When folks have special requests as such, things like internal clearance limitations, part availability, mechanical issues, standardization and uniformity, pricing, manufacturing and production time, connection issues, shipping costs, prep time, potential interest, etc. can be easily overlooked. When you have thousands to make, and have to make them yesterday, there are things to ponder.

Moreover, that there are thousands enjoying DSD components, my efforts are focused on offering what's proven to be solid performers built from successful ideas. My main goal is to maximize the most benefit to the greatest number of sim racers possible. :)

I'm definitely not complaining I was just curious about your decision to offer it the way you did. I still purchased my two for the April 8th shipment date and I'm going I be very happy when they arrive :).

And I will be happy to get them to you :) Send me your email via PM so I can look up your order. It's not easy on occasion to link a forum name to a customer name :)

Here's an update for those who have a button box, Velocity or FVS II promised to ship on or before March 25th: All orders will ship today. Some orders promised for March 31st and April 8th shipping are shipping today. If you have received your shipping information, then you can consider your order to have shipped today.

NOTE: PLEASE ALLOW A MINIMUM OF 10 TO 15 WORKING DAYS FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS. Check your paypal email of record for your shipping confirmation, and that information is automatically sent when the shipping documents are generated.

Thank you!

I'd like to add some experience here :) I've received a few shipments from DSD and the shipping time can vary quite a bit! BUT everything is shipped the day he says and it is the postal service that varies the time (and I'm dumbstruck as to why...).

Thanks Derek 👍

Here's an update for those who have ordered both side panels (left and right) for shipping promised by March 31st:

All of those who have ordered left and right panels together will have their order shipped tomorrow, March 25. Some folks who ordered one side will also see their order shipped tomorrow, and everyone else will ship by this Friday. If you receive your shipping information, that means your order has shipped.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - AND I MEAN READ:

Allow a minimum of 10 to 15 working days for all international shipments. This question is asked every day. Say it with me now: "10 to 15 working days...10 to 15 working days."
:) :)

Thank you for using my components!!!

@pilmat - the American Post has updated its tracking and confirmation service for shipments to Canada. Now the package can be traced from America into Canada and then to delivery. The American Post also indicates that tracking will be rolled out for all countries over 2013 (I hope!).

Some services offered by the US Post, the most expensive ones, track end to end. However, the economy ones used here at DSD will eventually have end to end tracking over the course of this year...YMMV, of course!

Hi Dereck,

I have a technical question... If I use a miniplate on my G27 wheel, is the G25/G27 aftermarket wheel adaptor still necessary? :sly:

If the wheel rim you use now needs an adapter then you will still need an adapter. Mini Plates are for the G27 only. I don't offer them for the G25.

For the ARMA3-Flight Sim Folks - FS-Immediate Ship!

Hi All,

Here's "Master Sarge" in Olive Drab and Sand - both are ready to ship, and I'll take 115 USD for either of them, shipped anywhere free. These are conceptual boxes, and are identical in function to the popular DSD Track Boss. If you're into shooters or combat sims, Master Sarge has your back!

To claim on or the other, send 115 USD to my paypal at derek.speare@ymail.com - make sure you indicate to me that you want the Green or Sand and make sure to include your shipping address. They can ship out as early as tomorrow AM at zero dark 20.

I'll update the thread when each one has its orders to report for duty. Thanks for looking!

Derek,

On the CSW panels, how come you didn't make one with the two ignition switch on the outside of the box (further away from the wheel) instead of closer to the wheel?

-G

For example, in the attached picture instead of having the covered toggles on the top right they could be good on the top left. Since they aren't used much during the actual race compared to buttons or switches.

Me likes - would be rather nice to go with the HumanRacing Chassis...

Can someone who has owned both the Thrustmaster TH8 RS and the DSD Pro Sequential shifter post their experiences ?

I am building a new rig, and haven't used either one.

Thanks

There's no comparison - if you're a member of iRacing, search up the forums, you'll find a number of my customers' reflections.

My site has some information on the shifter page. The device isn't for sleeping babies, irascible spouses or for the weak of arm or will. There's nothing better than my shifter and there are almost a thousand of my customers who will say the same.

On balance, and to be fair to the TM, for about the same money you get a gated shifter and it's easier to mount. The action isn't one specifically designed to give an accurate sequential feel, but it's a decent "all around" device from what I've come to understand.

Pick what you feel is best.

I have both and after getting my DSD Pro Seq I wouldn't dream of using the TH8 in seq mode again. It's really night and day difference.
The TH8 is an awesome H shifter in it's own right. I would say many (not necessarily all) that use a TH8 for seq probably do so because it does both seq and H so it's convenience more than anything.

That. :) (and cost of purchasing two shifters of course)

I don't have a DSD shifter. However, the only reason I use the TH8RS in that mode is because of this... Does this save money? Yes. Is it ideal? No. Ideal is two separate purpose made shifters. :)

Here are some CAD renders of the Panels which may appeal to the G27/25 folks :)

The frame system is designed to use the Ram Mount RAP-B-102-2U - should the entire system perform like I'd like it to, it would be one kit of everything. You'd get both sides, the under-base mount and the two Rams (the lower frame mounts under the base and doesn't need a hard mount, but you can hard mount it). The frame is 3/8" thick.

d

That set may also work for Csr and Porsche wheels Derek?

The lower mount shown in the render is specifically for the logitech wheels. I don't see a "universal mount" to be on the horizon. My first efforts are to make some prototypes for the G27/5 wheels and test them for it. After that, the T500 could be next - Fanatec was first in line :)

Also, just put in an order on a Pro Sequental. Can't wait :D

Thank you :) :gtpflag:

Derek, can I ask what you put on top of that G25? Somekind of preparation for a SLI or something?
The blue lined bit I mean.

Oddly, that's just a colored surface from the G25 CAD model I used - it's just a part of the model and for some reason a different color. The CAD renders I posted were made quickly :)

I see. A shame for some I suppose. I think some sort of SLI dash on there would look pretty nice.
Still, those boxes look nice mounted beside the wheels I must say. I think a similar design (bottom mount?) is needed for the T500? At least I can't see a secure way to mount it like you did the boxes on the CSW.
Always looking forward to your posts here with interesting designs of handy things and stuff that keep all of us simmers happy. :)

In my case, first I will have to tackle mounting a Cisa rim (old brand from Italy) to your adapter, which has an annoying 7 spoke design. Which will hopefully be here somewhere next week as it's the last 5 of the 15 working days. :)

I have the FVS II on the way. I cant wait to get it. As soon as i have it mounted i will try and upload some pictures.

Win a DSD Black Max II G2 - DSDFTW!

Hi all,

Here's a DSD Black Max II G2. This new design is a subtle but interesting new version of the very popular DSD Black Max II. This particular one is the first pre-production unit, and, as a number of folks know, I'd like to give it out.

HPIM1687.jpg

To get your name into the mix to win, fire an email to dsdftw@derekspearedesigns.com - I will announce the winner's name on Friday, April 12th at 6pm EDT US. You must have your name in the subject line in your email.

This particular device, BTW, is the 150th prize that DSD has awarded via my various contests, sponsorships and other events. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the community and thanks for your interest in my components.

NB - the Black Max II G2 is planned for release later this year :)

GLA!

PS - I must also state that there is a small imperfection on the box shell at the point where the USB connector is located and is a small chip where the slotting machine took a slightly bigger bite than it was supposed to take. It's 99.9% perfect and would otherwise be stored...I can't have that when there's a home out there for it.

Damn that Black Max II V2 is sexy. Gonna put in for that, and will be ordering one soon even if I don't win. You know they say "Black is the new black."

I love it - "Black is the new black"! 👍

Here's a photo some may find interesting:

More on this as time permits :)

"Ram Tabs" for the CSW Wheels

Hi all,

Here's a new kit of components planned to be offered in the next coming weeks. It's the DSD Ram Tab System for the CSW/Forza Elite wheels. What these tabs do is allow you to attach mounts made by Ram Mounts to your CSW wheel and then lets you attach your DSD Device or others in an efficient and ergonomic manner.

The price will be somewhere around 35 USD shipped anywhere (you supply the Ram Mount) and will include all three pieces and the hardware necessary to mount the tabs to your CSW base. (the photo shows the right tab with the paper masking still affixed)

Here's the most economical Ram Mount offered:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160866900870

It's the Ram RAP-B-102-2U - they make a zillion mounts, and I use and recommend them.

http://www.ram-mount.com

Technical details: The DSD Ram Tabs are precision laser cut from 3/8" (~10mm) thick black acrylic. They have a mirror finish and are strong as all day. This is the same material the frames of the DSD CSW Panels use, and it's certain they will do the task asked of them well.

I'm looking for a tester, too: You have to have a CSW Wheel, DSD Sim Racing Controller (Track Boss, Velocity, etc) and a Ram Mount. :)

Thanks for looking - my site will have these up in the next weeks once the first production run is made.

d

Ah, now I kinda understand your replies a bit better, Derek, with regards to my handbrake project. Good luck with yours! ;)
Also I notice you went for s 0.7 bore cylinder. Interesting.

Those ram mount mounts/adapters look really handy. I wonder if they would attach together with the button boxes, or that it might become a bit too... thick, getting too close to the wheel.

What I did today was to see of the tiltons I had bought from you for the Clubsport pedals would fit my T500 pedals, and they did. :)

Here is the result, though they are the old version and aren't as nicely finished as your current offerings I believe. They do the job though.
Maybe I should plug up the screw holes with something, to make it nicer under my feet. I am open to suggestions if you or anyone else has any.
