I closed that down because it was spammy. There was no reason why it could not have been posted here. It simply wasn't worthy of its own discussion.
 
wow did yall re read the rule bit about warnings? Technically the double cut is a double at the vary least a single warning......well great what do we do now if they throw that in our face when complaining about this round. Guess we will wait for this weekend to see. Only time will tell.

Thanks man, my SN is 'TBonatz' on the boards. Dont know how many are cutting in SE but we still have plenty of time to find.
 
I am glad this is coming out now. I was killing myself and was over 3 seconds off of the pace. I knew there was time to be gained in spots in my lap, but I knew that 3.3 seconds was absurd. I suppose I will just let my 1:51.5 rest until there is more word on any action.

Sony needs to do something about this as it is making them, and Nissan, look pretty shoddy.
 
Just watched the #1 guy and that was hilarious. I don't see how they can let that slide, but they just might. Probably depends on whether PD truly is interested in finding racers from the people that plays their game OR whether the whole contest is just a marketing gimmick really designed to sell Nissan's more than anything else as to whether they do anything about it. As much as I hate to say it, if I had to bet, I'd bet on it being the latter.

Anyways, I'm not even in the second round, and I felt compelled to send a email. Hope they get this straight, as I was looking forward to sitting back and watching this one.

r1600turbo - don't stop running laps at Indy...

Fast laps aren't something that you only have a fixed quantity of, and if you use them they will be gone. If you go out and run a 1:50 tonight, and they erase your time, there's no reason why you can't run it again. You do have until Sunday night to make up for any lost time.

For example - in round 1 in took me weeks to get down to my times, but if you erased everything, I could still get back to a top 5 ranking in about an hour total.

...at least you won't have to re-learn the chicane like those cheating hacks who knows they aren't any good to make it to round 3 anyway.

This is exactly why I'm still doing as many laps there as I can, and really working hard on Toscana too. If it turns out that they're going to let these laps fly, the best thing we as a community can do is still be faster than them because we can drive Toscana well. Every last fraction of a second at both tracks is going to have to count to beat these guys.

EDIT: That is in addition to the overwhelming effort that is already taking place to rectify the problem in the first place!

9 of the 10 people currently in the top ten in the west are confirmed by me to be cutting. And I only couldn't confirm #5 'S2_Killa' because his replay's not downloadable at the moment. Posting video shortly.

Good Lord!! Fix is all the way down to 36th. Im sure everyone in front of him for the exception of maybe 1 or 2 are cutting. This is horrible.

I agree. I don't really care weather they do something major like reset the times or whatever. I don't know how likely that is, whatever.

All I want and all we deserve is to know whether or not this will be tolerated.

If we don't at least get an official answer by tomorrow it's just gonna taint the whole idea and good people will drop out. Shameful.

A person who is sensible would hopefully review all of these laps and realize its wrong and add a 5s penalty or DQ the lap. My fear is the only way we will figure this out is when you get the e-mail if you made it to round 3 or not. Would be a crap deal if that is the case.

edit:

Also the explicit rules cited about corner cutting is in reference to round 4... round 1, 2 and 3 are described as quickest combined time to proceed to the next round. This stuff is BS but I have to throw it out there, we may be mowing the lawn.

"I just got off the phone with Sony's Marketing department. The representative stated that they are well aware of the problem and they are looking at this internally as well as with Polyphony Digital. The round will not be postponed as they have to keep their scheduling intact. They are working on the problem. Stay tuned"
 
it'll be some bull **** if we end up having to cut the track come Sunday. While it will be satisfying to humiliate the SOBs that have already started this BS by showing them what real drivers can do when forced to use their tactics... argh I don't even know what to say, it will COMPLETELY illegitimize the integrity of this competition if we have to prove our skill by cutting the track like this. I've competed in "Pro Gaming" competitions where your racing for a big check, and regrettably embraced the gayness of track cutting/wall-bounces for the sake of cash, but considering the prize/opportunity we are racing for in this competition, how can we possibly take Nissan and GT Academy seriously if were forced to blatantly disregard track and racing etiquette. This HAS to be fixed.

Apologies for the rant, but i've been fuming since this morning when I checked the leaderboards. When it comes down to it, if every1 abandons their integrity/morals and embraces the cuts, the same people will still be 1st thru 16, with or without the lawn mowing. Its just ****ed up if were forced to do this, because i'd expect the majority of us would do next to anything to have a career in motor racing.

Hey Everyone I found this forum cause of the cutting thing. So I did some laps last night on Indy ended with 28 or whatever had homework. This morning loaded up TunerUSA or whatever, I could not believe my eyes when I up loaded the ghost I was beating him by a solid half a second and then WTF just happened!?!? Hahah anyways reason Im laughing is cause I wanted to see my facial expression.

If they let this happen, I'm out. I dont want to be a part of it.

All cheaters will lose at the end anyways. But the fact that they are stealing fair player's spots is unacceptable.
