Big lol that they have so poor QC that they cant mill a slot in a shaft or drill a hole the correct size within tolerance.... Also looks like a panicked solution governed by economical forces.... Comon guys, anyone with gimx or drivehub tried it with and without?

The QR2 should solve the clunk problem as well as reduce play to practically-zero with any luck.

Fingers crossed...

Yeah.

That's if it's priced the same as the QR1 here in Oz.

If you're configuring a new setup and not just replacing a QR1 it should be cool. Upgrading from QR1 to QR2 'though... maybe sticky tape makes sense especially if you've multiple wheels.

The Moza direct drive wheel base and their quick release look really good and well made, just how you'd expect.

Software seems excellent but it's just for PC.

It's a shame Thrustmaster and Fanatec are so poor in design/production quality and customer support, they're underserving of having official Sony wheels.

I'd love to buy the DD Pro but there's too much bad with the good. If only Logitech could make the step up or some other company like Moza that can design/produce the equipment. The console wheel space has a been such a mess of poor quality and silly licenses and incompatibility with the next system for what is a niche field. It really should be more universal and inviting to companies and customers so we don't have to keep jumping through hoops and relying on rubbish. Been waiting for years to see a good time to get back into it.

Yeah, it's a shame. Logitech hasn't properly developed a new wheel for over 10 years (G29/G920/G923 are mostly just rebadged G27s inside), and Thrustmaster and Fanatec are the only real competition to each other but both are far from ideal.

By the way, I got a reply from Fanatec's customer service today and my Boost Kit will be replaced.

Honestly 8 days for something like this is just unacceptable.
I work for a major retailer in Europe, and if our customer service was that slow, heads would roll and people from other departments would be called in to help the customer service. Trust me, it happened in the past.
Only that for Fanatec it seems to be the standard case and not the exception.

QR2 has been in the works for a long time. While I understand what you mean, don’t count on it to solve issues. It seems to be creating its own issues, hence no release.

What else is bad with the DD Pro?

Not entirely sure, seems like they just want to push their more expensive wheel bases now.. Noticed that they're not restocking the cheapest of wheel bases (csl dd) either!
They have the 8Nm but not the 5Nm it seems. To be honest from what I've read the 8Nm just brings the whole thing to life anyway.

I think I’m going to grab GT DD bundle when back in stock. Hooked up my old T150 and really enjoying playing the game with a wheel. Have a DD wheel for PC and would like to use a nice wheel for console as well.

Yeah I seen this but think the bundle is much better value given you get a wheel and pedals for an extra £100. Don't mind having the 5Nm as it allows for an upgrade path when needed. Just hope these bundles do come back into stock.

When the DD pro is switched off and i turn the wheel the feel reminds me a little bit like the gear drive on the Thrustmaster T248 i had before. So,it doesn‘t feel totally smooth when turning.I can‘t remember though if it was always like this and i just didn‘t notice before. Is it normal?

Yes you can feel it softly "notch" (one assumes between the magnets) as it rotates when unpowered. Perfectly normal. It's not grindy or anything but you can feel the magnets.

Thanks,i feel better now

Anyone having issues with their wheel randomly going super light or super heavy? I'm running Fanatec recommended settings with the boost kit

No, is your issue only happens on GT7 ?.

At first I like did the GT DD Pro rim but now I hated it, because I hear to much crackling sound coming from the plastic on the rim. The Fanatec CSL Elite wheel is way better.

Yes. I think it’s a gt7 thing.

So far. But I’ve really only been playing that game anyways.

Hacienda in both the stock rim, and my Mclaren tim

Happens on my Wheelbase too, but only going a bit heavier than usually.
Never felt it going lighter.
When it happens, I figured out that simply pausing the Game and then continue solves it.
I‘m running 5/1 in Game but turned FFB Strength down to 90% in my Wheelbase.

I don't get none of that what you and even @Yard_Sale experiencing, perhaps you guy's have you wheel settings to high for GT7. For me in game 5/1 and FFB 35% and I get an even flow on the wheel, and I don't get no heavier no nothing on the wheel.

With FFB turned down as low as you do, I just don’t enjoy to drive.
The Wheel feels way to light and I don’t get an appropriate Weight Feel for the Car.
The Cars feel like turning a Shopping Trolley an empty one btw, for my 6year old Daughter, got ya, but I want to feel all the Dynamics which are simply impossible to replicate with such a limited Torque Curve.
I mean imo, what’s the point in having 8Nm of available Torque but only using maybe 2~3 at most.
Btw, this doesn’t happen when playing Project Cars 2 or 3 or Driveclub.
Not even when playing ACC.
So I think it’s a minor Software/Hardware Bug, but what do I know.
I‘m just glad it’s working and giving me a good time when hustling the Cars around the Track.
But maybe you‘re right and my Wheelbase is faulty.
I don’t know Mate 🤷🏻‍♂️

Perhaps it's a Software/Hardware Bug for GT7 now when you have the FFB setting up to high for that game. When GT7 came out I had the FFB about 75% when using the 8Nm, and I had no issues with the wheel back then but that was to extreme setting for me to have it set at. So I went to the setting I liked the FFB at . I found a sweet spot with the FFB at 35% at 35% I still FFB feel in the wheel, any higher for me it does not feel right.

It has to be a bug of sorts.

When I was doing the Tokyo grind, I had to turn the FFB waaaaaaaaaaay down to like 35 (IG, 5-1). It was too much torque to handle…. BUT, it didn’t clip the once!

In ACC, same thing. I had to tone down the FFB but not because it clips. GTS, not as good as ACC, but better than GT7.

In GT7, the road cars clip like crazy. The race cars, not as much but frequently. The tomahawk…. Never
