i just dont understand why these TT's arent setup like the license tests, i mean come on dude, is it THAT hard?

i posted the video/gave credit to the user who posted it on the GTA facebook. Name is Brandon Warren. We will take care of this yet...

I already commented on a post - my name is Nick Fontana...feel free to pour more fuel on the fire. One of the cutters posted on facebook claiming he just followed the ghost across the grass... Really...you just "followed" the ghost?! 👎

I love to follow ghosts, but ghosts should be disabled for round 3. I know for a fact that many people wouldn´t be nowhere close to the top times without uploading ghosts.

That´s a very "videogamey" aspect that they might consider removing for the next round.

About the Corner cutting, another thing that´s bad is the fact that if they don´t act, people will end up doing it and we will miss one of the most important things about a hotlap on Indy - nailing those two corners.

From my experience last night and on the last academy, it´s the place where you can make or break your lap. A shame if those corners are ignored.

I would call to complain to the marketing department on this issue. I have done so already.

The northeast is relatively clean right now. Racer_ohms who was the first driver we noticed is sitting at 54th or so right now (real slow on toscana)

I'm not the fastest guy, sitting at 39th NE right now after 2 hours of play yesterday, but man this cheating is making me want to blow these guys away by racing clean. I intend (hope) to make the top 16 and from there the top 8. If any of those guys are left by orlando, I will be a battering ram to keep them from ****ing with anyone of the top guys. I have tons of respect for the likes of fix, blindside, choate, hunk etc. and I'd be incredibly mad if any one of those cheating whelps made it through.

And since I was founder of the John Deere Club (which is a joke btw) I can honestly say that I hope that none of our "members" will be doing this.

Unfortunately, I don't have a facebook, but I'll continue to submit complaints on psn and will try to call nissan and sony after work today. This is absurd.

While that's true for the first round, as I followed TimeAttack's ghost at Tsukuba and the 10th place positions ghost at Rome as well as the Cape. So far this round I haven't downloaded anybody's ghost laps. 👍

I'm sitting at 22nd in the North East, and for the moment it looks like the top 16 are clean........ or they really suck because a 1:51 with cutting would be pretty pathetic haha.

I'm committed to keeping my laps super clean too, not cuts/mowing. At most I put 1 tire off, and usually don't plan on it. I even get a lil pissed when I watch some of the top videos on Toscana how they run through the dirt in turn 1 at 165mph.....yeah..... good luck with that in real life.

Luckily it doesnt look like anyone in the SE has exploited this cheat yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

Yep, there they go, go check times on Indy, people are in the low 1:50s and 1:49s, I am watching their replays and seeing the cut, this is going to spread like wildfire.

They should cancel this week and re-do the entire Round 2. I am sure now people are doing it because they believe they have to since the top guys are.

I'm not going to stoop to their level. I wasn't expecting to make round 3 anyways with all the robots out there.

I don't think you have much to worry about there...solid times!

I really hope they acknowledge this deal before the end of the week because it is really going to put the clean drivers who may be on the bubble or close to it in a rough spot come Sunday. :nervous:

Top time is now a 1:48.2 Jeez :dunce:

Golgo is a member on GTP forums and he just ran a 1:49xx

OH GOD, here we go, The SE has its first coner cutter at Indy. This is going to spread fast. I hope something gets done about this before i have no choice but to join in on Sunday

This is a darn good example of why they shouldn't eliminate ghost replays. We wouldn't have known about this. I've loaded a ghost, but I don't watch it, just use it as a check to see how far I'm falling behind. The tracks are pretty straight forward, no need to watch someone do the only thing you can do.

Thanks man. Going to put some solid time into Indy tonight. (without cutting!)

Same here, my goal for tonight is a 1:50.999. Gotta get toscana down to a 1:45.999 at least as well. Time to get serious about this 🤬
The sad thing is that that 1:48.2 without corner cutting probably would have gotten him in the top 16 anyway.

This is so true, and in my opinion, is best the way to approach this situation. As shameful as it is, as long as I can make it through to the next round with purely solid clean racing, I'll still be irked that it was allowed, but won't lose sleep over it because of the implications. Here's my logic. Anybody who uses/has to use the corner cutting will absolutely get their socks blown off in the final round if they make it through. Take TUNERUSA from the west (currently 9th) for example. He ran a 48.859 at Indy by completely blowing the two hardest corners on the track (~2 seconds faster than Dr. Ill's lap), but then is still at a 47.3 at Toscana (~3 seconds slower than cleanest lap). All the top guys are into the 44's and I fully expect we'll see 43's by the end of the week. What this means is that, pending tracks where you actually have to have skill to go fast and can't cut, it'll make round 3 easier for the top guys (not that they need help anyways). Yes it sucks, yes it's horrible, and yes I hate it and wish that those laps were A) invalidated immediately as they should have been, and B) Hope that they don't make it through to the next round. But if I/other GTP'rs can still manage top 16 without it only using our clean racing skills that we all possess, It'll only make it easier for us in the final round.

And since I was founder of the John Deere Club (which is a joke btw) I can honestly say that I hope that none of our "members" will be doing this.

This much is absolutely true; I'd be really upset to see anybody with a GTP tag cutting corners so blatantly like that.

The Cheef

Same. I had a 1:50.xxx last night but screwed up that last tight right hander as usual. :indiff:

I know exactly how you feel, I can't nail that corner for my life. Worst part is I'll be running a 1:50 and then I'll get to that last corner and watch my ghost sail on by.

I hate that corner! Had a handful of laps this morning where I was 2-3 tenths up (would've put me in 50.xxx) going into that corner only to cross the start finish a tenth back..

@Conman - great laps. Is ABS:0 faster with the GT500's? With street cars it's terrible, but I think with rally cars it can be better not to have ABS at all.

I don't think it's necessarily faster, I just got sick of having a stupid driver assist doing something to the car that I was not telling it to do. The norm in GT5 where you have to smash down the brake pedal 100% and rely on ABS just pisses me off to be honest, it's unrealistic in a race car and has forced me to alter my driving style. When I turned it off I could just drive and not have to constantly remind myself to slam the brakes and then trail brake a certain way to get into each corner. With it off, the car did what I told it too, so I kept it off. Most likely I'll run with it back to 1 when/if I choose to rerun Tuscana; it's definitely easier on tire heat hence grip midway through the corner if ABS is on.

and they're off...

i'll just run toscana and stay away from this mess untill its sorted out

What i mean is not allowing you to use the ghost on your hotlaps. I can download and watch for verification, but you can´t chase them.

Anyways, it was just some idea for round 3, but i believe they have a lot more problems to solve.

wow.. damn.. yeah, I'll be pissed if I/other GTP'rs don't make it through to the next round because of cheating that egregious..

Just got off the phone with Playstation. Everyone needs to go to playstation.com/support and report behavior. They said if they get enough people they can get a patch out and reset the times.

Come to think of it, me too. I don't want to put too much time into Indy tonight to have Sony scrap that track or clear the boards. :scared:
