One thing though, do you guys notice a strange "garble" type sound after you shift? It sounds strange to me. :odd:

I think that's the sound of the unburned fuel popping in the exhaust on throttle lift off 👍

can you change rims/wheels to the ones you can paint? Note WRS EDK moderator said painted wheels OK for WRS

Absolutely mate. Thats pretty much a given in any race series. It doesnt change perfomance any so I've no problems with that 👍

As for this sound you're all talking about, it sounds more like gargling to me! Its a bit of a monster this one!

So will Performance points be incorperated to see if anyone is cheating. First off we have to test if stuff like changing suspension camber and LSD actually makes a difference.

Why do you have adjustable suspension and an LSD on your car?

As for PP, unless its completely altered how the lobbies are set up I'll be sticking with the current format. No need for PP restrictions when I'm cappping the tyres, weight and power anyway 👍

I just found out I had one.:dunce: I think I won it somewhere. Probably shouldn't of just said that:lol:. I was just wondering if it, or any other form of tuning like gears will change the PP of any car. Not important anymore.

Edit: If you don't believe that my car is stock I can put it online.

Good morning pistonheads,
again thanks for the nice races yesterday. Was a lot of fun.
Shin, I couldn´t finish in front of you in Daytona after destroying your race. Knight´s honour, you know :) So, sorry for that, mate. Won´t use the "berserk-mode" next time..

I really would make it to Sunday´s events, so hopefully we meet then.

Seb

Good little runout yesterday, was mainly using the races as practice, hence the letting everyone past at daytona. Got some good practice in at Fuji, which will help tomorrow. I enjoy that circuit immensely.
If I can't get the first corner nailed at daytona may give that a miss, I keep following the yellow lines of the oval and not the actual path! It's pretty unforgiving, hitting the wall at full speed, sideways. More practice on that.

No worries Seb 👍 I've raced with you enough now to know you're a respectful racer out there, it was an accident so dont worry about it :) Besides it was fun seeing how close I could get to your bumper for the last 2 laps  You did well under pressure dude :D

If I had one tip for turn one at Daytona, it would be dont brake hard and late, brake gently and VERY early. Hope you have time to get it down 👍

Yeah, that Fuji is somewhat of a technical course, which doesn´t fit nicely in my driving style, I see it slightly similar to Nürburgring. You don´t have a clean line, you won´t get a clean lap.

Daytona´s another story. For the case you miss the bus, you´ll have to take a walk back to the station, aka pits :) Wouldn´t mind some kind of "bubble-mode" for that particular corner..

seb

Edit: I see in many of your sig´s achievements like "division...". What exactly is this and how did you get those? Nevertheless, kudos from here. Wasn´t that easy i guess..

It's probably better to loose a second taking a cautious approach into the first corner then go plowing into it and the having to limp round the whole circuit! Slow and steady it will be.

It's the WRS. It's a very well organised weekly race series, here on gt planet.

Read the above linked thread, have a look and all should be revealed.

Hey fellas,
sorry to say, but I have to make a step back regarding racing. In the last few weeks my girlfriend didn´t have too much of me in real-life, so I might be concentrating on Fridays/Saturdays sessions. Besides in the other league I´m racing, flows much time inside regarding optimizing car and practising. I´ll keep in touch with you and if there´s any possibility for me to race with you, I´ll take it..Have much fun today and enjoy it :)

See you then,
Seb

If you still wish to join please post responding to the following:
1. Do you agree to abide by the rules and regulations outlined in the OLR?
YES
2. Have you read all 3 opening posts fully?
YES
3. Is there anything you dont understand?
NO
4. Are you willing to perform a few test laps to prove your respectful racing credentials?
Post your answers along with your PSN
YES

Looking forward to todays races. On Fuji I have been doing 1.48-1.54 Lap times. It is easy to lose the car if you are to agressive. I plan on taking the first corner in last place to avoid any accidents. Good luck guys.

Just watched replay: from Paginas (my point of view)

No 1 goes into Dhandes
Dhandes lags into the back of GTP_ChaCha
Then GTP_ChaCha Smahes into me

So its between Chacha and dhandes, on my replay i would blame dhandes as chacha braked in time

Sorry dhandes mate it seems to be your fault lol no-one went into the back of you. It looks like a connection issue as you didnt intend on doing it

i will provide photos if needed

On my replay, I've got sparky69 smashing into me, will post pics and I mean smashing at full speed!

lol strange, it shows you have no damage on the rear of your car only front

and no damage on sparks car.

I do hate this silly replay system

Just to say it does look odd that you car kind of went sideways without behing hit hmm. need someone else to look at replay...

Maybe we should consider rolling starts. With damage set to high, having lag ruin the race for several people is quite disappointing.

If you watch the replay from #12, you can clearly see dhandles jump-lag instantly into my back end and then yes, I (chacha) then t-bone paginas.

If you ride with dhandles, he also clearly breaks pretty early and maintains almost a car length behind. I don't blame anyone.

Having F-1 style starts is very interesting, but the game seems to be winning, not us.

Yes i agree it will cut the laggy start out for some people....

From the start then!

Plenty of distance, between me (pink car) and sparky96.

IMAG0025.jpg

Getting closer.

IMAG0026.jpg

Taken at same time from a different angle, look at the distance to car in front.

FujiSpeedwayGT.jpg

Same time, different angle.

FujiSpeedwayGT_1.jpg

From sparky69 view, a few frames on, you can see how much further he has travelled compared to the rest of us.

IMAG0027.jpg

And from my view at roughly the same time, look at my speed to sparky69's

IMAG0022.jpg

And a few frames later... Look at sparky69 speed (118) to mine (39)

IMAG0028.jpg

At the same time look at my speed to sparky69's. 118 compared to my 39. Conclusive?

IMAG0024.jpg

Just before contact, look at speed of sparky69 at the point of the circuit where i was doing no more than 39.

IMAG0021.jpg

Just after contact, look at sparky69's damage indicator. Also look at his speed, still massively too fast, where my speed was proved to be 39.

IMAG0029.jpg

And two pictures confirming contact.

FujiSpeedwayGT_3.jpg

FujiSpeedwayGT_2.jpg

To wrap things up, I was taking the inside line staying out of trouble nice and steady, when I was contacted from behind with a speed differential of at least 80 mph. Ive proved I was at a reasonable speed, left distance to the car in front and have proved with car speeds that I had slowed and the car behind didnt.

It seems that sparky69 was having connection problems, as he didnt show up in replays for other people sort of proving his connection wasnt matched up with the rest of us.

Ive also proved there there was contact after the above posts doubt.

With this post, you have said no one went into the back of me, ive proved that someone has, at speed! And if someone does shunt into me from behind, what the hell was I suppose to do? What i would like you to do, is go back to fuji gt, start from the grid and slow down to 39 where i was on the track and you tell me if thats too fast. Then do the same and try to take the corner at 118.

Maybe we should consider rolling starts. With damage set to high, having lag ruin the race for several people is quite disappointing.

Thankyou for your take on this, and I agree, I Brake early as not to shunt into the pack. Shame the car behind me didnt.

To improve things, maybe try and get a few more mics people, we can then report after the start if everyone is clear and no contact, delibrate or not has taken place. If there has been an incident, red flag the race and start it again. Or maybe trial a rolling start a couple of times and see how that goes.

I know for sure that im not doing it on purpose, as when people come up to lap me i get well out of the way.
Its getting really frustrating, as it always seems to be me involved, ive wired my internet connection, I tell the misses to get off facebook and im happy that my connection is fine.

I guess my pink theory didnt work either!

On my replay it appears that noone hits dhandes. Its obviously down to lag. I think its different for evryone. I've no idea how it all works but it seems as though at times your PS3 is unaware of all the cars positions on the track. When it figures out its got it wrong it warp speeds it to where it should be. Its hard to lay blame. If I go onboard with sparky his car is constantly shooting back and forth and bouncing around all over the place, but surely it wasnt like that for him.

Hi guy's

I just wanted to check in and see if anyone had looked at the replays, which you have. I wanted to thank you for posting the pictures to help figure this out. I can say for certain that I did not hit dhandes and that my car had absolutley no front end damage. I watched the replay right after the race and there is about 3 car lenghts between me and dhandes when his car goes completely sideways from a ghost impact.

I can not argue with his pictures, but I will post some from my end before the next race tonight. I believe the problem, as others have said, is some kind of lag.

That clears it up then, not!

Can anyone confirm how sparky69 appeared on track during the race? And the same for me. Glitchy or anything?

And for all the other online races ive done, which is getting on few over a couple of hundred, ive never experienced anything like this!

Grid strat are certainly more exciting but I have nothing against using rolling starts. Is it an option? I don't recall seeing it.

We could use lap 1 as a parade lap then race from the line. It would get us in running order and get the tyres warm, but there would be no multiple overtakes in turn 1. Probably be no multiple pile ups in turn 1 either though.

Sounds interesting, do you mean to regrid after the first lap or simply boot it when in formation.
