you do have a point there. This and the fact that details or even a little anything would have been leaked already.No. It's based on GT5 and GTPSP and GT4 and GT3.
GTPSP was supposed to be a port of GT4 for the handheld, and it was supposed to come out fairly soon in the PSP's life (launch window, most likely) considering it was announced at the same time the system was. 5 years later, PD dumped what was basically some framework and some licence tests that they forgot to design a game around.
GT4 was originally supposed to come out sometime before Christmas of 2003. They delayed it a year and ultimately gave it a release date of 12/3/2004 for Japan and 12/14/2004 for America, and then delayed it again not even a month before the release date (by little under a month for Japan, 2 months for America) and stripped the online mode from it at the last minute.
GT3 was originally supposed to be something along the lines of an enhanced GT2 that would come out on the PS2 launch. Then it got pushed back to the U.S. lauch. Then it got pushed back a few more months, at which point Sony gave up and decided that they wanted GT3 as it ended up being instead. Then Kaz personally held up development of the game to add more cars to the game, then did it again to add a few concept cars (Acura RSX, Nissan 350z concept, Mazda RX-8) from the Detroit Motor Show when the game was originally meant to come out a month prior to that show in Japan.
The only reason GT5 gets most of the attention is because:
- It had the biggest profile delays and the longest development time.
- Kaz would not stop talking about how the game was in the can and ready for release over a year before it eventually came out, and that they kept delaying it to make it "perfect."
- They made an absolutely monster deal about the final, set in stone release date for the game, and then missed it anyway.
But that precedent started long before GT5. You can say what you want about PD's skills, but time management is not one of them; and arguably never was even back in the GT2 days.
We shouldn't forget they had a huge earthquake and tsunami and have moved all or some staff and there families to the other side of the country.
How ever long GT6 takes I hope that PD keep supporting GT5 with new content right up until GT6 is nearing completion.
GT6's announcement will come after Sony announces the PS4.
Probably nothing at E3. I think we won't see anything GT related until PS4 is shown (assuming GT6 is a PS4 title).
Agreed. GT5 is already pushing the limit of the current engine for graphics. Especially since 3D technology is becoming more affordable I highly doubt GT6 for ps3. GT6 will more than likely be a PS4 launch title.
Guys, guys... GT5 already pushing the PS3 in terms of graphics have nothing to do on whether or not GT6 will be released for the PS4. There are plenty of other things to improve on other than graphics you know, that will make it a probable release for the PS3. Plus, look at games like the next God of War, which is to be released for the PS3, and we all know how good GOW3 looks like. I doubt GOWIV will look dramatically better. Even more simply, look at Call of Duty. That thing has been running on the same engine for ages!
So yes, GT6 doesn't have to have a dramatic increase in graphics or physics capability, especially knowing the fact that the game's engine can already run the Nurb. 24hr. with 12-16 cars, dynamic weather, and day/night transition! We just need more of that on new tracks, cars, and events. Just looking at the GT Academy demo and its menu screen/design is refreshing enough to grasp at. I think it's time for GT6 soon. I'm hoping 2013.
...Agreed. GT5 is already pushing the limit of the current engine for graphics. Especially since 3D technology is becoming more affordable I highly doubt GT6 for ps3. GT6 will more than likely be a PS4 launch title.
The only way GT 6 will be shown or even mentioned at E3 is if Sony reveals details about the next PlayStation and GT6 ends up being announced as a maybe release title.
Otherwise, nah.
fureddoBearing in mind the 10 year lifespan for the PS3, it's still too early to talk about a new Playstation.
fureddoOnly a few studios can develop games at native 1080p with butter smooth 60fps.
Agree:tup:
I highly doubt it and I hope not. If these rumors of the next gen consoles are true, and we do see a new console soon, GT6, I hope, should be launch title. We don't want them to put the work into this game and have it launch at the end of the consoles life cycle. It's happened in the past where a really good game is launched at the end of consoles life cycle and never gets the attention it should *cough* Conker's *cough* *cough*
As much as I'd like it, take the extra time, put the extra polish on it and launch with a fresh new console that can handle what Kaz wants to do with the series.
You want GT6 on PS4, you add two extra years to whenever the system comes out. Simple as.I highly doubt it and I hope not. If these rumors of the next gen consoles are true, and we do see a new console soon, GT6, I hope, should be launch title. We don't want them to put the work into this game and have it launch at the end of the consoles life cycle.
No it doesn't. It runs native 720p with 4xAA when you have it set to 720p. When you have it set to 1080p it runs 1280x1080 with 2xAA and uses resolution tricks have have it display at 1920x1080.GT5 runs in nativ 720p @ 45-60 FPS.
...There is no way it will be announced. If it is announced, well it shouldnt be. GT5 needs all the cars to be premium before even considering putting out another game on the PS3. IF it is announced, it better be announced for the PS4.
