I'm guessing improvements will be made for the full game. And T-12 if you can try the EU PS Store because the demo is 100mb+ more than the others that I have heard of.... maybe they fixed the problem in them 100mb or so.
 
as for understeer

@T4RG4 man the understeer is crazy in f1 2012. Please tell me it won't be like this in full game!? #f12012

@chrisf1v8 It's because you are off the racing line - we do plan to change it though :) We found a nice change late in the day.
 
Off the line my foot. You can't get on the line because the car is plowing through corners like a boat.

Glad to hear it's being fixed though.
 
download speed is like old modem speed today. I think I can try the ps3 demo tomorrow night after work :(
 
Wow when I read comment here, I feel like I didnt played the same demo. I didnt notice any understeer, actually I think the car is sticking too well, you can open DRS after first chicane all the way to the 2nd one without any problem. The only trouble I had was adaptating to the braking points.
 
First impressions... The steering is very sensitive on a pad and it feels like traction control is in when it's not. I'll take 2011's physics back please. It almost seems like they were trying to replicate F1:CE's physics. Bad move IMO.

I cannot seem to take Parabolica at the appropriate speed or selected gear. Damn car just coasts into the kitty litter.

Yas Marina I'm not too fussed over as I don't even know the circuit that well.

Are you playing with a steering wheel ? I can open DRS just like they did in F1 this year in the parabolica. I'm playing with PC demo on xbox pad.

I'll take that bet, I can hammer through Parabolica and get the DRS open before it straightens. I have actually lost the car through oversteer in the Lemos and the exit of Ascari.

How aggresive are you at turning into the corner? I have a very smooth line in and have really good grip no understeer or oversteer and can put the power down nice and early. Thats all I can think of for now, otherwise it's just a case of when the game comes out loosen the rear end and get a little more oversteer.

I am a fairly aggressive driver when it comes to hitting the corners but that wasn't what the problem was.

The problem was the sensitivity settings for steering. Now, for whatever reason my normal settings are too high to get a proper feel for the car so I lowered them and boom - comfortable.

Same settings I used to set a couple of top times (before the cheaters came about and set ridiculous times) are no longer useful. Oh well, time to find new ones. :P

Don't be. I didn't think of it until I ruffled through the last page and tried out Sandman's settings and I instantly felt more confident that when I turned the wheel the car would steer where I told it to go.

I'm not noticing the understeer to much, all I am noticing is the sensitivity of steering with the G27.

Set your linearity to 13-14 percent in the advanced wheel options. Makes a huge difference in wiggle down the straights. I had to do the same thing with 2011.
 
I'm on the US version at the moment but the understeer isn't that bad if you are smooth with the steering. It seems as if when you turn too hard into the corner the slip angle of the tyre is exceeded giving you understeer. But now I have set my steering deadzone to 1% and steering linearity to 5% (G27) it improves the oversensitive steering and I went fastest on the YDT by over 0.4 seconds :)

EDIT: forgot to mention i'm on the PS3

Not true, I too encountered massive understeer.

Overall I'm very disappointed with the game, I was hoping for more. The cars just seem way too twitchy and I know that they're supposed be but it just seems far too excessive. I'm debating whether or not to save my money.

I have bought F1 2009 for the Wii (no comment^^) and F1 2010 for PC (special offer on Steam ~10€). Never touched 2011 and just downloding 2012 demo for PS3.

With the experience from the 2010 version, I expect nothing from the new demo. I do not plan to spend money on any Codemaster F1 game in the near future. However I am interested in the demo to make myself an opinion.
 
Just played the ps3 version with a gamepad. It rocks. Steering needs to get used to. Graphics are pretty nice. Framerate stabel and high enough. Just lovely game experience.
 
Anyone download the demo for the 360 and PS3?

I think the 360 version looks more crisp, but the cars feel better on the PS3. Anyone else agree or am I just weird?

I've downloaded both and they both look pretty much identical to me. Obviously I didn't have them running side by side at the same time, but I do have multiple HDMI ports on my TV so I switched between the two and nothing shouted at me as looking much better in either version.

If you have a PC that is capable of running this game at or near max settings I'd go with the PC version. Not only will the game look better, I'm sure there will be some community mods to make the game play better as well.

That being said, I'm buying this game for the PS3 because I don't have a PC (a good one at least) and I'm not interested in the modding either.

I'm mostly concerned about the cheating that goes on PC.

I'm having the same problem as T12.... Even at Yas Marina in the hairpins im getting understeer trying to take them at anywhere near what you would in real life. Massive understeer everywhere.... and the steering is super ( I mean super ) sensitive. Are you using a G27?
 
T12 yeah would appreciate the Snap,and tomorrow i will experiment with all the setups posted thus far.
