Anyone else more excited to see fanetic F1 wheel? lol I know this game is going to be amazing but lets get some info in wheel!!!!

^Kinda sad they used footage of someone using a pad

I'm just excited for this game to come out. Probably be the only game to pull me away from iRacing at the moment.

We are going to get an answer on the safety car this next week my money is on yes.

They said we will get an answer before the end of gamescom, which is the 21st. The announcement may come sooner, but it may take until the 21st. My money's on yes too though.

codemasters keep speaking about the safety car, i think is just marketing, they're just hyping it, they're trying to make a huge suprise.. otherwise they are idiots, keep reminding us about the situation and then is not in the game will make many people moaning.

However is a feature which i'm looking for for long races, it gives a strategy feeling to the races. it's not vital for the game but it will give a huge sense of general realism of f1 experience. IMO damage+ fuel and tyre simulation+ dynamic weather+ safety car+ pit stops + at least 40% long races= amazing races

even If it's not in i'll buy the game cause f1 is f1, i'm not able of avoding it.

Or maybe they dont want to ruin the hype and then annonce that the safety car will be only possible in their last f1 game F1 2012... or even better sell it as a DLC one month after (unlocking disc content) like they did with Dirt 3...

While that was a game published by codemasters, the actual developer studio is a different one and they said they won't be doing that.

I hope they dont do that this year but I will almost bet that in the 2012 edition they will add an historic F1 DLC to the game...

Actually, DIRT 3 was developed by one of Codemasters' studios. F1 2011 is being developed by a second studio set up by Codemasters.

Nobody posted the Q&A blog on EU PS blog today? Okay. I will. :)

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/08/11/f1-2011-your-questions-asked-more-than-50-of-them/

Won't quote the whole thing, but here's what I found to be the better parts:

Q:Tom_Sheldon: Is the co-op championship available online or just split-screen only?
A:Co-op is only available Online. Elements of it are too complex system for Split-Screen

Q:Scorpion760: Will engineers and pit crew change depending on which team you are driving for this time?
A:Yes, the team personnel now change when you switch teams.

Q:F1archives: Will there be retro F1 DLC?
A:This is something we desperately want to include but I’m sure you can imagine it’s a bit of a licensing nightmare. We’re working on it.

Q:MattMarquard: Has the crash damage improved? And if it’s not in this game, proper deforming tyre barriers would be cool. Almost like in Grid.
A:We’re balancing the damage so the cars are more fragile but as for an overhaul of the damage system, we’d like to, but feel there are bigger things to tackle first.

Q:Scorpion760: Will there be a system similar to ‘Autolog’ that will let you challenge friends to lap times etc, to enhance Multiplayer?
A:There is something similar, built around challenging friends.

Q:JB59HD: Will the cars have different engine sounds for each team? And will the pop and crackle of the off throttle exhausts be simulated?
A:Each engine manufacturer has its own engine sound. Off-throttle audio is not included.

Q:MrTaffyMann: Will we be able upload clips to Youtube like in Dirt 3? Also, can they be longer than 30 seconds and be a montage of select clips?
A:No, this system does not feature in 2011 but I’d like to include it in the future.

Q:TorethSOE: Are there be plans for a full career mode including driver transfers and new drivers? Possibly a team management mode for 2012?
A:Driver transfers are not allowed by the license but I am interested in team management… in fact we’ve loads of ideas for that…

Wow, now that does sound pretty interesting, havn't played an offical F1 Manager game since the one that came bundled with F1 2001 on PC by EA.

Im yet to play a manager game but when I get my PC set up I might run the one I got with F1 2001. It was funny that I did 100% races with steering and breaking assistance so I just held down the up arrow lol. Didnt have a clue about setups either so I had a horrible handling car.

Edit: Dev diary 2 is going to be released about 2pm on monday.

Wow that looks amazing. Every fault the past one had they have redone and fixed.

Especially the very last part where you can see the car oversteer and slide a little bit, but then countersteering and catching it. That was my biggest gripe in the past one

I'm sold 👍

I agree the handling looks much improved, I just hope it's not too easy. I found the kerb riding ok in F1 2010, though there were some situations where you should have been able to ride them more like in Singapore for example, but then there were certain tracks where it was just perfect like Interlagos. Watching that vid, the cars are absolutely zooming round the low speed sections - I just hope they haven't overdone it.

The kerb riding was perfect in F1 2010 too bad it was perfectly simulating wet weather on a dry looking track.... actualy I always felt like the track was always wet and far from ok... but thats just my opinion

I think that diary just proves that 2010 was just a beta version. I think I will skip 2011 and just wait for 2012.

Every time I see a new video of 2011 it gets me more hyped for the game. Currently in season 4 in 2010 and will keep that game for sure so I can get through 7 seasons.

dev diary now instead of monday :) watch before it will be deleted

huge improvements in the handling :)
Here's to the improved AI.

Seemed like for many on this forum, that the only way to really make the AI challenging, even at lower tier cars, was to crank the difficulty all the way up & then turn off nearly every single driving aid. To me, that wasn't really making the AI more challenging, & seems for some, even they weren't getting that much of a challenge.

I also hope they got some of the teammates fixed. I don't know about others, but whenever I raced, Vettel, Alonso, & Hamilton were easily amongst the very top. When I was offered to race for RBR in the game, Vettel was suddenly towards the Top 10 rather than the Top 5. Now that I've moved on to McLaren, Lewis will occasionally find his way to the Top 5 positions & both RBR cars are now my biggest competitors. And sometimes, I even see Luizi (sp?) managing his way into 3rd or 2nd.

Yeah the team mate AI is weird in 2010, seen that very thing when I drove for Ferrari. I am with McLaren and the difficulty is maxed except for manual driving ( I can't get used to that ) and Hamilton is a top ten driver, not a top 5 or 3 like he was in the previous seasons in my game.
