honestly, I don't like resorting to it, and I would have waited on official word, but this is ending sunday, and going on past judgments from Sony, I didn't want to be left out because everyone else was cutting and I didn't. and "ripped apart"?...now you're resorting to e-threats? I don't drive like this in real life, nor in the game when racing online, but an opportunity is an opportunity.

either way, it sucks A LOT. I wish there were invisible walls keeping it from happening. but if it's allowed, I'd have to be an idiot to not go for it.

Then I suppose I'm an idiot.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let's just take a minute here. I know a lot of people are upset about this and it's very difficult to avoid letting your emotions get the better of you (after all, they wouldn't be called emotions if they made you think rationally), but some of the comments are starting to get a little personal. So I'm going to shut the discussion down for fifteen minutes to give everyone a chance to cool off, okay? I'll open it back up on the hour.

I'm taking a break and letting my brother play for a while. I still have the #1 time in the west at Toscana, and I don't want to touch Indy until we know for sure what's going to go on there. So waiting, patiently...

I'm not in GT Academy, nor am I old enough to do so, but I can say this.

I would at least be angry at cheaters for cutting turns on a normal leaderboard, but for a chance to become a real race-car driver? I bet if a cheater wins the finals, he'd wreck on lap 1 his first real race. Not saying I want it to happen, but i'd bet my money on it happening. See, those guys are not suitable for being REAL drivers, and how do we know if it's not just a kid who lied about his age and is doing this? It's possible!

LRyder2k6 just posted on the Facebook wall....... feel free to head on over and give him hell. I made sure to point out how he is 2 seconds slower than Fix at Tuscana haha

Hey that is one damn good lap at Toscana R1600. I'm soon to be attempting that circuit(to improve).....

I cannot express my level of displeasure with the "top" runners at Indy though. I hope that Sony is "forced" to act by Nissan and wipes the times(that are warranted) for this circuit. The deviation at Cape Ring was one thing(happy to report that I managed to move on without deviating), but this is being taken to a whole different dimension.. If they don't handle this properly, it would show pretty bad character IMO.

Good luck to all that haven't fallen to the lowly level that greed has now created and proved is in existance.

I aim to change that tonight ;-)

Oh you'll probably beat it. I didn't really think it was all that impressive of a lap and I know I can run faster cause I made quite a few mistakes. I'm surprised it's held on this long.

I just read the FB page. For those posting and in the competition I would watch what I post, better yet I wouldn't post at all. Just my .02

I'll post on FB. I don't feel as though I've done anything wrong. I didn't use the grass at Indy. I have a time of 1:51.8 or something.

One of the other frustrating things about these cheaters...I can't download a ghost to follow thats legit. I downloaded the first place ghost, beat him to the "s" turns and all of a sudden, he is in front of me...what the hell!

I know that i'm not the best but I still don't believe that this corner cutting is going on. I like to think that everyone who has made it this far is/has taken GT Academy as seriously as I have....Unfortunately thats not the case. What I do know is this. Not making the cut to move on to round 3 means that I gave it my best shot....the right way.

By chance does anyone know who has the fastest legit time on indy? I' assuming its like a 1:50.8xxxxx maybe faster but before all this started there was a legit ghost pulling times like in the top ten in the west but I can't remember their name, anyways good lap to whoever that was.

APPALACHIAN_KRIS at 1:50.507 looks like the fastest legit time right now.

So I took the R34 on Indy for 10 laps before work this morning and clocked in a clean 1:51.5xx. Now I come back from my SoCal commute this evening and loaded up 1st place to see exploits.

I'll give SCEA/Nissan till the end of the work week, if nothing is done I'm retiring myself from Round 2. I never went lawn mowing in Round 1 and managed a 2:47.4xx on Cape Ring, my other track times kept me 35th overall in the West.

I'll be honest, I like to win, but I like to win in my own way. I hope that Toscana times will eventually become the overall times, just discard Indy times all together.

I would be kind of bummed if they just go with the GT500 car at Toscana. I'm not really good with this car, and the course is a little funny. However, I suppose any solution would be better than what we have now.

Yeah I agree with you Blindside50 not doing so hot at Toscana either turn in on those two high speed corners is killing me. Hope they just reset indy and make all the grass invalidate your time if you get all four off seems not that hard to me.

I made a new thread saying the below, but I guess since I just registered an account that a moderator has to approve it. I'm putting the contents of that thread here as well in case the thread is not approved.

Earlier today I loaded up the fastest overall ghost at Indy and discovered the absurd cut that is being used. In previous online racing leagues that I've participated in, a simple 4WR (four wheel rule) was used. If four wheels crossed a white line or exited the boundaries of the track, you could be penalized or disqualified. Considering this rule was broken multiple times last round at the Cape Ring, I assumed that the cut would become the norm and that the standard of doing whatever the game allowed would be maintained.

I want to apologize to the community for using this cut. If I had known that the community generally regarded it as completely unfair, I would not have used it. If I could, I would have my time stricken from the record. In order to legitimize my skills as a driver, I have improved my ranking on Toscana to 12th without the use of ghosts and I still have plenty of time to find.

In my opinion, PD needs to fix the track so that it will invalidate any laps which use the cut, then reset the leaderboard or remove the unfair times.

Also, I saw someone saying in another thread that I had posted on Facebook. I have not posted anything on Facebook, if someone is claiming to be me they are an imposter.
