It was great, we had healthy grids, good racing and a couple of SSCS guys in there too (join in next time VBR!) Congratulations go to Douqa and Crispy on their wins. đź‘Ť

Cheers Cpt

Yes, definately a very enjoyable combo last night, chasing Douqa through the first sector of Trial Mountain, with the both cars rear ends swinging out through the corners, literally on the very limit of the tyres adhesion was fantastic, intense, and scary stuff...and I loved every second of it!

And a good set of results rounded off another great Concours meeting, two third places, and a win, so no top spot on the podium this week, something which 'The Captain' will be very, very pleased about, haha :sly:

P.S I did feel for you last night Shin, just one of the nights I guess mate đź‘Ť

Bit quiet in here isn't it!?! Where is everybody...and more to the point, where's 'The Captain'? :sly:

I'm online tonight and tomorrow if you want a practice session for this weeks combo mate đź‘Ť

Here I be!!! :D

Finally finished work before 10pm this week :irked: I swear to god if I havent left this job by the end of the year I'll buy you all a golden toaster! :P lol.

Anyways I got straight to work on posting up this weeks combo. Last weeks results will have to wait till tomorrow but atleast you can all get some practice in ;)

I'll look for you online tonight chaps. Anyone else who'd like to join us is more than welcome too! Check out the new combo and get ready for sideways tomfoolery! :D

EPIC COMBO! :D Sounds right up my street, I think I'll be on track racing rather than spectating this week.

đź‘Ť

My ISP had an outage yesterday, since it came back online my download speed has dropped from 15mbps to 3mbps & my upload from 850kbps to 100kbps. I can't even stay connected to my own lounge at the moment & keep getting DCD from GT5, so SSCS is postponed until next week & I can't make Concours either. After talking to 3 different people & getting nowhere:banghead:, the 4th person I spoke to was sympathetic & helpful & has booked the engineers to try & put my speeds back to what they were on Monday, fingers crossed.

Totally gutted as I was looking forward to this weeks Concours car/track combo. :(

: RACE REPORT :

Been a while since I did one of these! :embarrassed: Went on GT tonight and basically couldnt be bothered to race lol. So I spent some time taking photos and watching replays. Anyhoo just thought I'd share with ya'll.

First up last weekends results!

m3result.png

Congratulations to Douqa for making the top step! And commiserations to Crispy for having his winning streak broken :sly: hehe. Firstmivec see's his first result on the podium in only his second week! đź‘Ť Well done John, keep it up mate.

As for myself I had a pretty rough time of it on sunday. Was really looking forward to the M3 as well :( Here's how my evening started out:

Mmmm look at that grid! Everyone in their favourite sports coupe and poised ready for the off. I qualified 3rd. Thought I could of gone slightly faster but made a mistake setting up the lobby and didnt have time to improve. Lesson learned! :D

m3rr1.png

I got a pretty decent start. I was slowly making ground on Douqa and by the time we got to turn one I was wishing it was a few more hundred metres away. I crept around the outside for as long as possible, but I eventually had to pull in behind Douqa and conceed.

m3rr2.png

Everyone behind were having their own little battles too. But once again we all made it through turn one without incident đź‘Ť

m3rr3.png

After pulling in behind Douqa I kept on the pressure and rode his bumper all through the first section and beyond. I saw an opertunity leading into the cambered downhill section and took it!

m3rr4.png

I lined up firstmivec in my sights and planned to breeze past :sly: haha. Its so difficult to chase at Trial Mountain though. You should all know by now that I'm a cockpit cam exclusive racer. Tracks like this with massive undulations, unsighted corners and a car in your face really make you concentrate!

m3rr5.png

I hung onto the back of him though and on the next lap I got good drive onto the back straight. I took mivec into the sweeping left without much opposition.

m3rr6.png

That said, immedietly exiting the very same corner I made it very easy for mivec to get back past! I got a wheel on that godamn dirt on the outside!

m3rr7.png

Somehow I managed to keep it out of the opposite wall! Could of been race over right there! However mivec was able to breeze straight back through.

m3rr8.png

And Douqa took a cheeky stab and passed me into the chicane!

m3rr9.png

I just about managed to fend off crispy from taking me too and I felt like I had to get back in front as soon as possible! I regained composure and went on the counter attack! Not 15 seconds later I was challenging Douqa in the penultimate corner, around the outside!

m3rr10.png

I couldnt get along side quite enough to force an error or a lift off and so I slotted in behind to fight another day. It was in the same corner on the next lap that I made my next move. This time I went to the inside!

m3rr11.png

Unfortunetley I didnt make it stick. I left too much room on the outside for fear of putting Douqa in the rough. Next time he's getting dirty tyres ;) lol. It was great racing! All the while I was on the attack Crispy was right there behind me! I was driving offensive AND defensive all at the same time! It was very difficult, and Crispy almost got me a couple of times

m3rr12.png

I managed to hold my ground. And I lay in wait for my next operunity to pass Douqa. We came into the complex blasted through the mountains and I saw it! Douqa had gone slightly, very very slight wide. I parked my car on the apex to see if he'd crack.

m3rr13.png

We touched and Douqa's back end got all out of shape. I thought I'd knocked him off so I got right off the throttle for a split second. Thankfully I didnt have to pull over but Crispy was right on my chuff looking to capitalise.

m3rr14.png

I was under intense pressure now, looking in my mirror for the remainder of the lap. I made a mistake. And I made it in the worst place possible :yuck: Final chicane, maximum attack, I put a wheel on the grass.

m3rr15.png

And the rest is history

m3rr16.png

Completely destroyed my car! I had to limp back to the pits over a whole lap losing masses of time. Was really enjoying the battle to that point too. Was a hell of a race!

The next two arent even worth talking about. I totally messed up in both. Not even close to a podium this week :(

Thats the great thing about Concours though isnt it ;) There's always next time! :sly:đź‘Ť

đź‘Ť to car and track of next event :)

Had a tooth extracted today so may be distracted Sunday:)

Ouch! Hope you're feeling up to racing on sunday. Get well soon mate đź‘Ť

I wont be able to make it this Sunday as I'm going to the exotic Milton Keynes. Im gonna miss the GP aswell, not happy.
VBR
Totally gutted as I was looking forward to this weeks Concours car/track combo. :(

Gutted for you both lads. Was looking forward to racing you both this weekend. Its a bit of a monster this car. You'll get your chance soon enough though I rekon ;)

No offence either Martin but, all my sympathy goes to Douqa on this one. I mean come on.... Milton Keynes!!!! Unlucky

great report dude, was an enjoyable read PLUS cool photos hehehe

Cheers dude :)

Personally I think they look a little washed out. I think I copied some settings over to the wrong pictures in Bridge :embarrassed: hey ho :P

Completely destroyed my car! I had to limp back to the pits over a whole lap losing masses of time.

Ahhh that is why you appeared before me!

I will give Sunday a go, hole in the jaw and all; need to practice some today.

Race ya's Sunday!

I hadnt realised the GP was on so late today!

Will be great coming striaght from watching that to the race track later :D

I'll let the qualifying run slightly longer than usual tonight to accomodate for people watching the F1. Not too much longer though so make sure you're as close to 8 as possible so you dont miss out đź‘Ť

Its going to be tough tonight. This car is mad as a hatter, so I suggest that if you cant drive it fast, drive it consistant! You will pick up places I'm sure

Good luck tonight gentlemen. I've not practiced maybe as much as I'd of liked, but I'm looking for a win tonight! I need to restore some credibility and get my name back on the top step! Whoever wins can be proud though. This is a seriously tricky combo!

I wont be on later lads. Ill be back during the week.

Nice race report Gary, watch out for that grass though đź‘Ť

Haha! Cheers for the tip John ;)

Just came on here to tell you guys what I've decided for tonight..

: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :

Each track will consist of two races. Qualification for each track will last 20minutes. On each track Race One will be roughly 20minutes, requiring everyone to make a mandatory pit stop. Race Two will be a 10minute sprint with reverse grid in place. No pit stop required, and it will start roughly 5minutes after race one.

Once again good look gents. I know I'll need it ;)

I will PM this information to anyone in the lobby tonight just to be sure eveyone knows đź‘Ť

I also want to reiterate my position on pit exit at Daytona. The following sequence will explain to new members and refresh the veterans on how to do so: (this applies to ANY concours event held at Daytona Road, not just tonights)

When exiting the pits and control of your car is passed on to you, keep left, entering the narrow lane;

pitexit2.png

Continue to keep left with turn one on your right hand side;

pitexit1.png

Continue on this sliproad behind the barrier;

pitexit3.png

And exit onto track at full race speed;

pitexit4.png

It is up to cars both on the track and exiting the pit lane to be aware of each other. Both cars will be up to full race speed heading towards occupying the same piece of tarmac. Avoid each other as niether one will be held accountable in the event of a racing incident. Instead you will both be damaged considerably putting an end to both your races. You have been warned.

That's a great idea, do they do this at the real Daytona Road?

đź‘Ť

I just did some beasty practice in Indy course and it's a very challenging drive. Concentration must be complete in order to stay on course. Wonderful vehicle selection Shin!

Just for everyone's information, I was just asked what would happen if the Grand Prix went over the 2hour race limit and clashed with our race meet. My answer was this:

You will miss the end of the grand prix, or Concours ;)

I'm going to start at 8pm as planned. Most of us still have to be in bed at a reasonable hour đź‘Ť

See you all on track ;) It'll be more interesting than the F1 thats for sure :D

Red flag at Canadian GP means overlap with Concours but I'll race, I like the hard to handle beast of a car!

Anyone practicing now during the stoppage? I am starting up my PS3 now.

Sure don't!

I'll open a lobby in a sec. If I feel like watching more rain I can look out the window!

Finished my dinner too :)

Uh oh!

Either PD are having issues or something farted my end.

Reseting and restarting everything. I'll have a lobby up shortly!

I hope :dopey:
