Wonder what the story is behind the GT logo on Dave Wilson's top fuel dragster (on the scoop)
Also has a Playstation 3 sticker beneath the exhaust!

Just let us drag race the normal cars featured in GT and I'll be happy. I remember screenshots of GT4 with 2 muscle cars lined up at the dragstrip. Is it really THAT hard for them to implement a straight line track and an AI car that drives straight at full throttle? I mean seriously....
Exactly, what's the catch?Just let us drag race the normal cars featured in GT and I'll be happy. I remember screenshots of GT4 with 2 muscle cars lined up at the dragstrip. Ooohh yea... Gotta have dose!
............How is that camaro stock when it's super tuned? lol I do not get it...
And why NASCAR is called STOCK CAR racing when every car is ultra tuned?
I always STOCK means straight out from Factory..someone explain it please
I don't think it fights against the "original idea" of Gran Turismo. In fact I think it's a part of the "original idea" of the game. I mean PD even mentioned to include drag racing in Gran Turismo 2, but 2 drag cars was all we got.I like the idea of having drag cars in GT5, but it fights against the original idea of Gran Turismo. (IMO)
That the cars in the game are everyday cars instead of just race cars/super cars.

Thats your thoughts alright. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who think drag racing could be really fun, if PD makes it realistic. In real life, if you drive a 1000hp car on the strip, you can't release the steering wheel and just relax, far from it.My thoughts on this are....Unless they release a G-Force suit which replicates the G-Force of been in a dragster then I couldn't think of anything more boring to do in a game than race in a straight line and then stop - wheres the fun in that in the virtual world - you might as well play this
http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/trainsim.aspx
which i guesss would be more fun as you can see more scenary and go round bends etc.
Couldn't agree more! 👍Drag racing is a race that comes down to tenth's of a second. Not a lot of margin for error. If you red light, your out.If you are sleeping at the tree (reaction time),your out.If you miss a shift, your out.If you spin the tires coming off the line, your out.If you veer off line and are unable to hold a straight line, your out.All this plus more has to all come together within a matter of seconds, tenth's of a second. If your unable to put it all together, then you have to put it on the trailer and try again the following weekend.Unlike a race which has multiple laps where if you mess up,you have time to to collect yourself together and get going again.
BTW - I am not dissing on those of you who do not like drag racing or not wanting it in the game.I have drag raced before,I know what it takes to be competitive to drag race.It is not as easy as some would apply it to be.Just for kicks, for those of you who never have done drag racing before, take your car,go to the local drag strip and try it out,it's not as simple as just mashing the gas and seeing who hits the 1320 mark first.
just my .02 , thanks

Yup, for sure.. There is a little bit of this in GT5P though, but far from enough.Thats always been a problem with GT, cars dont accelerate straight.. PD needs to implement the wheel spin and make the car sway, torque and stuff...
I would love drag racing in GT5.
In GT4 i would go to the test track and do a 400m run with, lets say a BMW M3, then save the replay and choose another car( an Audi S4 for eg.) - go back to the test track and load the M3's 400m run, and run against it.
I had hours of fun pitting M5's against E55's and WRX's against Evo's etc.
If GT5 could make this easily accessible instead of going through that to compare different cars acceleration capabilities, it would be awesome!
I feel that drag racing should be in the game.PD does not have to implement their versions of drag cars, just give us our livery editor and our parts houses and we will build our own cars,What could be more fun than turning everyday street cars into fine tuned drag race cars.
