There is your (read English fans) problem. Most, if not all of you, seem to have this great sense of entitlement. "England played great!", "England deserved to win!". Bollocks.

No doubt, England have great players but face it, in world terms, they are only slightly above average. If they had such a "great" game, they should have cantered it, especially after going 1-0 up after 200 seconds.

Take my view. If out national team loses by less then 2 goals, it is a moral victory :)

OMG STFU WE WON TEH WORLD CUP U NO WE AM DE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111

That ENGLAND thing is over now, let's have a look at the upcoming game tonight.

Greece - France

This game could be very interesting, IF.............france is finally going for it.
And these Greek guys should be able to SPARKLE.
I actually hope that Greece will win but my comen sense says France will.

Greece 1-3 France

Im going for Greece in the Greek and French game, i cant stand the aggorgant french. (no offense to any here i just have a personal grugde since 2000). It will be good for greece if they do. I believe greece hasnt been this far for a long time.

I know what you mean Mike but its kind of what I meant too. I meant that the press and the commentators always say that "we played our hearts out but still lost" and it was that I was referring to and how it annoys me as an Englishman.
Im not making sense really and apologies for mentioning the England thing again. :nervous: !!!

So tonight its France all the way I think - it seems to be the most sensible choice. My vote is 2-0 to France.

Boooo, damn Arsenal supporter.

Come on de Greeks! :D:tup:

Nikos Dabiszas (sp), if he is playing will concede a handball in the fifth minute. Saha is replacing Trezeguet foo'.

Does anyone here have any Greek blood? My mother is Greek Cypriot. I would appreciate all the support you guys can help me give to the Greek side.

That was a foul anywhere in the world. The keeper can NOT be touched in that area and he was impeded to reach for the ball.

Wrong.

John Terry - who kept his eyes on the ball throughout - went up for a header. Have you tried keeping your arms down while jumping? The goalkeeper made contact with him. At no point did Terry move towards the keeper - the keeper moved towards him. He wasn't impeded trying to reach the ball - he attempted to push an opposing player out of the way for the ball.

If there was a foul committed, it was on John Terry, by the keeper.

DiabolicalMask
Before you blame the referee for that, think about Cole.
He should have been booked earlier and by the time he saw the first yellow card he should have been expelled.

And is that not the referee's fault as well? Or does someone else decide who to book these days?

Two wrongs do not make a right.

EDIT: Famine, I only now saw your predictions for this game. You shouldn't have said all that nonsense...

Why not? I was right. Figo did nothing but look grumpy - Portugal's goal came after he went off. Sol Campbell kicked Nuno Gomes all over the park - he was reduced to shooting from outside the box where Campbell couldn't get him. Ronaldo ran about a lot and fell over.

Maniche was the best Portuguese player on the pitch.

Yeah mate whatever - I think if the ref would have disallowed a goal like that scored by Portugal you wouldn't have even posted in this thread. I bet if the ref saw the "incident" again he'd have given the goal. Terry jumped higher than the keeper could reach so it looked like he was being impeded.
Oh for ****'s sake mate! Open your damn eyes and stop being stubborn!!

He wasn't being impeded?!?!? Look at Terry's arm!!

I'm sick of this subject...

BigJamesGTI
Whatever - England played the better football but Portugal had the better ref and we all know which is going to help you win the game.
About this, a lot of people have already commented (including what looks like to be the only realistic 'Englander' around here - Race Idiot).

I'm not going to bother...

Read the above post. I'm not talking about this anymore.

Look at what I said: "But I agree Urs Meier isn't a good referee."
You know damn well I was talking about your partiality...
You should have mentioned both decisions then, you see?
You almost implied that England lost because of the referee. That's what I meant.

well, refferees always make some mistakes....not everything is what it looks like...and no one is perfect. Choosing sides however is a whole different piece of cake.

Looking back at last night's match, the refferee wasn't really bad and he certainly wasn't choosing sides 👍

Oh yes you are...

Okay, I will back Famine on this one (as I am completely impartial..Welsh). John Terry never looked at the kepper, he never went to block the keeper. He blocked straight up, yes he raised his arms, but who doesn't? And as the commentary went, the keeper put himself in a poor position.

No - I SAID that England lost because of the referee. He ruled out a perfectly good goal. One I might add which was given by the assistant referee on that side of the pitch who had a much better view.

Your picture was pointless and silly. Post a video - the keeper moves into Terry, who never even saw him. Just because Ricardo was flapping his arms around doesn't mean he was fouled - he was fouling Terry.

Incidentally, just because I live in England doesn't make me biased, and there's no need to get worked up about it.

please stop arguiing about the refferees role in last night's match, the next quart-final match will start in 20 minutes from now.

GO GREECE!!!!

I really hope Greece will kick some French ass, but my comen sense says that it is unlikely.....:grumpy:

England lost. Portugal won. And to quote the great man, "End of."

No amount of discussion can change the results and no-one is going to change their view on the "incident", so lets move on.

Yes. England lost because of the referee, not because they didn't play anything.
Yes. You are not biased, I am.
Yes. That picture is silly, not you.

Sorry, this is just pointless.
