Biffy I normally run on hards for the least amount of time possible which is 7 or 8 laps not matter how bad your softs/meds are they are normally faster than a fresh set of hards.

Cool JT is la sarthe a grid start or rolling I can't remember

At least the Audi should be good at a grid start

Yeah I put my hards on early thinking that I wouldn't have to pit again and so would catch up, then I realised what a stupid mistake I had made :yuck:

Grid start for la Sarthe. We had a formation lap a couple of seasons ago and it took ages and leader took off before the guys at the back got round the 2nd last chicane. I think it'll be the 1st grid start in GT5DTM history.

Was the 20 minute qualifying at the start enough time? Wanted to get the race started on time. Need to start sticking to the official start time. On that note, what is everyones opinion on pushing the start time back 30 or 60 minutes to accomodate some guys? Would mean an 11pm BST/midnight CET ish finish time.

Well done to toyotasupra for his first DTM win.
Must read rules again though, as 5 minutes before qualifying begins is not the time to ask about the tyre rules. If anyone doesn't understand any of the rules then this forum is the place to ask, not the race screen.

I think having 10.30pm BST finish is the latest I could really do. School in the morning and all. I can push it if that is the decision but otherwise, I would prefer the 10pm finish.

^ theres a button on the 1st page of this form just click that and follow the instructions also make sure you read the rules.

Well... not everybody showed up last race so if you register on gt5dtm.webs.com i'm sure we will find a spot for you

I can't really do any later myself i'm affraid, especially as we over ran several times last season.

I'm most of the time done within 10 minutes so 20 would be fine for me. Unless I have to break up a session to kick people out. (but... as a smoker i like the extra waiting time before the start of the race ).

I think we should stick to the current time then (at least for this season) because that was the time everyone signed up for.

Lets go for La Sarthe for race 2.
Normally go for:
Race 1 - Most Votes
Race 2 - 5th
Race 3 - 3rd
SS
Race 4 - 4th
Race 5 -2nd
Race 6 - GP/F or GP/D

Then I come to the following schedule:

Race 1 Suzuka
Race 2 La Sarthe
Race 3 Grand Valley
SS ?
Race 4 Rome
Race 5 Monza
Race 6 Nurburg GP/F

Monaco came out 7th but I don't think that's a suitable track for the Special Stage. I think that must be a track where lots of overtaking can take place. So maybe a special vote for the Special Stage?

^ Special Stage Route 7 lol plenty of room for overtaking lol :)

also see when we have a rolling start it says in rules that pole car has the inside line into the 1st corner, so 2nd place must be on the outside of pole car. If you all line up behind the pole car its not a 2x2 rolling start and If I'm like 7th I have no Idea what side I'm ment to be on if everyone has just lined up behind pole.

that's easy Green, odd numbers on the inside (1,3,5,7,9,etc) even nunbers on the outside(2,4,6,8,etc) easy as that...

yeah but I normally just follow car infront If he goes inside i go outside and when all 6 cars infront are on inside you wonder how many people actually read the rules. Anyway won't matter in next race ...... :).

I just take the other line than the car in front of me...

Edit: just like green lol

Need to practice la sarthe again :grumpy: takes bloody ages to get round wish you could practice indivdual corners on GT5 sometimes theres just one or two corners that you want to find the fastest way round and you have to drive for 3 - 4 min before you get to it and when you get there you fudge it lol :dunce: :ouch:

Lol

teammate I want that track well-trained, hahahha

Don't worry pipi I will be ..... ;)

LOL golfer :scared::scared::scared::scared:

But I think a nurburgring 24hr 2 lap Knockout session would be good the track requires skill and over 2 laps has plenty of overtaking points It's also a track that we're never gona really do because longer races just become boring with no overtaking. It also has no SNOW lol

Good to see we are talking about thespecial stage early this season. Hopefully the new format will mean more drivers taking part in what, traditionally, is a poorly attended week.
Quote from the rules & regs:

10 - Special Stage|
10.1 - Special Stage will take place on Week 4 between races 3 and 4.|
10.2 - Three rounds on the same track (Track TBD).|
10.3 - Round 1. Racing:Soft tyres. Top 8 progress to Round 2. Others get points depending on their finishing positions in Round 1.|
10.4 - Round 2. Racing:Medium tyre. Top 4 progress to Final Round. Others get points depending on finishing positions in Round 2.|
10.5 - Final Round. Racing:Hard tyres. Points depending on finishing positions in Final Round.|
10.6 - Qualifying for Round 1 is same as normal DTM4 race.|
10.7 - Qualifying for Round 2 and Final Round is Reverse Grid of previous Round (minus those who missed the cut)|
10.8 - Grid start for all SS Rounds.|
10.9 - Each Round should last 15-20 minutes and the time between each Round will be no more than 5 minutes.|
10.10 - It is the drivers responsibility to ensure their car has the correct tyres fitted for the particular Round. |
10.10.1 - Any tyre irregularity during SS will result in DQF and no points being awarded. Even if it happens in Final Round.|

My vote is for Daytona Road Course. Good mix of fast and slow sections, high speed chicanes, space for overtaking....not a city track with walls..... etc.
