trying to get into racing, just got "!the call" last night, asked if I wanted to race in a 2cv 24hr endurance race. heheh, those cars are slow and ugly, but it should be good fun and experience!

How exactly do you guys get into real races? How do you get into those "proffesional" races like the things you mentioned above. I'm 14 and I would like to get some, if any, driving experience. What were the steps you took to get into races that you mention. What I really want to know is how exactly you guys got started. Cause I know to go pro, you probably have to start out small and maybe build up a rep so other "bigger" people will hear of your name.

buy a go kart. not those cheesy offroad ones, a real race kart. they are unbelievably fast, and not amateurish at all. I suggest poking around kartingforum.com and/or finding a kart track/shop around where you live. poke your head around a bit and ask questions.

Im not exactly sure what type of racing you are talking about doing, but mastering karting will definately prepare you for higher forms of racing.
