Sorry for taking so long but I couldn't buy that Cakewalk program. It never worked properly, which the Cakewalk people warned me about. It worked as a recorder, but for some reason, it wouldn't make MP3s. So, I'm looking for something that will work. I have downloaded the program you recommended, but I'm not using it just yet.PakoI was waiting for Solid Lifter to record/upload his riff.
I just looked for myself, and didn't see anything either. I was able to link a file of my four-year-old son playing the guitar from another website, so I guess that's how I can do it if I need to.ceiling_fanI can't upload my riff onto the site. There's no option to upload it on.

My PC has a recorder, but it makes wav. files only. Can you use those? I forget. I haven't used the Lame MP3 decoder on recordings yet, but I'm sure they'll work. But the problem with it, it's only one track. So, only unfinished work can be sent, or one take stuff only. No overdubs, or anything elaborate.
Music wise, I have several things we can use already. I was going to send them all to you so you can choose wich one to do. I mostly write simple to complex hard rock riffs, but I'm doing stuff more suited so everybody can contribute something. I'm shooting for something more bluesy, but not in a typical shuffle. I even have some surf rock riffs and ideas, but I'm not sure if people are into that. Overall, it's going slow, but i'm still plucking away.
Thanks, but I used the Lame mp3 decoder that I mentioned before, and it works great.ROAD_DOGG33J.WAV files are uncompressed audio files. You might want to encode them into .mp3, .ogg, .mpc or whatever else is possible, if you want to bring the size down.
Here's a guide with some info:

Yep! Another nail in the coffin! Now, on to provide the body to stuff in it...PakoIt really should be working now....![]()
Solid LiftersI got my new amp a couple of days ago and have been trying to come up with a decent recording but not coming up with a good sound for my normal tone. So, I'm trying to come up with something new that sounds a little better. I put a sample of the one that I think sounds the best at your website Pako. I also sent you an e-mail yesterday with a different sample. It sounds muted to my ears. I can't seem to be able to control the recording level for some strange reason. So, the amp volume has to be set very low, and I hate playing it like that. I need to get that speaker cone moving for the sweeter tones, but can't.
Anyway, let me know what you think. If it sounds too distorted, I guess I'll come up with something else. The sample reflects a tone a lot more "Heavy Metal" then I'm used to. With this new tone, I'll have to come up with a new piece of music that fits the style a little better.
No, it wasn't 'record out,' but I did try it in my desperation. That signal is waaay too high. It was very oversaturated when I recorded it. It sucks I can't get the true tone of this amp. It really sounds great compared to the recordings I'm making. Oh well...we'll just have to make do.PakoSo you got your amp! Right on.... Sounds like Van Halen meets Iron Maiden. :-) The tone is cruchy for sure, but hey....we can go for it. Were you recording using a line-out on the amp? I couldn't really hear any 'air'. In any case, yeah....I'm excited and what ever tone you want is totally cool with me....I'm just a bass player.![]()
Solid LiftersHere ya go... Riff Sample.
Yeah, it's sounds fine here, but recording on computer isn't very good. I turned up the amp a little too high. Oddly, the sound was very soft; the volume knob was on 1.75 and the amp goes to 10. I have to set it to 1.5, or get that oversaturated screeching sound. I wish I had some recording level control, but don't.icemanshooter23That was great 👍. I liked the deeper parts much better than the high screeching parts though.

Thanks. I've been playing longer than you've been alive. For 22 years, or so.Saleen ManThat's awesome. How long have you been playing guitar? You sound really good. 👍
Do you have MS Windows XP? If so, you already have an audio recorder. All you need is a microphone and a way to connect it to your PC. Usually through the mic input. Click on Start. Then, All Programs. Then Accessories. Then Entertainment. Then Sound Recorder. You can change the recorders sound quality in "File Properties." I use 48,000kHZ, 16 bits mono. Then, I convert it to a MP3 file after I've saved it.This whole thing is a great idea, and I'd love to throw some riffs at you guys, but I don't have any recording software.![]()
