Cote D'Azur track scale

They should have gotten another track's license and forget about Monaco, France or cote de whatever...

It's kind of my least favorite track. It doesn't look to me like it belongs to Gran Turismo somehow.

fair enough..

I race it with go-arts with some buddies, and that bump really shows, it's a blast. not the fastest laps but can be a hoot.

with faster cars hooking things up around it, just a bit of sliding .. oohh so close to the barriers for a clean lap and a fast time is rewarding and a challenge.. get it wrong and it could be your worst nightmare ..

Since it's in the "feels like a real place" bracket as far as tracks go. I'd like it to stay. And I'd like to say to sony and PD, can we have some of the other "feels like a real place" tracks back from earlier GT's please. :)

Some of the fictional tracks are the most fun imho. and I think with some earlier open wheel racing cars ( I din't say f1 💡) this could be a blast.

having just read about 4 pages of this thread.. can I just say, it's had it's humorous points, thanks for letting it run. it's been educational as well.

Cheers

M

I'd settle for a night version of this track. 👍 :)

Don´t know, why everybody is discussing, why it isn´t as detailed and accurate as the Nordschleife.

Because there isn´t any official license to rebuild it correctly and PD just had fun to make a track looking similar to the Cursuit of Monaco. But there need to be differences to pretent from allegations of license abuse.

And some guys must have forgotten, that is is a recycled GT4 (GT3?) track with very few updates in standard quality.

For my personal taste, I don´t need any Monaco track. I never raced there. I never liked it. For me it´s one of the worst race tracks in the world.

The width is about right id say, ive been for the F1 walked and driven round it. Its just the 1990's configuration and its never been updated due to licencing no doubt

I love this track, and if they removed it, people would be bashing GT5 for that relentlessly. It's a really good track. Is it different? Sure. But that doesn't mean it doesn't belong. I wish we had an HD El Capitan at Cote de Azur quality levels.

Anyway, you don't have to drive on it. I feel the same way about some of the other tracks, and I just ignore them. But personally, I think this is the best track in the game.

When you're racing and the car's hooked up it's a lot of fun to drive. When you're dragging a car around for 40 laps and it's nowhere... it's a long old night :D

It would be great if they redo it with license as it seems older version which did not get updated but I think they need to get SPA, Silverstone, Hockenheim hopefully A1 ring in Austria and other new tracks as well for next game

Well I definately like this track. Whether it is accurately modelled or not I think it captures the essence of Monaco quite well in that the fastest lines take you right up against the armco, and the faster you want to go, the closer you have got to get ....

Watch this:

This is a lot like what we have in GT5, except for the Nouvelle chicane. The Nouvelle chicane in GT5 is much more up to date... :dunce:

EDIT: ...or this one.

This is basically what we have in GT5.

I've been to Manaco a few times myself. The scale of the track is not too bad, but the track is certainly more narrow in real life. So far, I think F1 2010 has simulated the track the best (of video games I have played).

  • they don't have the licence for the real Monaco and they can't pretend it's the real one.

Why can't they call it Monaco? :dunce:

Also, I was hosting a pretty popular room tonight and at one point we were doing 450pp cars and would up at Mona Cote de Azur. 8 laps. Lots of fun, though I ruined my own race and ended up facing the wall in the chicane after the tunnel.

In any case, Monte Carlo is in Nevada. I know, I got a chip from there.

Ehhhh? All I know is I had a good laugh reading this thread and that the track in F1 2010 is a lot better/harder then this
