Great pics Captain :D:tup:

But...

Are you sure you didn't do the maths wrong?? I were 3rd?? Really??

I can't belive it...

Maybe i'm a better driver than i thought so. :sly:

Good result in a track i don't really like.

Now next race is in my fav track, so i better start practicing so i don't shame myself.

PS: Once again Paginas sorry for the stupid crash.👎 The cold tires caught me.
I've given a warning to myself. No more stupid overtake manouvers like that on the 1st lap.:guilty:

Ooh dear, someone's got the hump after getting a warning, hehe :sly:

Great race report and pics Captain 👍 And top choice of car and track for next week, love 'The Nurb' to bits, so I'll be hoping for a much better result than the horrific time I had in the Amuse S2000, which was a massive shame as I really enjoyed the car/track combo.

A mixture of feelings and results at the Cape Ring races, but as people have said, a likeable combo though.

So on to the next one at the "Green Hell". Probably most people's favourite, and one which pit strategy could play an important part, aswell as not falling off of course:tup:

WOOOOO i won 1

great photos captain..... before i the race i was a little bit worried as i didnt really like the track and when testing the car would just slide out on me. but during the race it just came together :D

And yes kammy i thought i cost me the win when you made that silly overtake on me lol

was all good fun though and looking forward to F1 at the weekend..... not sure about the green hell though HA

i'm looking forward to the f1 this weekend, and also the nurburgring race in that beast of a car!

At least my car is in one of the three podium pictures this week!

I was terrible in race one (a moving chicane :dopey:)

Totally surprised that I had the lead for a few in race 2 👍:)

And race 3 was OK except for an early pit stop for touching the grass on the sweeper

Improved finishing positions for me this week 👍

me and cpt_disaster done a wee 5 lap test today. tyres are good for about 3 laps then things get slidey! lol
if your unlucky enough to go off line be prepared for a bump off the barriers, cpt was unlucky enough to find this out, and with it being such a long lap you will lose loads of time limping back to the pits for repairs.

My error guys in joining. Never knew I was joining a club room. Looks like you had fun in the S2000 though...

Well yeah, but that's not why I said that. :sly: I'm just really not a fan of racing softs, makes everything feel like a go kart to me. I may give it a go, probably not though. I don't really have the money anyway. :dopey:

That's a shame mate, I just ran a few laps in free run and yes it does have plenty of grip, but it really is alot of fun to just thrash it around, and there is a limit where the car will decide to throw itself off the track . Give it a go and see what you think, would be a shame not to have you on the grid, this should be a fab race 👍

As for the warning, just take it on the chin and move on :dopey: Michael Schumacher's had to many times...maybe that's why his chin is slightly skewed, haha.

Anyway, guys, I had another idea while running some practice laps. Seeing as the race is just under 2 weeks away, maybe to get things going early we could have a little 'Free Run TT' and post up our fastest practice lap times for this combo? Also it would keep the thread going up until next sundays race 👍

What do you think guys?

EDIT: My best lap from last nights little session: 7'50.867

Well yeah I was upset about the warning until about five seconds ago when I read the part about a "generally too aggressive manner," and that is definitely me. I'm going to apologize again to whoever I hit, just know that it wasn't on purpose, it's just my style... or lack of car control... which for me tend to blend together. :D

Anyway I guess I'll give the car a shot, it just bugs me that I have a painfully similar ZR1 RM in my garage that I can't use. :ouch:

And I like the time trial thing. 👍

Edit: Just found the most perfect color, Smokin' Asphalt.

Edit2: Wow, going off track may as well be going off a cliff.

Just to clarify: Can we adjust the car's settings like camber and spring rates? Can't remember if Corvette really needed camber tuning though...

The hour earlier starting time might allow me to finally take part too (mondays have been bit rough lately so i haven't been able to stay up on sundays) :)

No. Identical cars aren't identical if you tune them. ;)

What Talon said Sohvakettu 👍

Great idea too Crispy. I'm game. If anyone ever see's me online I'm more than happy to set up a practice session too, so gimme a shout ;)

No worries @ MrMuslanne either. You quit as soon as you were made aware so alls good. If you wanted to get in on the action next time just check out the opening posts and express your interest appropriatly 👍

Good luck with this combo guys. There is a lot of grip, but there's also a lot of torque. Nurburg is a harsh mistress too so as Talon said, go off line and its your funeral. On top of all that I expect that grip to go off quite rapidly as well, depending on how wildly you throw this car around.

Could be a very interesting race this one. A battle of the brain :D

Oh I didn't even notice it was the 24HR layout, I was about to say I ran a 7:40 earlier today in a 520PP C5. That didn't really seem right.

Dang, now I have to actually learn the GP part. :ouch:

👍

Crispy!! What have I told you about free run! :P

Great time though. When I was testing the combo I was driving so poorly I estimated 8:20 would be a good average lap. Are you sure you havent made Talon's mistake? You are driving the 24hr configuration right? :D

Either way I need practice! I'll be on tonight should anyone want to join me 👍

Hehe, yep, 24hr layout checked and confirmed

Yes yes, I know free run gives more grip :sly: But I meant putting up times from the free run practice :D. But if you'd rather us put up lap times from an online session, then I'll scrub that time and post my time from tonights run 👍

As long as people post where the time was recorded I dont really mind. I always do my practicing online so people can join me. Free run times can be achieved there once track conditions are right anyway.

I'll catch you later mate, need to do more time progression testing as well tonight 👍

Practiced a bit with weescotman last night. I am only quicker in the GP section :scared:

Lots of fun to drive 👍 and the car can be 'rescued' when slipping on the grass; most of the time.

Me thinks my opportunities to gain positions will be because incidents of other cars receiving heavy damage and having to pit. It will be a shame if you are not at fault

I'll just try and stay off the guardrails whole race :)

I bet a cautious approach will result in a podium finish :sly:

Shin; will weather, or time change be turned on?

Yes Jacque, time change will certainly be on, but unfortunately you cant have one without the other. I'll be setting up a 24hr day to night cycle which also means random weather. I wont start the race in anything but brilliant sunshine though, so fingers crossed we'll be ok 👍

Great session last night guys. I had a single flash of brilliance in the first race on lap one when i moved from last up to third while chasing down the lead. It didnt last though  And every race after that I was just terrible. Very glad we have another week to practice. Nurburg isnt one of my favourites :ouch:

Oh yes, with regard to the grid on race day, this is what will happen.. Saturday is qualifying obviously. Results will be gathered and positions determined. On sunday we will run a one lap race on a very short circuit, finishing in reverse order from qualifying. 1st last, last first etc. This means I can set grid to reverse from previous race and we will all be in our respective positions for the main event :) Simples :D

One more thing about the race too.. I know from last night that it is very difficult to check who's behind you. There are hundreds off different lines around this track too. You may think you can overtake anywhere, but in an instant you could be blocked or run off the road unintentionally. Passing should only be attempted when it is safe to do so. Take opportunities by all means, but tag someone even slightly and your race could be ruined. Even more importantly though, their race could be ruined. There has been some selfish reckless driving in concours of late. I dont want to be giving out more warnings this week. Lets have a clean one 👍

Only if you wear you fancy dress while you race :sly:

I think I'll do this one.👍
Also, if you set weather to fixed it won't change, it sound like you didn't want rain Roh.

Paginas, as long as you don't mind starting last of course you can still race.

And to Akmuq, it's like I said. You can't have one without the other. If you set the weather to fixed, you don't get time change.

Quick note to everybody too... I just changed the start times to BST, which starts tomorrow 👍

I promise you Roh. I've had races with fixed weather but not fixed time. If you want to test it quickly then set it to 60 and fixed at sunny. Anyways, I think rain will be fun.:D
