I think the FT-86 Max power should be done, becuase no one uses this car. It should be something different and not used. That way, it brings more light on cars in GT5.

I was hoping to see some difficult cars in the poll. yellowbird, zonda R, R10,

the only one i really want to see a tune for is the NSX. The current cars are all pretty good to start with anyway, imo.

Please keep in mind that we're using different car classes each month. As you can see, this month is JDM sports car month. The next TGB car-class will be decided by a vote in mid-February.

Same here. I voted for the WRX (max hp) this month....in the future I think it'd be cool to see cars included that are notoriously hard to tame. Another car that comes to mind, that doesn't have any existing tunes as far as I know, is the '74 Countach LP400. I think it would be interesting to see what could be done with that car, maxed out (~520 hp) on soft sports tires. It's incredibly light as well. The only drawback to this car is that for some reason PD decided to make it standard and not include it in the new car dealership. :grumpy: Two other cars that come to mind, that are both premiums and available in the new car dealership, are the '76 Ferrari 512BB and the '02 TVR Tamora. I can't recall tunes for these cars either.

I'm just an observer at this point though, so just take these as ideas. I realize as someone that isn't really contributing to this competition (currently), my opinion doesn't hold as much weight. Just throwing ideas out there. Big props to you guys for putting this together though. It should be very interesting. Looking forward to the results of the first challenge. 👍

I have a max power FT-86 G Sports tune, and from what I've experience it is basically the same as the regular FT-86, so give it a go- Lion's Den Performance.

I'm afraid of the EvoX winning as the way to make it fast also causes that damned "Evo shake" which will get it marked down...

You mean the weaving again?

Hmm this thread seems very incomplete and the original post is very vague, if you plan to hold a competitive and complete event you need to lay down a little more ground work before simply setting up a vote for which car we tune (which is a bit limited of a vote I might add, all Japanese?).

So, to help right this thread I'd recommend following a "Touge" type racing style were we do several sectors of a track or complete tracks driven by a handful of respectable and competent drivers. Each driver clocks a lap in each of the submitted cars, the fastest time is taken per track per car. The times for all sectors or tracks are added up and the tuned car with the lowest amount of total time is the winner. I'd recommend no adjustments can be made between tracks in order to keep it more competitive. Also, you need to update that OP with something, this whole event is very vague. Didn't you start a thread similar to this last month and it flopped?.. Also, you need a way other than tuners submitting their own times. Hence why divers that are not affiliated with any tuners should be picked to participate. Hope this helps, I'd love to enter an event like this, but as it currently stands I am unsure of a fair and fun competition.

All japanese is just a monthly theme. And I think we have quite a good system already and any changes could make it too complicated. Or if changes are made, this isn't the time for it. The vote and the comp has already started...

By the way, it looks very tight between NSX and Impreza. Damn I wish I had more votes.

E: to avoid tie result, some of the poll choices (those which have clearly lost already) could be removed?

You LIE!

Seriously, there's the '10 sedan and an '07 hatch in the dealer. No "BBS wheel option" to be found, either. o.O

Edit: Oh. Never mind, they're both "BBS wheel option" equipped, but the sedan is the '10. :P

You're right. '10 is sedan.

Meh this is not a good system, there are no official rules or anything set up in the original post, perhaps I should start my own so that we can actually have a decent garage battle.. The car we decide on is the least of our worries really.. Just as long as its a popular model..

The time has come.

February will be JDM sports car month. Cast your vote for the car you'd most like to see tuned to perfection in the upcoming Tuner Garage Battle!!!

Each car will have two iterations; Moderate and maximum HP. Should be self explanatory. The details of what "moderate" will entail will be decided upon once the car is selected. Maximum, obviously, consists of every HP increasing modification available (including GT Auto oil change).

I'd like to make a suggestion. Some may agree, some may not, but...
Votes should be combined, to decide the car. If 1 car has the most votes, but the masses were undecided by the HP value, it should still be clear that, that car, won the poll.

For example: The NSX has 16 votes for moderate 19 votes for max
The WRX has 8 votes for moderate, 18 for max.
At the current time, it's pointless, because the NSX wins both ways, but in the possibility that the WRX pulls ahead in 'max hp' specifically. I still feel the NSX actually won the poll. This is based on the fact,t hat 35 people wanted the NSX, vs only 26 for the WRX, just those 35 people couldn't agree on what HP range they wanted.

Just food for thought.

Can't you just be happy that someone puts his own time to create a good comp between tuning garages. Looks like if things aren't exactly how you would like them to be the comp shouldn't exist at all... 👎 All the participants can (and some have) asked for more accurate information about the rules (via pm) and have got them too. If you don't know, don't complain. Just ask.

Totally agree with that. But I dunno if the poll can be modified without losing all the votes casted.

It won't need to be modified, simple counting will reveal the true nature of the votes.

Even if the WRX wins by 1 vote in a single category, it seems only logical that the NSX would win by combined votes when you take into account the total votes split amongst both options of each single car.

No hard feelings at all! I'm sorry you feel that way but I completely understand. I've removed you from the driver list and in your place will be Vengence Tuning.

All the best!

Fantastic freakin' idea!

He didn't ask to be removed, he simply asked for some organization, rules or at least some basic guidelines. While I'm not as worried about it as he is, his point is valid. The front page of the battle is no more than a list of names, with absolutely no real format of what's going to happen. I don't think it's an unreasonable request, for you to explain how you plan on running this battle. Do you? You've still got an entire week before it all begins, but you should consider writing up some ground rules, so that it's clear to all entrants what's going on.

Lol... I never said remove me from the list, I just am unsure how effective this will be, I still plan to participate.

And Temetias no reason to be uncivil, I don't appreciate your hostility.. I never said that if the competition didn't go exactly how I wanted that I would not be happy, I don't know where you came up with that.. The point is you shouldn't have to send a PM to find out the rules, they should be laid out in the original post. I am more than willing to join in a garage battle, I just want it to be the best it possibly can. That is why I spoke up and gave my ideas. I think Adrenaline agrees that there needs to be a little more information provided.

Not trying to be rude, sorry. I was just slightly angry that people complain when someone has put a lot of time and thought to create a nice comp like this. And somehow I got the impression of rebel thoughts from you with your "creating an own comp" ideas. I agree that the rules could be laid out somewhere but if psychot hasn't got them written up yet I think we can live with that.

Oh, okay. I didn't think you'd want to be a part of something you seemed so strongly against. I'll add you back.

You gotta admit though, it is kinda funny :)

"This is dumb and stupid!"
*5 minutes later*
"Hey hey hey! Wait wait! I never said I didn't want to participate!"

:D

Can multiple voting "booths" be implemented on a single post? Meaning 1 for which car, 1 for HP, and one for say...tire choice?

"Booth #1"
NSX --0 votes
R35---1 vote
Focus ST--600 votes

"Booth #2"
stock---2 votes
300hp--0 votes
412hp--599 votes

"Booth #3"
Comfort soft--450 votes
Sport medium--50 votes
Dirt tires---102 votes

People love to bust balls about how a competition should be run, yet I highly doubt those people could run a competition. Just saying. It takes a lot of effort to properly organize a competition and it takes time to develop a competition in to a solid organized structure. Let things happen, even if the first one or two are rocky.

That's because... I AM YOUR EX GIRLFRIEND!
And just so you know, Keith, I'm very disappointed in you.

LMAO, nice guess, and quite close oddly enough! Coulda really had me going, if the last 3 letters were a bit different :P

As for Articzap, I'm not sure if you're implying to me, but if you are, I'm not here to bitch and complain, I'm trying to help get this set up in time to be successful.

General blanket statement as many negative comments have been made.

Come on guys, there are already like 600,000,000 NSX tunes out there, pick something else!
