Hi guys, I have recently been using the DD pro, found it fun to use
wish there was a lot more adjustment with controls especially for GT but oh well

I have an issue now where, I am driving and all that comes up is the number 6 on the display on the wheel then after a minute or so the screen goes blank? Any ideas?
That's an indicator that you've selected 6th gear, but normally only flashes on the gear change, then back to a speed readout. Not sure why its staying on.

Is there are particular scenario when this happens? Are you able to press buttons on wheel after the screen goes blank?

Normally the display shouldn't be blank when driving in GT7. Does it come back after a while or do you have to reset the game or the wheel base?

Will be good to see the difference between standard/express as I am looking at purchasing a new item each month ( McLaren wheel, handbrake, V3 pedals, H-Shifter, clubsport wheel)..

I made my own rig about 10years ago out of the wooden bones of a 3-piece-suite and a X-rocker gaming chair, it was fine for the various Logitechs I've owned but it's showing its age and needed some reinforcing for the DD pro, so currently working on designing a profile rig as there is a company nearby that sells the extrusion stock and I'm hoping it'll be cheaper than buying a kit from the likes of GT Omega, SimLabs etc..

Turned up at 1pm bst today.

Ordered Wednesday, fanatec processed next day or Friday.

Ups collected Friday. Received email last night at 10pm. Paid customs. Arrived Southampton 7am. Out for delivery 8am. Arrived in Bournemouth 1pm. All 4 boxes.

Decent turnaround, no issues at all.

Express delivery.

Exactly this. Still no news from Fanatec past the processing email or UPS on tax payment, was scheduled for today now rescheduled tomorrow. Luckily I'm pretty flexible WFH but it does make you wonder how these companies are as big as they are, especially when others get it so right by comparison. I've finally got my copy and a PS5 now, so I'm just waiting on the piece of the puzzle.

I was working from office yesterday (which was delivery day), so changed pickup point to a local 'McColl' newsagent, which went smoothly.

Is anyone using the DD Pro with the Xbox/PC Hub wheel?

I don't have any wheel settings available (using the blue connection mode on PS4 Pro and all firmware updated), there is only one automatic profile and one custom with only sen, ndp (which can't be turned off, 25 is minimum) and brf available. 😟

Still wanting to know if and how we can map all the buttons on other wheels connected to the GT DD Pro in GT7.

Main concerns are the McLaren GT3 V2, ClubSport RS & BMW GT2 and Porsche 911 GT3 & 918 RSR.

I made a post here with McLaren GT3 v2 mappings as I found them on base PS4 with my GT DD Pro base in GT7.

  • Mappable: L3 (LSB), R3 (RSB), Y (triangle), X (square), B (circle), A (cross), L/R/U/D on funky switch (in is same as A, or cross button). So 10 in total.
  • Non-mappable: Two rotary dials, two toggle switches, analogue paddles (in mappable axis mode).
  • The manual shows how the wheel is mapped for PlayStation.

Probably been discussed before but, tried the GT DD Pro with GT7 for the first time, and found the "feedback" to be lacking a bit compared to when playing PC titles. Mainly curbs - I cant feel the curbs. Is this normal?

Press the tuning menu button and hold it until switch to the advanced tuning menu.

Yes, this is normal.

@super_gt but also to others here using the CSL Load Cell Kit.
I‘m not sure if my Brake Pedal might be faulty.
Yesterday I found it extremely hard and inconsistent to be precise on the Brakes.
I didn’t understand why.
Usually I’m very smooth with my inputs but like I said, yesterday I struggled a lot.
I drive without HUD so yesterday I turned it on to check what the Brake Indicator looks like when braking.
And to my surprise it was all over the place.
While applying constant pressure it was still buzzing up and down and I never was able to hold it in one Position or at least close to one position.
Then today, I attached my Wheelbase to my Laptop to see what the Calibration Menu is showing but look for yourself.
Is that behavior normal ?!
In the Video you can clearly see what I mean. I‘m applying brake force gradually and sometimes I try to hold it in one Position but it never stays in place.
It’s constantly bouncing, pulsating…

Edit: I can’t upload the video, don’t know how to

@PirovacBoy you can upload the video in YouTube and then post a link here.
From your description, the operation of the pedal does not sound normal, so I suggest you contact Fanatec support.

My DD Pro stand-alone (ordered on the 7th) has moved into the Processing stage, so should hopefully be with me in a week 🙂
Arrived today.

Got the customs mail from UPS yesterday, paid my Brexit charge and the gear arrived today :)

Was initially concerned there was no Boost Kit before relaising the power brick the standalone ships with is the 180.

Won't get the wheel mounted to my rig for a few weeks as I'm undergoing some upgrades, but nice to have it in-hand at least.

Thank you. I just uploaded it.
Take a look Guys, is this pulsating normal ?!

No matter how hard I try to modulate the Brake Pedal, it’s always rapidly bouncing a bit up and down.
No way I can make it stay in one position or at least close to a constant Position

Paid my Brexit taxes yesterday and UPS are telling me I should get a delivery in the next two hours. I've ordered the DD Pro standalone wheelbase with the CSL WRC rim and CSL LC pedals.

I have to make some small modifications to my sim rig so it will likely be after the weekend before I get time to set everything up.

This is what my pedal looks like:

Contact Fanatec support.

Ok I can clearly see the difference is like Night and Day.
It wasn’t like that when I first received my Premium Bundle 10 Days ago.
I updated the Firmware, and calibrated everything when I received it.
The Load Cell was same as yours.
Now it’s super sensitive.
Thanks for your help Buddy, I’ll contact Fanatec Support.

No you can't, you can't map the two lower trigger on the gt3 v2. They work if you assigned them via the quick function on the wheel as accel/brake, and partially work if you set them to clutch/handbrake, then the right paddle will be handbrake, cant map them tho. Same for the two switch with number on them, you can't map them and they do nothing and finally the two red switch that are going only up and down arent usable on gts/gt7 either. I use the gt3 wheel on gt7 and it's great, I love it.

Thanks, I didn't know this was a thing. 😄

Too bad about the curbs, I noticed it too and it bothers me quite a lot. It sounds like the car is falling apart, but no feedback.

@super_gt sorry to disturb you again.
1 more thing about the load cell.
Behind the Pedal where the Pressure Sensor? is (the White Strip Thing), I have very gently and slightly added some pressure to it and the bouncing is almost not noticeable anymore.
I just checked it in the Fanatec Control Panel.
Now it almost behaves like in your Video. I‘m now able to keep it at a certain pressure Number.
My question, would you still recommend to return it?!
I‘m within the 14 Day Return Period until tomorrow.
Just from your Feeling do you think it’s faulty or was it maybe an uncommon error.
I‘ll be playing some more today to test it further if it returns.
If so, I’ll return it, if not I’m tempted to keep it.
What would you do…🤔

I think it is faulty and even if after your intervention works properly, one day the problem may return.

It all arrived yesterday at last and I straightaway updated firmware and fitted to the rig, no small task with the amount of adjusting to get the position right compared to my TG-T. After much excitement I went to have a go with my V3's on GT7 but straightaway ran into an issue, the pedals won't talk to the wheelbase via RJ12  They work perfectly via USB as I've been on iRacing for the last couple of years but dead as a dodo over RJ12. I tried the pedals that were bundled to check it wasn't the base, it's not, phew but the V3's aren't having it. I've raised a ticket with support but it was a bit anti-climactic to say the least after finally receiving it and sourcing a PS5 last week. I've ordered another RJ12 cable specific for the V3's in case there's any difference and raised a ticket with Fanatec so I'm hoping they can pull through with something, otherwise who knows.

On the bright side, I did plug the pedals back in via USB direct and fired up iRacing after using inputting the recommended settings for the wheel and holy crap... what a wheel! I was initially a bit on the fence as I have absolutely loved my TG-T but within the space of the pit exit I was convinced. The FFB is night and day in comparison to the TG-T and just turning the thing is as smooth as butter, on iRacing at least and I really 'felt' the car around Sebring and it's crazy bumps. If anyone fancies a world tour spec TG-T one is coming up for sale very soon :D

I have a close friend that got his DD Pro set over a week. His throttle pedal does not work at all. No response from Fanatec CS. He's obviously PO'd. He did firmware update. States it has no signal. He's a smart guy and has checked everything multiple times.

Did anyone upgraded from G29 to Fanatec DD GT for GT7?

I have g29 and wondering if its a big upgrade for GT7 considering its not full blown sim game?

Yeah, thanks for posting. Hopefully this will get some noise. I just got it last week, and plugged everything in according to the instructions. Got the load cell brake as well. Power it up, update the drivers per what Fanatec recommends. I get a response from the clutch (former brake), i get a response out of the load cell brake, and i get nothing from the throttle.

I rewired everything, even thinking they may have potentially mislabled cables, i tried every possible configuration. Still, clutch responds, brake responds, nothing from the throttle. And i get nothing but crickets from Fanatec. Anyone have any possible solutions to either get things working or get Fanatec to actually do their jobs?

I got my Express bundle yesterday. McLaren GT3 wheel, boost kit and handbrake arriving this week. WRC wheel and load cell brake will be my March treat.

The base is amazing. The directness and fidelity of the FFB in GT Sport blows the Logitech G out of the water. I did a lot of GTS Race B Interlagos recently, and after just five laps with this DD I was able to improve my time by five-tenths. It's incredible how timely and informative the forces are. Gives me more confidence to push since there are feelings there that weren't present with the G923. Huge improvement in GT Sport. WRC 10 is a disaster. The game is still forcing me to use the Logitech preset. There is no way to change it. And I had to do a lot of tuning just to get the FFB serviceable. Not sure what's up with the game "forcing" me to continue using the Logitech setup. Kinda weird in a game that has the Fanatec logo plastered all over it!

I really dislike the GT wheel rim. It looks and feels solid, and I don't mind the toy look, but the button layout is horrible. I can't reach any mappable button with my thumbs. The d-pads make a loud and annoying click. My thumbs get stuck between the wheel rim and the colored Gran Turismo sticks. It's just terrible ergonomically speaking.

Mounting on the NLR GTLite was a nightmare. The pedals were easy, but the very limited position options on the wheel plate had me bolting and unbolting three times before I got something serviceable, albeit too close to me for my liking.

Later I will update the firmware and give it a spin on PC. Also looking forward to ACC PS5 on the 22nd.

I just finished 2nd in the Road to GT7 event with the WRX at Suzuka despite being 17th seed in an A/S room and with a total lack of confidence and practice and also having not played GTS for two years. I used the McLaren GT3 V2 rim that arrived today and bumped the in-game torque to 3 since the wheel is 30mm bigger than the GT rim.

The GT DD Pro has totally transformed GTS compared to my Logitech. It's such a different (and better) experience.

The understeer rattle is much more pronounced than with the GT rim. Like double I would say. It's annoying. Anyone have any ideas to tone down that ridiculous understeer shaking?

I can refer you to a couple posts I made about the upgrade, shown above here in this post. It's a world of difference for me in GTS, GT7 and WRC 10. The fidelity and lack of latency means much more information coming through, when it needs to come through. It won't make you much faster but it will allow you to consistently be closer to your personal limit. That confidence will improve your consistency and at the same time push a bit more without risking an off. With the G29 in GTS and other sims I felt like I was using a game controller with a wheel to guide a car. Now I feel like I guide a car with a real wheel without a "game controller" in the middle. It's more natural.

Yep, I did.

The brake pedal is much nicer since it's linear and has a longer stroke.

The wheel has a lot more strength, which you can't have too much of when driving sketchy road cars in GT7.
With race cars, when using lower torque - that's what I do at least - you still benefit from the smoothness, quickness and detail (depending of settings of course).

Also, I wouldn't say it's less beneficial in GT7 than it is in iRacing/ACC.

Just don't ever expect to be immediately faster only because you upgrade your gear, as long as your current gear doesn't malfunction. What you can expect is more luxury and possibly more fun - which can make you faster since you're more immersed and practice more.

I made a post here with McLaren GT3 v2 mappings as I found them on base PS4 with my GT DD Pro base in GT7.

Thank you so much man!
