FITT Tuner Car Shootout

Took me a second to work it out too. But CW = Clockwise and CCW = Counter Clockwise.

Damn 575pp car, weighs about 1500kg and is only able to do 1:01. :yuck:

I'm angry! And due to this I keep messing up every single corner now. :banghead: I need a break!

I wouldn't get too stressed if you're clocking those sort of times, i'm nowhere near a 1:01!!!

I haven't been tuning cars for quite a while. I must say I really hate how tuning got weakened, I'm turning spring rates up and down and it doesn't really seem to make a dramatic difference on this sort of tracks. :indiff:

I noticed the same thing. It's been a while since I've tuned anything and I feel like I'm starting back at square one with suspension settings. :indiff: I feel a bit sorry for those that are gonna have to drive these as I'm really just throwing out something that looks decent and hoping it works. :embarrassed:

Continuing that thought, my Evo is done for 490 but I had my eye on one of the Zs as well so I'll be playing with that tonight. Haven't touched the 575 R32 in a while. It's still all over the track, especially coming up to and through the tunnel. I'll be looking at some other tunes for it as a starting point, if I can find any.

Grand Valley is not an easy track. It is one of my favorites for tuning though, because if it works here, it will be pretty good on most tracks. Both normal direction and reverse present different challenges. On forward, if you can be fast in the end of straight braking zone and in the uphill/downhill section leading to the tunnel, you can produce fast laps. On reverse, the end of the straight left hander is everything.

My 270R is a real pain to tune and drive, not totally unexpected though since it's an S14 Silvia. It either understeers at critical moments or decides it wants to be a D1GP car. I'm having fun though, I didn't enter it to win so I'm not pressured with lap times. 👍

Then there's my ER34 which is a D1GP car and occasionally likes to remind me of that fact. The gentle oversteer comes in handy in some sections though, but in others a gentle right foot/thumb is needed.

Not 100% finished with either but I'll try and get them done for tomorrow.

I'll leave the R1 on share since it's up to spec anyway, and I'll tune an RGT next time I'm on GT5, as well as break in the R34, since that's slipped my mind for the longest time.

Absolutely love that car, so, so quick, but as you say, an arse to tune. Hoping you manage to do something decent with it, Lordy knows I've tried. It's a Troll at the High Speed Ring...

Really no change between the R1 and Opera tune. I found it worked well for both cars in my hands. Car is on share. It is from the OCD and requires no breaking in.

Both of my Zs are on share as well. Went with the Z-Tune for 575 and the 350RS for 490. I'll get the tunes posted up and FRs out tomorrow if there are any missing.
