Anybody find it really easy on the PC version? I am in an HRT with Bruno Senna as my teammate and I qualified 3rd at Bahrain with a messy lap. Senna was 7 seconds slower!

The only thing I found challenging was the pit-in as I came in too hot and I went over the speed limit and received a 5-place grid penalty because I am not sure how to do this procedure yet.

I could have gotten pole if my hand wasn't cramped up. If I used my G25 I am pretty sure I would be a lot quicker. I think the difficulty I was playing at was hard mode.

This is weird, I've heard lots of people say AI is very difficult in highest setting and a handful saying it' super easy. Can I just ask you if you physically set the AI to Legendary? If you set difficulty to expert then the default AI setting is Proffessional and people have commented that Legendary AI is significantly harder than Proffessional AI. I'm wondering if people are setting difficulty to Expert and assuming that AI is automatically at it's hardest setting.
 
My impressions of it is, that it's a pretty shallow game. The career mode isn't as epic as I thought it was supposed to be...

And the physics don't feel all that fun

Compared to F1:CE, physics wise, how would you describe it?

I'm still on the decision.making process about this one: visually I'm very in to get it, but I'm a little cautious about the handling of it. Is it too arcadey? Is it sim-like acceptable?
 
After reading reviews and impressions about this being somewhat arcade feeling I jumped in with all aids off and I was shocked, very challenging. It has a good feel to it. I find it to be more sim-like than arcade.

Apparently it doesn't seem the brakes lock even with it off...

Frankly the reports coming from different people vary so much that it's impossible to tell who is incompetent at driving, who is an elitist and who is just trollin'
 
I've played a few races so far, next one up is Monte Carlo. So far I've found that aids and AI difficult does, to a certain extent, correlate, but thats not all of it. The setting when you go into a GP from your trailer (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert) is key to how fast the AI is - while you can say that driving aids are the key to how fast you are.

Even on "Hard" though it's too easy, generally (With all aids off no less) I finish in the Top 10 with a Lotus.

Circuit de Catalunya(Barcelona) is an annoying track, not only the PIT bug already mentioned, but in my game, I was aware of this, so I decided to pit when no-one else did. Soo I ignored my engineer, the guys in front of me pitted, and I had Kobayashi behind me. A few laps laters I pit, and emerge like 9th or something. Kobayashi never pitted the whole race, and ended up in 2nd o0.

Did it rain during the race at all? if it does you "shouldn't" have to use both compounds. That's the real rule anyway.

If that's a bug though it's another one to add to a rapidly increasing list that I'm pretty unconvinced will actually be patched; as CM are concentrating on 2011 rather than supporting this game.
 
FYI, for those who want to rent it in the US, you'll have to find someone besides Blockbuster. Their website says the game will not be available til' Jan. 5th, 2011. :dunce:
 
I'll have my PC copy shortly, wont' be able to pick up the PS3 copy until next week or something.

Game is looking gorgeous. :drool:

Yeah I noticed the same thing on their website yesterday but I decided to stop bye the local BB anyway (since you're in dallas as well it was the Uptown/Lemmon location).

Anyway the dude checked the system and reported back that it had a 9/24 store availability date. So hopefully that is accurate nationwide.

Are you on Hard or Expert? If not, try Expert with Legendary AI, that will bring you back to earth with a Thud.

What was your best quali lap? I managed a 2.00.924 in P3 but couldn't better it in Qualifying, best of 2.01.235.

Yes I believe I was at hard, I will switch to the hardest level and see if that makes much of a difference. My best lap I think was low 1:58's using an XBOX360 controller on the PC with a badly cramped hand, manual gears, no aids.

Make sure you set Legendary AI...... get back to us and report if you can tell a discernible difference.
