YAY downloading now! although the downside of currently living in an area with no fiber, cable or even DSL lines I am having to tether my phone to download (unlimited Data plan luckily). Download speeds average about 100KB/s, This may take a while. However I may be able to borrow some faster internet from a friend, so that could help.

And 4k/60fps on GTX 1080 video:

I'll be waiting for the demo, I suppose. Been waiting for Forza to come to the PC for the last three years. An additional week isn't making a speck of difference.
I'm such a weak minded piece of 🤬 Caved in and bought it. The Ultimate Edition, of course. Gotta stop blowin' so much cash on stuff I don't strictly need now

New drivers seem to have done the trick. From Gamersyde.

The promise of new drivers is always something to hold on to when a game does not perform as well as it should, and the release this afternoon of Nvidia's latest ones has proved us right. While we were experiencing quite severe stuttering issues this morning, even at 1080p, our time on the game with the new drivers has been 99% smooth with DSR 1440p. The (minor) drops are now really rare, and they have no negative impact on the experience. We can now say we are relieved for all those who are eargerly waiting for the PC version to unlock on Friday (Ultimate Edition only obviously). If you need proof, simply check out the video inside.
Note: Let us remind everyone that 60 fps racing games don't look very good in streamed videos, even when using our stream, which is way better than YouTube. That's why we advise you to take the time to download the file.

Silly question. Would a consistent 60 FPS be preferred over 100+ FPS, but constantly fluctuating?

Depends on your monitor, If you have a 144hz G-synce, or Free-sync monitor then go full unlocked framerate. If you have a 60Hz monitor then running 100+ framerate it can cause screen tearing. if you have bad screen tearing then it would be good to lock framerate at 60.

I think I'm gonna give up...

First time I launched the download, after 8gb, the download restart from the beginning.
And now after a second try, after 35gb, the same thing again !

With a 500kb/s download speed, it tooks ages to reach 35gb and I can't use internet in the mean time...

Try installing it when you go to bed. Wake up in the morning, and see where it is... thats what i did.

Last time, I started the download at 1p.m, let it downlad during the night but it stopped today at 2p.m.
But, I think I have found the problem, my automatic updates were disabled and my download stopped when other updates where available, so I have enabled it hoping it will works.

The game unlocks for me in 13 hours, and in the past day and a half I have managed to download 16.5GB on my slow internet. Luckily a friend is letting me borrow a bit of his internet tonight so I should be able to actually finish downloading the game by the time it unlocks.

I'm still waiting for the pre-load to show up in Windows Store - guess I must have a pre-anniversary update version of W10 on my machine despite it saying it's up to date. Hassles like this make me glad I have a console as well.

FH3 is running smoothly so far, never saw the FPS coutner dropping below 60 on High/Ultra on my rig (i5 4670, 980Ti, 16GB RAM) (except for some brief freezes here and there). But it is stubbornly capped at 70-73 fps at maximum, even in autoshow and V-Sync off. Other than that, so far so good.

At what resolution?

The motoTV guys have posted a 4K PC video using an Ivy Bridge i7 and GTX980 Ti. They were getting 50-55fps with all settings on high, no AA applied (exact settings at the end of the video).

Looks like it's well optimized, stunning visuals of course.

Yeah, it looks like I should be able to get a 60FPS lock at 3440x1440 with my i7 3770 and GTX980. I'm a little surprised on how well it's running on the PC from the videos I've seen. I didn't expect the first Forza console port to hit it on the first try. I'll find out for myself on Tuesday.

So, I got a little issue here. Game works just fine, but my VIP membership from the Ultimate Edition is not being awarded, it seems :(

Search it up in the store and see if you can install it.

Thats what i did , havent testes if works since i havent played yet.

It's shown as already owned when viewed as part of the Ultimate Edition package, but once you bring the VIP pack up to actually install it, it just asks you to drop the 19.99 again to purchase it.

The reviews on the Windows Store are filled with complaints from folks not receiving their VIP status and whatnot, so it seems like a common problem. Bit miffed about that.

I havent tried on the pc, but what i said was on the xbox, stupid cause this is the windows topic:P

Im figuring out now where i should start on , xbox or pc.

The savegame is synchronized with pc am i right?

I'm running on the 'High' preset.

Thanks! My game set itself to Medium at 30fps for some reason. I changed some things to High, increased the framerate to 60 and so far it is working fine. A lot smoother than in the Xbox One.

I adjusted yesterday a bit and have it on all medium at 1080. Running on 60fps but going down to 45 sometimes, and having some puntual freeze. My specs are:

I5 2500K 3,3 ghz with auto OC to 3,8
8 GB RAM DDR3
Asus Strix GTX 970 4GB

I assume the cpu is becoming a bit weak for this?

Have a look with taskman. Apex tends to completely load two CPU cores and partially load the others on my i7, which to me implies that faster cores would help.

I don't have time to try it out until this evening on my i7 6700k to see how Horizon 3 plays, but someone else with a Skylake CPU will no doubt be along soon to confirm any difference.

Game got unlocked during the night: I will be back from work early this afternoon :-)

I haven't seen information on funky resolutions support (21/9, multi-monitor). I do not have too much hope but this thing would be cool on a triple monitor set-up !
