Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge! Completed! Thanks All!

Whose Rolex series? Ours? The Camaro isn't too fast OR too slow there.

Really? I guess that whole deal with it's performance at Nurburgring was just my imagination because Paul was driving it and everyone complained it was too fast.

Max is faster than me, but I tested the Camaro after GP/D and found that with a little tuning, that the Camaro was a half second quicker than the Challenger.

Different cars will do better than others on different tracks. Might i suggest maybe for the next race and/or season that it be by performance points? Usually works out to being a close race. Cause i've noticed that the performance points under the current restrictions are in the ~515 range +/- 5-10pp

It already comes down to talent. Max is fast. I can't deny it.

ghs & I are almost dead-locked for lap times... cnd is fast & consistent... & Seth can work with AWD well. ~ It all comes down to who's the fastest on that particular day. The Camaro's weird, because very few people can get so much out of it as Max.

I'm more than likely out this week :( It depends if I can show up late again without being killed. Two weeks ago, I got a good tongue lashing from a few moms for showing up late. I don't know if I want to deal with that again.

So after some more testing. 1420kg 435hp turns out to give equal times to what i was getting at Indy, but tire wear is less severe on the front.

^ This is for the Subaru? If so, I guess I approve. :) It's not my decision, but, I have nothing against Seth making his car heavier. 💡 :sly:

Makes sense. Moving ballast back should help front tire wear. Also with a AWD car, moving torque back helps too. Of course, you know that already.

Can also set the front ARB to be stiffer than the rear. I usually have between a 1-3 difference in split depending on drivetrain.

Already on top of all that. Roll bars are 4-2, front suspension is higher than the rear (backwards GT5 settings), slightly stiffer front springs for better rear grip, 20/80 rear drive bias. But @1361kg the car had a 54/46 distribution :(. The Camaro on the other hand has 47/53, no 4wd, and more horsepower. I couldn't take that car because it was already in use ;) But trust me, the Camaro is under appreciated. It's a 'sleeper'.

Hmm I found in my tests higher front stiffness gives me oversteer, same for higher dampers front to rear and ARBs. (I use this trick in FFs to go fast and it works ;))

Learned from CSL 👍.

Oversteer is somewhat needed with the 4wd IMO. That's what I try to put in the car, with the front wheels pulling it's already pretty stable like the FWD cars.

This is the base tune I use for 4wds is:

RH (For e.g) -10 -20 ---------------------------- CA 2.0 1.0
SR 11.0 7.0 (More the 4.0 diff in spring stiffness) - TA 0.00 -0.10
D(E) 7 5 (or 8 6, depending on weight)
D(C) 7 5 (Same as above)
ARB 5 4 (Or 6 5, depending on weight)

No idea what you use but if it's close to that I say it's a good start. (Thats a base if it's still understeery I add more -rear toe etc)

Let me save this tune  I know you can tune just about any car up faster than I can dream of tuning one. :)

Thats just a base I tuned a Subaru 08 on SH for the "Expert A spec" event at Laguna seca (The one where you had to use a Subaru 08) and it's nothing like that .

I don't care about the series . If it comes from you then it has to be fast :)

Thanks Paul!

I've found that if you add negative rear toe, it causes understeer. Then if you add slight positive rear toe it helps with oversteer. So I usually run front -.05 and rear .05! If you go .00/.00 the turn in is sharp and it's very direct, but doesn't really help if you want to take the turns 'wide'. So with that in mind I usually approach all cars besides FWD with a + toe angle in the rear. And I decrease it as necessary to get the turn in. If you do too much negative toe in the front I think it adds to front tire wear even though it gives a better steering input.

I always run a fair amount of negative front toe to get rid of understeer. I can't drive a car that understeers lol. I prefer having one that has a snappy loose setup. I haven't tried the "backwards setup" where you stiffen the front shock significantly among other things. I will experiment with that this week assuming I actually make it.

He signed up for TOCA in a Volvo.... :scared:.... :sly:

So long as he doesn't try to use a Volvo here... My Aston Martin can't beat Volvo. It's not going to happen. I like Volvo too much; therefore, Volvo's much faster, and has 1000 horsepower. :sly:

I am driving in it now.. I got bored of being the test driver and.... Dat Pirtek CR-Z :dopey:. I think though I will only see him when lapping him :sly:.

You are one quick cat. I'm sure you'll lap everyone...

Na Toca has a good few drivers that can easily match me or beat me.. A few are Spurgy, (6th in UK on GT-A TT, he also was last season champion) Dax, Neljack etc :).
