Overall,it feels pretty good.Almost too twichy but I think thats just me not used to it fully yet.
Also I wish you could turn all the driving aids off.

From drifting pretty much any car in GT5p (and well), to hardly controlling a stock 370z. I can feel the difference in physics, but the over exaggerated oversteer is a bit worrying. In real life it really isn't that hard to correct a car going sideways...it's actually quite easy...in gt5p yeah the physics weren't 100% true to life but when drifting it did feel right. In this I can only manage to catch it once out of 5 times, usually it will just spin with the slightest touch of the throttle...hmm. I can manage little slides around corners, but actual drifting is almost impossible. In the options it says TC is on level 7 and you can't change it...but then I still do get wheelspin, but through a corner I can't keep that wheelspin going to guide me through the corner...It's confusing me cause I don't know where the problem is coming from.

EDIT: This is all with a G25 by the way

I found that drifting came pretty natural, once I did a few practice laps.

The new physics engine is outstanding, i can feel that there is much more depth than prologe. Does anyone know why you can't turn off driving aids on the stock 370? Makes no sense to me

You can, use a wheel XD

I guess they're trying to eliminate controller users? This TCS is horrid. Just awful, so awful.
If you have the wheel fully cranked, it will NOT let the wheels spin, but as soon as you stop turning full tilt, they let loose... typically on exit, when I STOP turning is when I need to countersteer, go figure.
I really can't understand for the life of me why they would limit the options, for it, especially to 7?!?!?!? I've never used 7, ever.

But the tuned cars loads of awesome to drive, since there is no TCS on it.

"X" gets you to where you can select views. Then "Select" changes the views. And you probably cannot rotate the camera because your controller is not set up to look left and right with the right analog stick. You have to set it up that way in the button configuration menu. ;)
OH, that's not set to anything by default is it? How can he tell us that the right stick is used to look around if you have to set it that way? :|

well, did you try using the real-time adjustment menu in-game (to turn off the TCS)? perhaps that would work. :)

I know I wasn't crazy when I was thinking the grass was so evil and made you like 720° spin outs as soon as you hit it xD

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I hear there is no "bonnet" view? What's that all about? That has actually dashed pretty much all my excitement and anticipation about this demo, because for me it's all about the bonnet view. That's the only way I can drive GT, any other view feels unnatural and spoils the feel of the game somewhat. I'm actually quite pissed off!

If this is any indication of the final game, I will be getting a Forza III Elite pack on Saturday and selling my PS3. This trash took 5 years to make?!

Somehow.. I knew this would be your reaction even before the demo arrived :).. Well hopefully now you can go enjoy Forza III and stop floating around here annoying us about how much you dislike Gran Turismo every 5 minutes.

I just got in the tuned car. Thank god you can turn off TCS in it. The car actually bites. The stock one doesn't, you just drive flat out all the time. In other words, it doesn't really feel like a car, at least not a sports car.
And I can't believe the default controls are X to accelerate, [] to brake! You're missing out on the incredible amount of travel the triggers give you!

Please do, because to be honest I'm sick of hearing your constant negative comments. 👎

If you're not happy with the way the small download GT Academy Time Trial is then please post in a way that is more constructive instead of the tripe you've posted above.

Thanks for reading.

You mean before the start of the trial, at the menu? Yes. other than that, there's nothing I can do with the handheld.
I think they were trying to have everyone have to use TCS for the stock 370, but forgot about the wheel with the option, that or they want to boost sales of their wheel, since so many top drivers use the G25.

It's more than 5.
And the physics are fantastic. :D

Of course. They've obviously spent 5 years making a 220mb demo, right? ;-)

EDIT: Beaten

To me looks like a lot improvements over GT5P. :)

PROS:
graphics look better overall (trees, road textures, 3d stuff)
spinning and catching the cars feels a lot more convincing
brakes! actually feel like brakes now !
sounds, as noticed earlier, much better
suspension thingy looks better and you can even feel it working thru FFB now
you can turn the map OFF :)

CONS:
no marbles, tire rubber on track. How realistic is that?
^^ wasn't expecting it, still a bit disappointed (since GT1 actually)
no smoke, no backfire ... no explanation needed
no skidmarks! (seriously?) car slides and you see nothing of what would happen IRL! I know its just a small demo, but THAT is what makes it look so sterile, unnatural, rather... unreal!
stock car has TC fixed on 7 for controllers ... how fair is that? I bet my shoe it would be faster on 1 or 0 or something...

Generally I can't complain, 'cause everything seems improved and driving feels more natural and that's most important. 👍

That's giving them to much credit. It's only 201MB :D
How dare they, those bastards.
From what I can see, it seems like they did actually make the game my dreams were made of the very first time I played GT3, and just knew the next system would be unreal. didn't know I'd have to wait so long, but it's pretty well exactly what I imagined. :D

Please do that ASAP so you have better view on comparing those two and finally understand the utter stupidity of any "GT vs Forza" debates :D
