There I was busting my ass off in quali in a Virgin to try and get a descent grid slot, then racing as best I could hopefully making up another few places only to pit and come out at the back of the field miles behind every single time, it was just a real game breaker for me, I am so dissappointed
They are talking about patcing the game, but who knows when or whether they will be able to fix it properly, if they can make it the great game that it has the potential to be then I may well purchase it again in the future.
If only someone from codemasters had actually sat down and played the final product, started a career and done a few races they would have noticed all these faults in a short space of time, thats the part I don't think I will ever understand...
GT5 isn't going to last long for you then either...come on, I know that bugs are annoying and all, especially ones like that, but surely its no different from screwing up by your own mistake? I mean, you can avoid that particular bug if you just alter your pit strategy....
A patch will come, why do people assume Codemasters intended to release it like this? Isn't kind of obvious some amount of rushing was involved to avoid GT5 and to make the most of the 2010 season?
I hate Australia!!!!!!!(The track, not the country/continent)
I'm currently in the middle of P2 and cannot find a good line anywhere, on top of that it seems the braking points are different every lap, I can nail a corner one lap but the next lap I brake at the same point and shoot right into the gravel.
At this rate there is no way I'm going to reach my targeted 12th spot since I can't even get into the top 20.
My braking points:
Turn 1/2 - flag-lights-system-thingy (I think its around 100m board), approximately, early turn in (observe a real life onboard for the specific point). Try to take it in 5th gear and floor the throttle before hitting the first apex.
Turn 3 - Approximately 50m before the big red Shell "V-Power" advertising board above the circuit. 2nd gear corner.
Turn 4 - Take it in about 3rd gear, constant half throttle so you don't spin but don't understeer.
Turn 5 - Easy flat in 5th gear I think it is. Turn in point just after the white Bridgestone wall ends on the left.
Turn 6 - My reference point for this one is the white tents to the right outside the track. Turn in point is around the Bridgestone advertising board above the circuit and I take it around 3rd or 4th gear. Pretty flat out on the exit.
Turn 9 - Braking point just before the flag-lights-system-thingy (its just in front of another Bridgestone board). 2nd gear, flat after the apex.
Turn 11/12 - Qantas board as reference point for braking. Try to take it in 6th and get all the way to the left side for a flat exit on turn 12.
Turn 13 - 50m board, 2nd/3rd gear corner. Fairly easy, don't overdo the exit speed.
Turn 14 - Another easy corner, sometimes maybe shift down but you can take this one half throttle ok.
Turn 15 - Braking point is another of those flag-light thingys on the right hand side, try to slow down as much as possible, the slower the better with this coner so you can maximise your exit for the last corner.
Turn 16 - easy flat, minimal steering is crucial.
Hope that helps, otherwise study the real onboards and practice! The best place to make up time on the AI is at turns 11/12 (they take them far too slowly) and the final turn. Most of the corners can be potential overtaking places with the right speed (apart from turns 6 and 9 which are too narrow).
