HI Derek,
you should consider to find out a mounting solution integrated to the shifter, it would help lots of users and probably you will sell more shifters, if you manage to stay within current prices.
just a thought

Thank you, Antonio - Enjoy your Black Max! DSD Shifters are offered as shown on our site. :gtpflag:

Hi Derek. Aer you going to do any more runs of the short shifter plates for the TH8 RS?

This is an active component set, but it's not high priority because of the demand. We'll do more and the DSD site will be updated when we have them to offer again. Thank you :)

I have sent my DSD sequential shifter to be repaired and to switch it to the short throw new version and I can tell you that I did the best thing! the new version is much better than the old one and it gives a better shifting feeling!
Every one should make this upgrade!👍:)

Hey Derek,

I wanted to let you know I got my "Black Max ll" button box a few days ago (Monday 01-13-2014) and I've been trying to get it and my "Track Boss" all in the mount together and setup correctly in my console/arm rest and I've got it fairly close to being done. Just a few more little details left.👍 When I get it all finished I'll post some pic's for you here and in your Website. I've only got to try a few buttons and one of the re-a-stat switch (I can't think:confused: ((Brain Dead)) :dunce:right now the real name of it) so far, and it seem's sooooo sweet:lol: I know I'll love it as I do the rest of the products I've ordered from your company.

Thanks so much for your help on this special project you did for me:bowdown:

Take Care and God Bless

I'm trying to wrap my head around how the two-way rotary encoders work. It's behaves like a left/right switch. Or up/down switch. Right? You don't actually keep turning them 360 degrees like a dial, do you? It's you turn and then they return to center? Or is this wrong? If they don't return to center, what functions can you actually apply to them in a sim? Seems like it'd be of very limited use if it doesn't return to center.

I'll have a go at answering this from how I use encoders (Derek or somebody else with better knowledge can clarify my simplistic answer):

There is no return mechanism of stop on an encoder.

A rotary encoder send information on which way it is being turned and for how long it is being turned, so it works mechanically like and endless screw. You use it to control something like brake bias and it ends up functioning like a brake bias knob in a race car: as long as you turn it in that direction, you will keep winding the brakes to that end of the car. The difference with encoder is that you can turn it "past the stop" in that you can keep going after the computer says the adjustment has hit it's limit. But the great bit is that the first motion in the opposite direction will start moving the other way.

Another thing with the encoder, depending on the software, it can be speed sensitive. If you turn it fast you can get coarser adjustments. I don't know any sim that can benefit from this, but it theoretically possible.

Hi all,

Well, after two years and many, many thousands of dollars and hours of effort, I have two pedal options to bring the Racing Sim Community. These photos are "spy shots" of one of the configurations of what's planned.

Note - the test mule in the photo is a working prototype and has been in testing for 4 months. The production version is more refined and better photos are coming.

This version is a load cell based setup and should be offered at the sub eight hundred dollar range plus shipping, and shooting for 795. Throttle and clutch use million life cycle pots and the brake uses a 100kg load cell element. There is another version and more on that soonest.

Ordering will be made from the DSD site and I'll make the announcement when that opens up. There will be no lists or anything and orders will be guaranteed to ship in no more than 21 days from when the order is placed, and many thousands of DSD customers know we don't miss shipping dates.

These are built from Wilwood Racing pedals - what's used in real world race cars. The pedals will be offered ready to use out of the box and on their own anti-static, rigid plastic baseplate.

Since DSD is vertically integrated we don't need to rely on others for circuit boards and each set will be fitted with the DSD 12bit controller w/ integrated load cell amp.

The silver parts and other parts attached to the rack are proprietary DSD engineered parts. You can literally take off the DSD parts and mount the Wilwood rack into your real race car if you wanted. I don't think it makes sense to use anything else!
