bad start to seasons for me engine damage 1st lap then disconnected on 10th lap. Really disapointed had my car setup great and just had no luck what so ever

A good start to the season for me. 4th place in only my second ever complete race in the DTM. Highest ranking car without ballast going into the next race (what track is it?) as well which is good.

Supra is clearly very fast and Teeds has very good strategy (I think it is the exact opposite of my strategy) and is also fast. I didn't actually test so I will test a good bit for round 2 and then hopefully challenge for 1st/2nd since today, it was a lack of testing, poor car setup and one or two mistakes which lead to Pipi having the gap to me that he had. Hoepfully next time will be even better.

yeah that finish order is correct.

I thought that only the top three get ballast. Oh well. The ballast difference between me and the guys in front remains the same.

1st 40kg 2nd 30kg 3rd 20kg 4th 10kg is the ballasts. I think la sarthe is next but not sure tbh

Very Pleased about my 1st win in the DTM series don't know what happened to Goruk tho looking forward to the next race were I hope to cement my position in the championship.

Goruk had a better chance but he wasted it.

^ yeah goruk looked good in that race don't know what happened to him, I was like a 1min behind after what happened on 1st lap and had no chance of winning think I would of caught a few people if I didn't get disconnected anyway teeds / astra won last season.

It just not my track, i go easy to not make any mistake, just one side road, nothing especial and very equilibrated car for 3 set of tires, but a little slow with soft. I'm happy with my 3 TH place.

No man, my setup sucks (sorry antz) and after 3 or 4 spans I had enough, I wasn't in the mood (after a discussion with GF) for racing tonight....
Hope to come strong next week... If someone decide what track we racing on....

It's either monza, grand valley,rome,la sarthe/monaco last two have same amount of votes from registered members but la sarthe has more overall votes and nurb GP/F is always last race. So.........

Might as well do my own mini first race report while I remember..

Managed to get a good start, although it was a bit messed up as Supra was behind Goruk on the inside and not on the outside where he should of been, and I was trying to get on the inside of Golfer (to my position) but he was way too close to me so I couldn't get into the right position, which explains why I started on the outside.

Me, Goruk and Supra were in a small pack for the first few laps, and rocketed away from the rest of the pack quite quickly. I held back a bit so as not to get caught up in Goruk and Supras battle for the lead, although there was good opportunity on overtaking Supra which I should of took but regretted later on when I started falling away. Few laps later I went a little too fast into Degner, ended up getting a wheel onto the gravel and I crashed right into the barrier, ending my battle for the lead. Seeing as it was lap 8 I decided to go with Hard tyres and and put in some consistent laps. After losing quite a few places, on lap 20 I pitted for Mediums thinking everyone else would be on hards and that I would catch up quickly. lol. That didn't happen, and although I passed a few drivers, I was still quite far back and my inconsistency did not help atall. Think I was in 5th, still within reach of a 3rd place finish, I made the same mistake at Degner again, crashing into the same barrier again with a lot of damage. Annoyed the hell out of me, and after another pitstop I caught onto Supra's draft when he lapped me and started getting quite close, until the last chicane where I braked too late and had to hit another barrier so as to avoid Supra.

Overall it was a shocking first race for me, threw away a good starting position in 3rd, but I guess it is my own fault for not practising much before the race. Hopefully my next race will be a bit more successful, wherever it may be 👍
