Ugh yes.

Did you see how Mexico played? THAT is the real mexican team. As we all saw, France ended up being a blank check (sorry all french guys here but it's true) and I knew that, when they played against France, that it was bein' too easy, and the 1-1 with South Africa... Mexico could have won, but the immense pressure of opening the World Cup against the local team with almost 80k people vuvuzueleing against you was too much.

If there was an even team with Mexico in this first round it was Uruguay, and this was absultely evident. The game could have been for any of the teams, but alas, I feel that Uruguay deserved the win because their strategy was way better than what Mexico did. Aguirre did such odd moves... taking out Guardado (the guy who smashed the ball in the post) and Blanco at the same time totally parted the team down, and holly heck we do not have good strikers!!!

Mexico, again, failled miserably in front of the goal because we do not have a competent forward line. Heck how I missed a guy called Jared Borguetti, who scored with the head a lot more than whit his feet. Too old to play now, I bet he was smacking himself in the face after seeing how at least two times Mexico could have scored if it was him the one hitting the ball.

But "ifs" do not exist. Mexico will be eaten alive by Argentina, because today Mexico showed it's real, unefficient level. Argentina has been walking along, when they shift into second or third, I cannot see many teams stopping them. Mexico won't stand a chance. Goodbye fifth game X _ x

My takes for tomorrow are:

Group C
1st USA
2nd England
My initial prediction was vice-versa, but after seeing the performances of oth teams and who they're playing against tomorrow, it's debatable, especially since the US face Algeria, which should be a 1-0 win for them. England face group leader Slovenia, and though I think they'll win, I doubt it'll be by much.

1st Germany
2nd Serbia
Germany will have to beat Ghana to advance, and I think they will. It's too big a chance to leave it to a tie, especially since Serbia beating Australia (very likely) would put Ghana in second place and Germany isn't known for taking crazy chances. Of course, Germany wasn't known for losing against Serbia either, but hey.

Mine's updated every minute (every second, if I'm watching and surfing). I was 5 minutes late with the two evening games yesterday, because I couldn't be bothered to watch them and was playing MW2 instead

It is looking good for this afternoon - a few of us are sneaking out to watch the football in a local taverna, and we are mostly supporting England... AFAIK, no-one wants them to bomb, although I strongly suspect that the majority of other punters in the bar will... still, in the absence of one's own nation, it makes sense for me to support my adopted home of six years, and to hope that they'll live to fight another day in the tournament... still, my head is telling me that 3/1 on a draw is a sound bet - which, tellingly enough, my English mate has already taken up...

I m sorry Cano, but Mexico 'r a greeeat team i love them play (especialy durring 80",90") but last time you'r playing well versus no team, with no strategy and no team play, no brain.
Mexico - France cant be a reference for you.
Uruguay Mexico was a reference, and i think Argentina win 2-1. It will be a great match.
Chili Spain will be a greeeeaattt match too.

Our mostly Scottish directors have been unusually generous and are allowing us all to watch the England game in the board room or on the big but naff plasma in reception, I guess their generosity was helped by the fact that none of them have come in today!

Not as good as the pub or home but better than nothing.

@Omnis - now that I think about a bit more I think something was lost in translation, and we're both using the same language humorously enough. That link I provided is for ESPN3's streaming online coverage, not necessarily their cable TV coverage. The online streaming quality is none too shabby either.

Nevermind. I've been using ESPN3 since the cup started. It seems like you're trying to teach me how to use it or something as if I'm having a problem watching it. I'm not. I just prefered to watch the HD broadcast because I was playing Mass Effect at the same time.

What's really ticking me off is that the US deserved to win two games and they were taken away due to bad refereering. England on the other hand, is going to the next round as group leader with a very poor performance.
