It's not offside goal for NZ because canavaro touch the ball before. So in rules, if deffensor touch ball the offside player can make action after.

Sorry to correct you, but the fact of cannavaro touching the ball doesn't change the illegal condition of Smelts, this is in the Fifa's rulebook. As I said, Illegal.

3-1 was not an easy win, our team was effective, wasn't brilliant but very opportunistic, a illegal goal by Luís Fabiano ( the fabulous ), and many, many ridiculously violent fouls by the african team, Elano and Michel Bastos suffered outrageous attacks, Michel's one should be awarded with a red card.

We lost Kaká in a silly way, but at least this gives him more time to get fit for the next phase.

Well the biggest sporting event here, that somewhat compares media coverage wise to the WC, is the NFL Playoffs (ending with the Super Bowl naturally). So let's say before one of the quarterfinal playoff games all the players for 1 team decided to revolt against the coaching staff and refused to practice. The media outlets here would turn it into a big, big deal. Therefore I can only imagine what a big deal this must be across the Atlantic.

I mean if something like this happened in the NFL playoffs I'd be speechless. I guess I'm just trying to wrap my head around this development by drawing a comparison to something I'm more familiar with.

I think the french team players 'r taking power, and the staff does all this ousted by the players. But the French press and a majority of Frenchs football peoples (ligue 1 staff, managers, old french stars like Lisarazu, Leboeuf etc..) thinks the players and only them are ass hole and spoiled childrens.
Some members of staff have resigned because all players dont go to training.

For me it's cause to bad education from city, and to much money (big heads players for a big parts) and Domenech is not a manager he's just an error.

Not fantastic, but a good performance by Brazil! The 2nd goal was stupidly validated by the ref. How can he do that when he was next to that play and saw the hole thing, thats strange isnt it?! The 1st arm touch sometimes you miss it , but 2 times in a row...

I belive if that goal was invalid, Ivory Coast would be more motivated...

About KAKA... Ivory wanted him to go home and they got it. Wasnt fair, but Kaka lifts his sholder when he sees Ivory player coming. Unfair yes, but not that much in my point of view. At some point i thought they were going to start a fight ! Always fun to watch !

Zidane is a punk too. The whole french team should go home if they don't want to play. Get a group of french footballers that actually want to play the game even if they don't win. Even if they're amateurs.

I'm a bit gutted as I missed my first games today Managed to get home in time for the Brazil game farce; it was entertaining all the same.

What is going on with the teams in this tournament? I can't believe the press stories about France and England, and what about the Italy result, if Spain screw up I can only assume the guy that got sacked from the (English)FA was perhaps right about match fixing?

Nicknamealguem-]Don't forget that we still need to win against North Korea tomorrow, if we want to fight for that 2nd place. I think Brazil winning against North Korea was quite beneficial to us, because it will force North Korea to open up and to risk more, since North Korea defends with 11 men in the back.
If we beat North Korea, I think we will be against Brazil's B-team or most of the B-team or even a more relaxed Brazil, so our chances of drawing or even a slight possibility of winning could be up front

You're absolutely right,but I think even against Brazil B Team-in which I presume players like Dany Alves willl be included -if we play like we did in the first game it will be very hard to avoid defeat

Yep, it was really a meh. Of course, it's a big thing for the French but in the neighborhood countries it was nothing more than a simple news coverage saying that one player revolted against the couch and was deported home.

After Portugal Ivory Coast Deco indirectly called the coach incompetent (witch is true). There was a some big fuss around it, but I don't think there was much of a fuss in neighborhood countries.

Yep a big meh I guess people just found it funny


About the Game :

Good,although not great,game from Brazil...against a very STRONG (pun intended Team.Good enought to confirme the Favourite condition(right alongside with Argentina) for winning the trophy.
Ivory Coast wasn't clearly up for the task and did a shamefull second half with many faults,simulation and agressions:tdown:

N.Korea must win tomorrow's match, so they'll try to attack Portugal, being so, there's lot of space to show the Portuguese talent. Cristiano Ronaldo will score twice tomorrow. 3-0 in my guess, so we'll face you guys to see who'll get the first spot in this Group and will avoid to face Spain in this early stage.

Chile will beat switzerland, 2-1 and Spain will crush Honduras 3-0, looks like Spain didn't get the luck on it's side, so 3-0 seems reasonable.

Lousy first half from the National Team!!!
The only good play was the one that resulted in GOAAAAL.(is it really so difficult to do that 7 or 8 times per game that allow to score 2 or 3 goals????
Bad options by the coach-why is Miguel playing?Why did he ever went to Z.A. in the first place?!
Bad attitude from most players-clearly out of edge,most part-a ridiculous amount of wrong passes,unable to keep ball possession and look for empty spaces... I know that the slippery pitch and this stupid new ball don't help but c'mon for Christ's sake some cool head in the passing never harmed anyone...
One wonders how some of this players even play in some of the best clubs in the world

Overall they aren't showing the quality it takes to go into the next phase against a perfect average/mediocre N.K team that never the less are very committed players and won't make our life easy in the second half,that is about to begin...back to rating(hope not ) in 45 minutes.

Nice win by Portugal, looks like N.Korea only knows how to defend with 11 players simultaneoulsy. Yesterday i said to my friends we were going to win 6-0 and they said "youre crazy!" and i said "am i?!" i guess i am, because i should have bet some money with them ! I knew has soon the 2nd goal was in, was going to be something like this but never a 7-0 victory!

Im sorry, but if you werent so negative about ronaldo, you would have seen that he made a good contribution to the team in the attacks, good passes and giving a good depth to our game, and facts are that he "gave" 1 goal and scored another!
