I am rank 34 and in the top 50 on the leaderboards for the PC version. ****ing loving this game online.

Can't even bring myself to play career mode, especially after reading about all the bugs.

Are the tyre physics completely different online than single player for you guys? It's VERY frustrating. I think if you have tyre sim on, online it's completely wacked.

I have the copy at home.
The first race in the Lotus on Bahrein was fun. New track for me so it took me some time to learn. Finished 12th, which isn't that bad. Outqualified and outraced Trulli. But that is an easy one :sly:

Australia is more difficult. My pedals are broke so I am playing with the controller. The correct steering points with the controller are quite difficult to find, where Melbourne is all about steering in for a good exit speed.

So I had some crashes, punctures and problems. But nothing a restart can' t fix :sly:
Tonight I will try to finish Melbourne and then progress towards Europe.
Does anybody already know how you can upgrade towards a new team, also mid season or at the end of a season?

Put in some quick time trials for Brazil and Abu Dhabi yesterday (Top 10 for Brazil, Top 4 for Abu Dhabi although Top 2 times look glitched) if anyone fancies giving them a go at beating. :sly:

I haven't driven either of those tracks yet, so I'll get back to you later in the season ;)

Talking of my season, I just got done racing Shanghai . Drove a perfect race too I might add. Finshed 7th, which is reasonable for a Force India, however there is just no way, and I mean literally with 100% certainty that I could of finished any higher. Here are the results:

1: Webber
2: Alonso
3: Hamilton
4: Vettel
5: Button

Nothing unusual by this point right!?

6: ...

CHANDHOK!!!!

Why isn't there a god dammed patch out yet!! If I went the whole race without pitting A, my tyres would be FUBAR and B, I'd be disqualified! Stupid game.

I do love it when people make bugs sounds like deliberate bad coding.

Who?
Where?

When low, new teams finish in a high position, or people, on the hardest difficulty, win races with new teams, everyone assumes the games is messed up and completely unrealistic, and then they kill themselves over it. Sure, Chandkok finishing that high must probably be because he didn't pit, but it's not impossible, especially if there was ever a crash in turn 1.

Finding Monaco qualifying difficult. Having done well in my Williams I now have to qualify at least 6th or above and find it impossible to set a time in that zone. I set a good flying lap then half way through another lap i'm down to about 11th and can't improve.

Don't like pitting because I always end up 21st and really have to work at getting in the points.

That said I do enjoy it. I finished 2nd in China and nearly had Alonso in 1st but ran out of laps to catch him up. At Melbourne I was 2nd but spun out 3corners from the end on the final lap and finished 4th.

Dude, I raced the race. No massive crashes, no one overtook me, I pitted from second and came out 14th. Passed maybe 2 cars, overtook the rest in the pits. Finished 7th. Explain how chandhok got passed me!? He didnt. And like i said i had a perfect race! ....

..... The BUG! enabled him to not pit and leapfrog the whole field. I certainly didnt imply codemasters wrote code that meant random drivers every race get to skip the mandatory pit stop. Quite how you interpreted my post that way confuses me.

In any case, I'm not 'killing' myself over it. 7th in a Force India is fine. Knowing I had no chance of coming any higher because of a bug is frustrating. If I ran a developing company releasing a driving game, I would probably rush to get it out as far ahead of GT5 as I could too. I wouldnt release it broken though, and then take SOOOOOOOOOO long to fix it!

How hard can it be? Its not an isolated incident, its happening with everyone, often! Heck, every race almost. Same with punctures. Does codemasters have the only copy that's bullet proof? ........ Stupid game!

Just finished Hockenheim in 3rd behind both Ferraris. Session started wet but ended up dry.

I'm quite annoyed at how the AI pit when the track is damp/wet and they get on the options. I do the same thing and I'm putting in laptimes as if it were dry conditions :dunce:

Anyway, Force India started to show interest, but a level of 20 is required. I'm at 15 right now. Ideally I would want to drive for Mercedes alongside Rosberg but I think the most probable choice at this point will be Force India if I can reach the level. Otherwise it's Sauber which wouldn't be too bad either, or perhaps Torro Rosse.

Yes, I agree completley but look how much of the game is screwed up. During a race there are lots of HUGE problems and I think codemasters is going to take their time. Really all they are doing is putting poeple off for F1 2011. It is basically going to be what this game should have, but I just wish another company had the license period. CM has a unique way with menues and difficulty, and I think Championship Edition was better for getting enjoyment out of practice and it had an intro video for god sake, short, but it was there.

Did 3 races tonight.

Screw Catalunya. Might skip it next season unless whatever issue behind it is fixed. The AI didn't help, either.
1. Sutil is an a-hole. All he's done is block me in the turns & once we get on the straights, he pulls away. :grumpy:
2. Following Hamilton after being lapped, I tried to go to left, then right to the 1st corner. SOB ducts in front of me, brakes & causes my tire to hit his rear forcing me to do a drive through penalty. :ouch:
3. One of the Toro Rossos, doesn't budge coming into Turn 7 forcing me off the track.

On to Monaco next, though, but I got the hang out of it & pulled a 2nd place win out of it. Webber was too quick, but I managed to beat Hamilton through the Turns 3-4 & 13-15. I'll admit I turned damage off for this course.

Istanbul, pulled out a win just barely. This track being suited to very fast cars, Vettel & Webber were constantly on my ass through Turns 3-5 & the last section. Thankfully, I got past one of the Virgins coming off the last straight who held up the Red Bulls. Apparently, they're a strong team at that track b/c the "Interview" asked about them afterwards.

Next course is Montreal & after hours of practice on a GTR2 version & a few races in GP Mode, I'm pretty confident I can take it. :sly:

Know who else is an ass?

Buemi. :yuck:

I can't tell you how many times that retarded, jerk-faced SOB blocked me, spun me out because he apparently can't take high speed corners without brake checking or just taking the corner too damn slowly. I even think he rear ended me a few times...causing me to trot into the gravel. Of course I can't take him out because that's not very 'sportsmanlike'. :grumpy:

Are you referring to an intro to the game itself, or the races? Either way, it has both. The rest I won't bother paying attention to as it doesn't apply to me.

McLaren - Montreal is ez-mode. I hadn't driven the track much in any game before I had a race there and with a setup that was pretty much default I was still capable of running easy 1m17s.

I'm sure it will be.

I did a race with Massa at Montreal & dominated it after 6-7 laps.

He's normally ahead of Sutil, & once I get ahead of him, he usually moves over & just blocks Sutil. :D

Just bought this game today. :)

I only had time to set up my driver, controls and do a quick time trial in Bahrain. First impressions? Graphics are pretty good. I can't judge the physics thoroughly, because I don't have my wheel set up (I just moved into my new house last Friday, and my desk is still at my mom's house), but from what I can tell, it's a little bit of an improvement from CE. I'll have to see for sure when I get my desk over to my house next week. I haven't explored enough to experience any bugs, but I'll do the little tricks to avoid some of them over the weekend when I bring my ps3 to work. So... So far, so good. 👍

EDIT - I forgot to add that, in my opinion, the sense of speed seems pretty... Non-existent. I shouldn't say that, I should say I'm far more impressed with CE than 2010 when it comes to the sense of speed.

Not sure if this was covered. But after confirming, DFP wheel is only 180˚ while all other wheels are 220˚. If you are on a DFP and were wondering about your driving a little, this is why lol Patch is supposed to fix this too -_-

Got the game yesterday and i noticed right away the pit stops are bugged. I was cruising with ease in the top 3 and after the stop im back at 20th :(

Yeah it has both but none of the games CM makes have intros. Not a big deal but really can get you excited the first few times you play the game if it's done well. The one thing I do love is before the menu when you press start and you hear the engine fore up...such an amazing sound!

Yup, but they are only triggered when you don't press Start (a screen I've never seen the point in, I've loaded up the game, why would I not want to start it? Probably due to loading reasons, so people don't think it's crashed) for x seconds rather than being an automatic event.

Has anyone else noticed how slow the AI are in wet conditions? I did 10 three lap races yesterday, and won 7 of them, and by margins of at least 5 seconds.

hi all :D i've taken the advice i read here about altering my pit strategy from the one
the engineer chooses, to avoid being held in the pit forever

enjoying the game much more now, so thanks to those who posted that advice 👍

Next up, all other bugs lol

Despite the bugs of F1 2010; Codemasters were advertising the game on Speed Channels coverage of Practice Session 2 at Suzuka for this weekends (real) Japanes Grand Prix.

Did anyone else see the ad?

Yes, I was 3 seconds faster than anyone in a Virgin at Hockenheim. I'm playing on Legendary.

Thats really weird...about the wet races...because I was at China and was doing great until it began to rain. I was puching as hard as I could wand was right on the point of loosing it many times so I knew I couldnt push any harder, and was lapped many times by even the HTRs. It didnt matter b.s. race anywway, got stuck in the pits but enough people retired before I got stuck, I just waited there and after about 30 mins. Webber finished and I waited until the clock ran out (100% race distance). At least I accomplished a goal haha.
