Cutting corners in Indy

Isn't that a fun track/car combo. I haven't had a great run yet, but like driving that track with that car, just for the fun of it.

Ahh if only PD had set the boundaries correct in the first place. You would think by time they got to GT5 they might at least try to set them correctly. The thing is , how do they even make a decision like that to allow cutting in these places while not allowing it around most other corners on other tracks

Going back to the TT last year, this didn't happen for 2 reasons: the grass had far far less grip, and the throttle was cut to almost nothing in the grass. if you watch the top replays from it you will see that people didn't even tend to put 1 wheel in grass because of the large grip loss. If they had just set the grip reduction to "real" for these trials like you can in practice or online, this would be much less of an issue.

I think SCEA/Nissan removing selected laps may be a slippery slope being that they have not defined what is cheating (Ie, 2 wwheels off, 3 wheels off etc). Sure there are obvious ones that should be deleted, but where do you draw the line not having it well defined in the rules?

Hey great work LV. What number did you call exactly? Someone should try and get some dialogue going in E-mail or something so we can get some documentation. I'll record some of the cutters from the West to try and put together a little package of evidence showcasing this non-sense.

If it's confirmed that we can get a patch then we need to make a new thread to rally ourselves up and make sure as many people as possible know about it.

What was the number you called? I want to make sure I'm not calling a dead-end where my complaint will be written on yesterday's lunch napkin and thrown away in fifteen minutes.

In the Southeast, 5 of the top 10 are cutting. This is ridiculous. My best time at Indy is a 1:51.850, which is by no means blisteringly fast, but I expected to be higher than 46th with that time. I suspect a HUGE percentage below the top 10 are cutting and just "holding back" so their replay doesn't show up for everyone to see.

I'd say its probably a pretty good bet that everyone on the leader board who is ahead of Fix has been mowing the lawn. And he has been bumped al the way down to 19th. 👎

This is the exact point I made in my email to support requesting that a patch be submitted and the leaderboard reset. It looks extremely bad for SCEA, Nissan, PD, and the GT brand/likeness to require such contradictory driving in "the real driving simulator" to move on to subsequent rounds in a competition designed to find a candidate to become an actual professional racing driver.
