The winner's name will be announced on Monday, September 2nd at 8pm ET US.

DSD FTW!

Hey Derek, I just checked out that new game that you have a link to above in the window. It is looking real good and I would be interested in it. I'll keep checking on it and see what they are doing with it.
Thanks Derek for the link

P2 - 5-two way toggles, 6 pushbuttons, 5-two way rotary enocders - 109.75 USD

Laser Cut mounting holes on rear of device to accept a standard Ram Mount (two #10-32 x 0.75" screws are provided with each P1/P2)

Here's s tidbit for those who are interested: I have two P2's on hand with black buttons. They are a non standard production version and made simply to evaluate the device. They're ready for a home, and are offered for 99 bucks each, shipped free. To get one or both, send a paypal to orders@derekspearedesigns.com - and please provide your full and complete shipping address. If you claim one of them, your order will ship Monday morning.

You can see the black ones in the "family photo" below:

So the question came up on the iRacing forums about button box labels. Here's what I wrote in recommendation:

We recommend the Brother PTouch Labeling System. Here's exactly one of the ones we use here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brother-P-T...687?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f26a138c7

25 bucks and totally easy to use!

If you want USB connectivity, you can make the labels on your PC and print directly to this one from Brother:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Brother...t=US_Surveillance_Gadgets&hash=item1e7f65a867

The tapes are interchangeable between the devices which makes it good (we use both of them)

You can get the TZe-315 Tape (1/4" - White text on black)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brother-TZe...3692?pt=US_Ink_Cartridges&hash=item460f06f04c

And many other types of tape:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...13&_nkw=brother+ptd200+tze&_sacat=0&_from=R40

I've found that the 1/4" width or 3/8" width is the best. Make sure you that you pay attention to the tape and text colors.

Thank you for using DSD components!

We're most likely going to "fold" this information into the new DSD site on the next update as it's really useful. I want to make sure it's organized first, though.

I will also say that the label printers we recommend make some excellent labels - we use them on everything!

Happy racing! :gtpflag:

Who Likes Short Throw Sequential Shifters? DSD Does!

NB - for my customers who have a DSD Pro Sequential: If there is sufficient demand for a refit service by owners of current shifters, I would consider offering it. However, it would require payment and it would require that the device return home for it. The target fee for a Short Throw refit would be about 65 USD and that would include any other updates/repairs/overhaul/cleaning and also include free worldwide return shipping.

Great News Derek!

The long Throw was the unique thing that I didn´t like of the Sequential shifter. I ve just ordered the "upgrade" and I hope this modification makes the SQ perfect ( or almost perfect ;-) ).

Thanks Derek

PD: Asap I recieve the upgraded shifter, I will update my review

I can assure you that the short travel will be precisely what you're wanting - without question. Everyone who's tested that version likes it. It may eventually become that the Short Throw is the production version and the standard be made when requested.

Hi Derek,

I might in the near future be ordering the upgrade, after I have seen some review of the short throw option :-)

Edit: If I don't win the FTW Short Throw :-D

It's the best shifter you can get, and the best improvement I've designed into it. I'm not modest when it comes to this thing.

GL in the contest...someone will win it!

I am very happy with your current shifter, and it is working like a champ :-)

DSD Affiliate Program - Our Thanks in a Meaningful Way

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your sim racing component needs. I’m privileged to be part of your racing experience, and it’s an honor to make the components I do for your benefit.

DSD is fortunate to have quite a number of folks who recommend our various components to their racing friends, league and other peers. We want to reward you for that recommendation, and we know that a happy customer is the best asset we have. We sincerely appreciate when someone recommends DSD.

That said you can now receive our thanks in a more tangible manner by participating in the DSD Affiliate Program. The DSD Affiliate Program is simple, easy and gives each participant the recognition they deserve for telling their friends to use DSD components.

How the program works is straightforward and uncomplicated. You receive a unique URL link to the DSD site that you can distribute as you like. For example, the sample link would look like this:

http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/sampleaffiliate

That link redirects to the main page on the DSD, but we can track each link accessed with our server logs. The ability to track each link allows us to know from where the traffic came and, most importantly, who sent it. The top referrer each month, then, is the one who receives the reward for that month.

We will offer up a DSD component each month for the top referring affiliate. The rewards will be any particular button box such as a Track Boss, Black Max II, FVS II, etc. or a Pro Sequential Shifter and other valuable goodies like even DSD swag, cash money (via paypal) or iRacing Credits. We hope these small gifts are received in the spirit we want to give them and will serve as a way to show our gratitude for something many of you already do – I like to say “thank you” in meaningful ways.

To get started, hit up this link and fill in the requested information:

http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/affiliate

You may also write directly via email to affiliate@derekspearedesigns.com and provide the information found on the form on the same page.

Some Rules and Conditions:

You are not authorized to circulate the URL you will be provided into an email campaign or other mass marketing effort transmitted via the internet, and you are not authorized to use posting bots or other means to disseminate the URL you will be provided. This is not an effort to accomplish the exposure goals in a way that would undercut the spirit of gratitude we have for our friends and customers who take the time to recommend our components. We don't want someone to use a method to distribute their URL which gives them an "unfair" advantage or participate in poor taste.

You are encouraged to post your URL in the signature line of your various forum posts. If you're more savvy, you can also use the DSD banner in your signature by posting this line of HTML into your forum signature options:

Code:
<a href="http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/YOURURL" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/download/dsdsigbanner.jpg"></a>

Thanks again for your interest, participation and enthusiasm for the DSD Affiliate Program! We hope to see everyone receive a reward for taking the time to recommend our components!

PS - there is an autoresponder setup on the email address above. It may be delayed a bit to receive your automatic reply. You will receive your unique URL from that same address within 24 hours of when you sent the email or submitted the form. I'm finding the internet doesn't seem to work as quickly as I do :)

Derek quick question - do you recommend White on Transparent ? (for a carbon fibre plate)

White on black looks very nice, actually. I use that type myself :) :gtpflag: There are some other colors on black as well. I think you can still get red and blue on black. I think gray as well.

Sorry Derek, I meant the White writing on 'transparent' tape? That way I can put it on the carbon fibre plate and the black tape doesn't stick out ?

Each man must choose what suits his needs the best. It's really impossible for me to guess in all cases :) :)

what kind of board do I need to use with in conjunction with the stand alone load cell amp. The reason I ask is i have a DIY CST pedal set a Symproject Pro race and a some what faulty Leo load cell amp board.

Hi all,

The folks at rSeat have incorporated a mount to accommodate the DSD Pro Sequential. Here's one of their photos:

rseat_fr_dsdmount.jpg

We certainly appreciate that an rSeat has this type of mount right out of the box and is as strong as you'd expect from a solid chassis like the rSeat is :)

Caz
Very nice. Bet that brought a smile to you.

The folks at rSeat make a super strong chassis and it's easy on your wallet. Mounting the DSD Pro Sequential just got easier when you have an rSeat :) :)

Anything for a some ebrake?

Go a few pages back and you'll find the DSD Hydraulic Handbrake. It's a special order component and is 395 USD (free worldwide shipping).
