Courses You Hope to See Made

All of the mountain roads used in Tokyo Xtreme racer drift 2 and initial D put together into one massive touge.

Let's just simulate the entire Japanese road and highway networks.

Gran Turismo isn't a driving simulator, it's a racing simulator. You guys know how it feels to just want to cruise sometimes, right?
I'm talking about racing on them, not cruising lol

So. I made Rudskogen. My god is this course maker a pain in the butt. First: the corners. You can't make them nice without putting some real effort into it. If you mess up, you have to start all over again. Second: if your course has corners that are too close to the track somewhere else, you can't place it there. And third: Placing stuff like trees, stands etc. You can't place them wherever you want. Only certain spots. I was so glad it finally worked, but to see it doesn't work 100% like you expected and was promised is a huge letdown. I hope they fix this..

I will post a pic of the track I made vs the screenshot I used to trace it with. Feel free to use the pic, just make sure to make the start stretch almost as long as the vertical stretch on the pic.

I don't get it?

All cruising course can be good for racing, but not all race courses can be good for cruising, what with ugly banking and curbing, long uneventful straights, stop and go corners - a perfect example of a good course for both cruising and racing is the Ring, because it's so varied. The environment is engaging, every corner is different and has its own personality, the road surface itself is ever changing, and the incline is varied enough to let you feel your car's torque when going up hill, and really feel light when going down. All of these factors make for a good cruise since you don't feel like you need to be fast to be engaged, but because of how technical this kind of course is, it makes for a great racecourse, too. Variety is everything. Laguna Seca, Motegi, Monza, Cape/High Speed Rings, for example, you can't really cruise these courses, they're too unrefined. Courses like Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, and proof that a circuit can be good cruising, Suzuka, are all great course for both cruising and racing, because the environment around you while driving isn't constant, and none of the corners are the same, or so easy that you feel there's only a single proper line lest you stuff it.

Is it possible to make it tighter like so? Apart from that, it seems like a welldone recreation.

Oh. I don't watch commercials. Internet is much cheaper than television.
I agree, but anyway on with the topic of what courses people would like

I'd really like to see the street circuits at Belle Isle and Exhibition Place. Heck, I'd like to see all the tracks that IndyCar uses.

Looking forward to having a crack at making Phillip Island, Aus. Unless someone else's does it first. Not sure my tablet will work till I get back home. Great time to b on holiday.

Nope, problem is you can't place the road near to an existing part of the track. :banghead:

I am disappointed that we do not have the ability to change elevations. That rules out recreating many tracks that have iconic elevation changes. Flat tracks and airport circuits work well though.

I would like to see Mid-Ohio, VIR, COTA and Lime Rock done. I have downloaded the app and I will take a stab at MId-Ohio and some of the others I listed if no one beats me to it.

Karjala GP would be nice to see. It's one of the best fictional tracks that was made for NR2003 or the GMotor games. It's also rather flat in terms of elevation changes, so that's a plus when using the Eifel (Flat) layout.

Handy scale in bottom left corner. 👍

1955-1970 layout was 6.542 km long. Straight length is hard to find, and an exact replication of the hairpin might not be possible. Has an elevation change of 93 metres, with the hairpin at the bottom of the circuit. There is a compass in the second image so you can at least get the sun in the right places, maybe. :D

No chance. Virage Muizon at Reims would probably not even be possible.

Hmm, indeed.

I know just the fast vintage track we can make then. :D

Track length is 5.941 km.

Might need to use something other than Eifel Flat however, it's not really a flat track.

I just tried making it, I couldn't complete back streach because the limit was reached
I see you didnt do it with scale.

I once try to make a 4km track replica. When the limit is reached i realized the straight alone is 2km.
