Just remember what laps you are scheduled to pit.

In online races? And other drivers?
Before online race starts you can select a racer on current grid (as you wait for host to 'press' ready) and can select mute 👍
I bought a Blue Tooth and you can leave on, but on floor so you can't hear if racers' chat distracting, or use the mute on the before race grid list:tup:

Just recently got the game. Loving it, but there is one major headache.
I can't find a control setup that I feel comfortable with (I'm using the control pad).
Every since GT1 on the PS1, I have used the left analogue stick to steer and the right stick to accelerate/brake; my gears are L1,R1 (or L2,R2).
It's a setup I am used to and have always changed every racing game configuration to this. It's annoying that most recent racing games' default setup is L2/R2 for the brake/gas and X and SQUARE for the gears.
But with F1 2010, no matter how much I try to edit my configuration, I always get the message "IMPORTANT CONTROLS HAVE BEEN DISABLED. PLEASE RE-EDIT YOUR CONFIGURATION" or something.
It's a right royal pain.
You have to make sure every control is given a button.
For my wheel (G25) setup it meant that even the unusable clutch (R3 I think) is designated for a control.
If any control is not assigned to a button; you can not complete the 'edit'; so make sure every control has been designated a button 👍
Yeah I know that, but my problem is assigning the controls so that it falls under the parameters of the control setup I have been used to for years. I could get used to the trigger (L2/R2) buttons as the brake/gas (since vehicle control in GT4 uses that), it's just that changing gear using the face buttons on the DS3 is too awkward.
I suppose I will just have to get by with automatic gears. But that is a serious comedown for me - I want to get the full experience.

Another good reason to invest in a wheel; and then a seat
Wait, the team dumps you? Maybe I'm not that far into the season, but that's the first I heard of this.I'm so ANGRY right now!
First season with Lotus and I win six races and finish second in the driver's championship, which is much much more then Trulli ever did (whats that you say engineer's voice?-your faster then Trulli-yeah IM ALWAYS FASTER THEN TRULLI EVERYONES FASTER THEN TRULLI). Three races to go and the team dumps me for the next season even though I've been positive towards them with the media. So naturally after they tell me I start bagging them out in the media for those last three races and at the end of the season I only get offers from Virgin and HRT which are both garbage and teams I do not want to race with (I'd like to be Glockdog's team mate but not in that team).
With two races to go BMW Sauber showed some interest but no contract. Im pretty annoyed right now, thinking of deleting my save and starting again.
Lotus did offer me a contract for next year but I declined it twice-Im regretting that now..........urgh
What did I do wrong? (Apart from declining Lotus offers)

How many races do you have left?
If you can backup your save then do it, talk mad crap about your team and see what happens. If you get screwed then just restore your save, if it goes well then keep your save.
I think if you talk only good things about your team then other teams don't show interest in you. I don't really understand it but wtv. I always say good things about my team but that might changed based on the things I've heard.
I take back any negative things I may have said about this game. I have recently acquired it and I love it. Codemasters EGO engine has improved in a big way since Dirt 2, but the real thrill about F1 2010 is the way they have captured the 'feeling' of being in an F1 race better than any other developer - yes, even Studio Livepool(all respect to them) who did F1:CE, which is one of my all time favourite PS3 games.
Codies, you done good!!
I think it is harsh and so unfair for some people to regard F12010 as a 'stop-gap' that will do them until GT5 hits the shelves. F1 2010 is so much more than that. It has obviously been a labour of love for Codemasters, who set out to make the best F1 game ever, and they have succeeded in that goal. I can see me playing F12010 long into next year, alongside GT5.
Too late, I stormed through to the end of the season to see if anyone was interested but alas no. I've signed with HRT, I'd like to be Glockdog's team mate but not a fan of Virgin Racing. I'm going with the mixed approach to the media this time and see what happens.
I need to bump difficulty up to legend, I won my first race with HRT by ten seconds from Hamilton-that shouuldnt happen (well not in a HRT car anyway)
