The most obvious solution to that would be to keep it clean all the way while complaining to SONY but be sure to save a replay file of your best time so if they check everyone's lap after the end, you will have the proof that you did run clean!!
That's a shame, really... I can't understand that. Normal Time trial in GT5P were more severe than that and this is an official competition. That is really sad.

What I don't understand is during the previous running of the Gt academy here for the Indy 500 trip the barriers were pretty good. If you put too much of the car over the curb at the final corner it would red your lap. Now you can put all 4 over and then some without any penalty and clearly this total cut is unacceptable. It seems like they eliminated the already existing pretty good barriers. I hope Sony fixes this somehow.

This is supremely disappointing. I don't understand how they consistently overlook things like this. The amount of effort put into this from PD is absolutely pathetic. I feel like if I F-d something up this bad at work, I'd get fired. Plus I'm sure it's an entire team of people tasked with this, how could they all fail together so miserably?

Just found one in the Northeast who is now faster than Gar, Fix, Zissou, Eers, Forced, and me... I called out LRyder2k6 on Facebook, make sure this gets added to the list.

Being behind a corporate firewall at work I can't see any of the disgust first hand; but I did probe the corners yesterday seeing how much cheating we were going to be in for and I noticed that you can cut pretty much every corner after the first sector without getting red flagged but I honestly didn't expect any one to actually do it.
Cape Ring pit lane run-off was a grey area (the only thing I really didn't agree with was it let you drive the back straight between the road and barrier and some were exploiting the last turn in ways I wasn't ethically comfortable with). But if people are straight-lining the double hair-pin that's just patently offensive and I wouldn't complain in the slightest if those involved were punted from round 2 and replaced with places 129-140 or whatever from round 1.

New to posting here, but I figured this was a damn good reason to actually join the forum. I too have emailed Sony directly, and filed a complaint about the whole situation, I also have filed individual complaints for each player on the list of corner cutters. I don't know if this will make any difference but the more noise people make about this should make the problem hard to ignore. And I thought that still being stuck with the DS3 would be my biggest problem making the next round but instead its peoples bad driving ethics.

There have been a few requests from people for us to take this further. I understand that you are upset, but there is very little that we can do. GT Planet is a fan site and nothing more. Our involvement with Polyphony Digital and Sony begins and ends there. We have no contact - official or unofficial - with either company, or any of its subsidiaries. I will bring this up with the other moderators, but do not hold your breath. Our hands may be tied.

Here's a list of drivers I don't recognize as being towards the top in round one for the west, now most these guys are in the top ten, plus all but one of them has a sub 1:50 lap time so that just adds to the suspicion.
