The "fight" when sumo and seven caught up with me is probably interesting ^^ happened somewhere in th early laps.. 2 or 3 in ascari i think ^^

Yeah me and sumo was fighting up to like lap 10 when he pit.

I've been thinking of organising a couple of friendly races with friends based around FIA GT1, and I was just wondering, why no Aston Martin?

'Cos it handles like turd and you can't get the weight down to a realistic GT1 weight.

If the Aston handles like turd, what does the Lambo drive like :ouch: Seriously though, I did notice the GT5 Aston has 150 more kg than its real life GT1 counterpart. May be too far off, like you obviously decided.

I have just built the other cars to your specifications though anyway, I'll be having a little test to see if I can bring the Aston in line for my own races. In the meantime though, are you looking for a driver or two?

My mate will be team buddies with me if you can accomodate another pair of clean racers. I actually run a weekly race series in the club section so we both know whats expected. Check out my sig if you need to. We would of loved to race the Aston, but if you dont want it in then thats that. We'll do some runs and pick a car and team name just incase anyway.

Cheers mate.

I will probably add the Aston next season, but it is too late now.

We are always looking for more drivers, so you two can both join.

Awesome. Shame about the Aston, but good news all the same. We'll do some racing and testing in preperation for sunday, let you know roughly our best lap times etc. Are there any restrictions on car choice at the moment?

Oh and just so we're aware, how do you set up your lobby? Mine are set like this; heavy damage, edge grip reduction on real, tyre and fuel simulation on, penalties off and slipstreaming set to weak.

i don't think we do heavy damage. but im not 100% sure

Heavy damage is a bad idea, one false move and an innocent driver loses all his chances for even 2nd-to-last place on the first lap.

Unfortunetely, thats racing ;)

I think it adds a certain level of realism, and it also makes drivers more cautious. Myself and my club members drive with a zero contact policy anyway, so any contact that does occur is minimal. However when heavy damage is in the back of your mind you take less chances anyway.

I dare say races where there is no damage at all are far more chaotic. And with people taking more chances it leads to stupid overtake attempts and a general feeling of invulnerability. Hence race ending incidents, putting people in gravel etc.

All in my opinion of course :D I drive the same way with heavy damage as I do with no damage. I'm a gentlemen racer me ;)

I race with Captain Roh once in a while and it's a brilliant organisation and there is never any contact.

I have a Daytona testing lounge open right now.

Full damage is good as long as it's a long race with a grid of drivers who don't crash very often. Most of the time you want to keep it on light though.

Err... you mean to say most of the drivers here crash a lot?

I'm also wondering why there are question marks in the second post regarding bhp. Have all the cars been properly run in before testing? I ask because when I drove zero mile new builds, the Lamborghini was 1.4 seconds off the pace!

Corvette: Power: 584BHP @ 0 Miles

Do I have to bring a zero mile Corvette every race? Can you race with your C6 above 584bhp?

Lamborghini: Power: Limited to 600BHP @ ? Miles

Whatever the milage the power needs restricting to 600bhp yes?

GTR: Power: 567BHP @ 0 Miles

Do I have to bring a zero mile GTR every race? Can you race with your GTR above 567bhp?

GT40: Power: Limited to 520BHP @ ? Miles

Whatever the milage the power needs restricting to 520bhp yes?

I made this video too, because I wasnt to be sure about your guidlines for etiquette and track boundaries for Daytona. I basically drove in the manner I would in my own series. Points of interest are;

Pit Exit: As you can see I exit the pits using the slip road behind turn one. Do you do this here too?

Turn Three: I allow using the full width of the track out of turn three, hopping the yellow curb and crossing over the white line. Same here?

Bus Stop: As you can see I slow down enough to make sure I am ultra clean through both apex's. I dont contact any grass, and I was wondering if you allow straight lining, ie putting wheels on grass for better lap times.

Pit Entry: I turned beneath the yellow line off turn 12 as soon as possible. Is this neccesary.

...

Oh and just so you know, as long as the host has DLC, anybody coming to the lobby can race at Spa 👍

I'm sorry, have you signed up for the championship? Not sure why you are posting all this if you havn;t signed up...

Sorry for double post, but I forgot to ask.. Daytona has no grid markings. Do you plan to do a rolling start or are you going to tell people on the night how to start the race?

Sorry, completely forgot you signed up.

And I was planning on a rolling start this weekend.

No, you have to limit the car to the BHP listed.

That's cool, but I think we could use a specific rule from another league that has worked pretty well - basically, with a rolling start, passing would be prohibited until after the first corner. This'll reduce aggressive maneuvers right at the beginning so no one's race will be ruined instantly (unless, of course, they themselves go off :mischievous:)

Not a bad idea, but what if someone spins or goes wide? Do you pass them then or what?

I think a better idea would be to start the race on the back straight just before the bus stop as a standing start...

Of course, just like you would pass if someone spins on the formation lap.

I just spent a minute staring at your account until I finally found out that it wasn't quite an anagram of mine...

Almost is,

Could be NoxCobra

Sorry guys, I'm trying hard to get in on this championship but there are still questions about how to approach the racing here not answered. Can some one have a go at filling me in so I know whats what. I dont want me or my team mate to come in and cause problems for everyone. Thank you.

Also I just want to be 100% sure that any bhp figure listed in post two is the figure you should be restricting your car to. Also I'm guessing anything tunable, ie suspension gearing and downforce can be setup as the driver pleases.

I was also wondering how this is policed. Do you set the PP limit to the GTR cap and have the GTR's enter the track? Then set PP limit to GT40 then have GT40's join the track? And so on and so on?

And the final thing I was wondering is about this rule;

No collisions or blocking on purpose are allowed

Does this mean you arent allowed to defend your position?
