Hi Derek

I have seen your products on various shows (ISR) on YouTube and attached to other people's rigs in forums etc, but never actually visited your site, I thought all your products catered for the PC sim crowd only, at the time of writing I am only a PS3 guy...

I saw your Tilton style pedals on a few YT videos attached to some CS pedals and couldn't help but hope you might make them for the G27. I decided to pay you a visit...and you do!

I have ordered a set this morning and can't wait for them to drop through my letterbox!

After having a good look around your site, I am now considering getting an after market wheel which will mean I will need one of those gorgeous looking wheel plates as well as an adaptor and extended paddle shifters...you are feeding the modding bug that has bitten me!

I will post pics once those bad boys arrive and I have fixed them to my pedals!

Hello Pip - thank you for your order. All USB components we manufacture are PC only. However, the various components we make can be used by anyone for their sim racing enjoyment whatever the platform is :gtpflag:

Thank you, kind sir :) I have a few more tricks up my sleeves, too ;)

I still wish you would release a GT style pedal, I would be interested in a heartbeat. Your F1 style pedal are quality built which is quite evident from your images. With that in mind I have no doubt you could do the same for a GT style pedal.

I remember what Todd from CST said in an interview with Shaun when he was still with ISR, he stated when asked, that 50% of all his orders were GT style pedals.

I have been eyeing up those 'various components', I think it's just a matter of 'when' and not 'if'!

I'm stalking a suede Momo wheel on ebay at the moment, as soon as I make it mine I will be ordering an adapter, extended paddles and mini-plate!

Cheers Derek

Here's a photo of what's remaining to ship Monday. They're all tested and packed out for shipment. Thank you and happy racing! :)

I see one pedal with a smooth face, will that be an option when ordering? Can those rough surfaces be removed?

One man received his order in three days - no hassle. Another got to the UK in three days and spent 10 days there. They charged 22 BPS.

All DSD Shipments are declared as "Gift" with a 25 USD value. We provide no other paperwork other than the required US Customs forms affixed to the shipping carton. Each recipient is, of course, responsible for whatever impositions the receiving nations require. We ship thousands of orders around the world, the overwhelming majority sail on thru.

Here's an update for April 14th: April 14th pedal orders have shipped. Round Three has sold out and will ship on or before May 6th. We're also offering a deposit program for those who are interested in locking in their place on the queue for Round Four and to lock in the discounted pricing we've been offering so far.

The "Early Bird Deposit Program" is a fully refundable deposit of 65 USD. We will send you an email by May 6th to allow you to finalize your order. That email will be sent at least 24 hours in advance of when the open ordering begins for Round Four and is fully refundable if you wish not to make an order. Please see this page from the DSD Site for more details:

Got so tired of the double shifting from my TH8RS because of the motion simulator that I decided to place an order for the Pro Sequential Short Throw shifter. The TH8RS need some mechanical pressure to prevent unintentional shifting and the switching is way to early in the throw. The DSD shifter looks awesome and the reviews of the shifter gets a lot of thumbs up from everyone.
All we need now from DSD is an all steering unit to make it a complete sim package. Hint hint lol

Thank you to everyone who are enjoying DSD Components. Wheels...the reality of the issue is that we'd need to develop a suitable motor controller, and that takes some effort. It would be ideal to work with a specialist who develops that type of hardware to have him design something according to our specifications. If there's a wheel in the future of DSD, it won't be for a long time :)

Hi folks - here's an update for April 17th:

All button controllers promised for shipping by April 18th have shipped today. All shifter orders made up until right now will ship by Monday. Thank you! :gtpflag:

Post production release notes - DSD Pedals - April 18th:

1 - Some customers are reporting calibration difficulties in Assetto Corsa. We have duplicated the conditions these folks are reporting and have tested and verified a reliable manner to use your pedals in that title. To designate your pedals for use in Assetto Corsa, it's necessary that when you click the area to assign a particular pedal that you have depressed somewhat that pedal when you are clicking the field to set it in the AC Options. If you click where AC will state, "Waiting for Input" there is a chance that anomalous behaviour will occur. Pressing the pedal and then clicking to assign it in AC is a reliable way to designate it properly. We have contacted KS to request that their controller designation routines allow for more polling cycles to detect a greater change in values so to prevent control assignment difficulties. We hope they will make some adjustments to their program prior to their official release.

2 - Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 Compatibility: All of our USB Devices are Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 compatible. We have thoroughly conducted extensive tests of our devices over many years to ensure proper and reliable use;

3 - All DSD USB devices are for Windows PC. This is a point we state in many places on this site. Here it is again;

4 - A brushed aluminum heel rest cover is now a standard choice for those who want the optional heel rest;

5 - Early Bird Deposit Program: Should Round Three sell out (which it has) with others wanting to make an order, we will accept a nominal deposit for Round Four with the 100 dollar discounted pricing we've been offering thus far. The shipping date for Round Four is May 28th. The deposit is 65 USD and will be applied to your Round Four order.

If you make a deposit for Round Four you will receive an email alert on May 6th with a link to order your pedal set ahead of the general ordering folks. You'll have 24 hours to make the payment and doing so locks you into your pedal order ahead of the rush. Should you want to release your position on the queue, your deposit will be refunded in full. The Early Bird Deposit Program is our best way to accommodate those who have missed out on past rounds and will lock them into a solid position ahead of new orders for Round Four. Certainly we don't want folks to be left on the side if we can prevent it.

6 - A CNC aluminum base plate and elevated heel rest are planned for later this year as an upgrade option. More on that when we have more to show you.

Hi All,

Here are some popular DSD components coming soon:

HPIM2103.jpg

The DSD Universal Adapter for G25/27 wheels allows those who want to use an aftermarket rim such as Momo, Sparco, OMP or others (with a 70mm hex) to attach them to the Logitech base. It's 5/8" thick, solid 6061 aluminum made from the precision CNC process. It will come with M5 screws and will be 47.75 USD and will be shipped worldwide for free. ETA: 30 days. This will be an option alongside of the standard adapter of that type we offer.

The DSD Extended Wheel Paddles will be offered soon as well. Those are CNC cut from 1/16" 6061 aluminum. Self tapping screws will be provided and the price will be 31.75 USD for a pair in three different lengths. ETA: 30 days. The existing paddles we offer will be retired and replaced with the aluminum type. They will ship worldwide for free as well. Orders will be made from the DSD Site.

Thank you,

Derek Speare

They look great Derek! I definitely are going to get the Aluminum paddles for my 330mm omp wheel on my G27! ;-)

What about getting your DSD logo printed/laser cut into the paddles like the wheel adapter? Would suit it quite well :-)

Best Regards,

Hello All,

I'm pretty sure that most folks know about DXTweak. It's a utility that allows you to make certain adjustments on various Windows Game Controllers and allows you to fine tune them for optimal performance. Note that iRacing doesn't need such a program but other sim racing titles that use DirectInput like Assetto Corsa, rFactor2. etc. can benefit from using it.

My post is constrained to our USB hardware, specifically, our 12bit controller. We advise our customers that use this device outside of iRacing to use DXTweak to allow them control over things such as dead zones and analogue axis ranges. Moreover, it's a great way to make unused analogue axis inputs entirely silent to eliminate any calibration difficulties that some folks can experience. To do that, refer to this graphic:

6360522_orig.png

We'll assume that the DSD 12bit controller is used and that it's used for pedals, those pedals being connected to the last three inputs. Those last three inputs are "X-Rotation, Y-Rotation and Z-Rotation". The unused axis inputs of X, Y and Z are not being used.

To remove any unused input "chatter" download DXTweak, run it. You will need to click the "Next" in the dialog box that appears where the enumerated game controllers are indicated until you reach the one named "DSD 12Bit Controller - ES". When you have that one, you will then need to manually set the X, Y and Z axis inputs to specific values. Refer to the above graphic.

Click on the Z-Axis, Y-Axis and X-Axis tabs and manually enter these values:

MAX: 1024
CEN: 512
MIN: 1

Once you have done that for ALL THREE axis inputs (only the Z-Axis, Y-Axis and X-Axis), click the Apply button and then the Close button. When you have completed this in DXTweak you can now set the pedal inputs in your non iRacing title without any trouble.

Here's a link for DXTweak from the DSD Site:

http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/download/DXTweak2.exe

Note that in most cases such a program isn't needed, but there are some times where it helps things along when they can be stubborn.

Happy racing!

64 Buttons - No Hassle! No Matrix! No BS!

The DSD 64 button controller is the heart of our "Trackzilla". We call this one, "Boardzilla"
wink.png
You can connect standard momentary pushbuttons, on/off toggles, rotary switches and rotary encoders until you go crazy. The device is essentially two of our 32 button controllers on one USB device (our proprietary configruation program is needed for on/off toggles, R.Switches and R.Encoders - configure once and forget it!)

HPIM2107.jpg

IF we release it it will be somewhere around 58-59 USD shipped worldwide for free. NOTICE: Only iRacing and Assetto Corsa will address all 64 button inputs. Other titles only see the first 32 (we're working on a Windows application that will allow you to map the buttons greater than 32 to keypresses so you can use it anywhere you want).

I think it has more button options than virtually any racing sim will use :gtpflag:
