If my dulled driving and tuning sense are anything to go by, it'll be best you don't stamp on the throttle at every given opportunity.

Just sayin'.

Meh, can you tell me what times you drove with it? What you think is it capable of? 1:04? 1:03? 1:02? 1:01?

1:03.6, I think that the most it has in it is a low 1:03, or a very high 1:02 on a lucky lap.

1:03.588 isn't too shabby then?

Finished the 575PP testing. Will do the 490PP when I've recovered, maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Me trying to reproduce your lap by using your masterfully driving style:

I tell you this thing understeers like mad, not easy to drift. I did not change any settings btw. Oh and I used a DFGT wheel.

Master Ninja Edit: I drove a 1:02.9 in a serious attempt, no joke. Actually there was another lap clocked at 1:02.8, but it got redflaged, therefore I don't count it.

Go die doc.

As for the understeer…hmm…needs a larger difference in spring rate numbers.
As usual you missed my master ninja edit:

It's actually a really nice tune.
It is very smooth, controlled and forgiving. Everybody can drive it, it gives you a really comfortable feeling and it doesn't feel sloppy at all. I must mention the lovely balanced behaviour under all types of load, such as throttle, brake, turn in, etc. The transmission is wonderful and... heck, the tune is great just... understeering...

:dopey:👍

And Doc, I think you've actually mastered conveying sarcasm through the internet!

No, that was actually a second smaller edit. I quoted the master ninja edit at 9:50 my time, but the second smaller edit happened at 9:56. Following the master edit came before 9:50 or I'm simply able to quote things from the future.

Future sounds legit.

EDIT: It didn't even list the ninja edit in the edit history cause it was that ninja(ish) fast.

After 15 laps each:

575PP

trackripper123 - RUF CTR2 '96

1:03.772

Off-throttle instability in almost every situation and to top it off some understeer as well. If the brakes were better, and the car was more stable it could easily be the fastest car here.

DC - 4

It was a tough compromise to strike, either understeer or the tail-happiness. It worked for me I have to say, but I know it's not an easy car to drive and I hit the wall (both metaphorically and literally) while tuning it, nothing I did made it noticably better, so I left it in its current state before I made it worse. Cheers for driving it though.

Go die doc.

As for the understeer…hmm…needs a larger difference in spring rate numbers.

Those extension dampers look like they're set up for heavy understeer. The rest of the car looked bang-on but the dampers look like they can cause a lot of on-throttle understeer.

Anyway, I'm impressed with my car's performance. It hasn't set the greatest lap time, but at least the handling was good. :sly:

Test results for 575pp class on Grand Valley East Reverse

Tested using DS3 (pad, rather than stick) and Auto Transmission. Cars run for 10 laps each. All aids off except driving line and ABS 1.

In time order:-

Dr_Slump - Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base '06
Time - 1:03:189
DC - 7.5
Turn in on this car is insane. Not got the best grip in the world, or the easiest to handle, but man it feels fast.

Motor City Hamilton - Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base '06
Time - 1:03:226
DC - 10.0
Felt like the middle ground bewteen Krenkme's 'does what you want' and Doc's 'insanity', and so the time proves. A little loose than Krenkme's or Praiano's, and quicker too. Good brakes, good turn in, good rotation. Easy to get the power down.

krenkme - Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base '06
Time - 1:03:596
DC - 9.5
No drama with this one. Does exactly what you want it to. Very stable around the whole track. Feelks like it lacked pace a little compare to the top two. Very good tune.

robrabbitman - Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base '06
Time - 1:03:658
DC - 8.5
Another good tune on this car. Good grip and speed through the corners. A little understeer detected but manageable.

Praiano63 - Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base '06
Time - 1:03:772
DC - 9.0
Nice and stable. Easy to carry speed through corners and easy to get power down on exit. Good car.

Onboy123 - Nismo GT-R R-Tune '99
Time - 1:03:920
DC - 6.0
Oversteer and understeer both evident here. Struggled in the switchback entering the tunnel, and the tight right hander on exit. Coped well with the rest of the track though and was quickest of the none BNR's for me.

DigitalBaka - Nismo Fairlady Z Z-tune (Z33) '03
Time - 1:03:971
DC - 6.5
Nice car to drive if you treat it right. Push too hard however and you may regret it. Lots of spin off's and tyre marks with this car.

trackripper123 - RUF CTR2 '96
Time - 1:04:676
DC - 4.0
I've never been able to master these RUF's, and so it proved again. Lap 7 was my quickest, with only 3 or 4 out of the 10 eligible. No idea how I managed the time I did. Was a battle to control around the whole lap.

xande1959 - HPA Motorsports FT565 twin turbo Audi TT
Time - 1:04:686
DC - 5.0
A little too much understeer for me. Was stable enough, but I did experience that pain in the thumb you get from trying to make it turn!

VTiRoj - Blitz ER34 D1 Spec '04
Time - 1:05:062
DC - 4.5
Great brakes, good grip through the quicker corners, and definately fast, once you get it going. Getting it going was difficult, however. Very hard to get the power down coming out of the slower corners. Somebody with better throttle control will get good times with it.

iainoflo85 - High End Performance G37
Time - 1:05:071
DC - 7.0
Very stable car, providing no drama throughout the lap. Just didn't have the pace to match the others. Was good to drive something different though, in between all of the BNR's. Good effort.

Was expecting good things from this car having seen it dominate a previous FITT event at Spa, and it didn't disappoint. Quick, good turn in and rotation, easy enough to get on the power. Watch out for the lift off oversteer though. A potential R1 killer, and i'm surprised to see only one entered.

trackripper123 - RUF RGT '00
Time - 1:10:005
DC - 9.5
Provided a quick lap time. Quite agile for it's size. Good rotation with a hint of oversteer on exit.

NEWDRIVER2 - Trial Celica SS-II (ZZT231) '03
Time - 1:10:546
DC - 9.0
Very enjoyable car to drive. Was expecting lots of understeer being an FF. Good to see you managed to dial most of it out. Good speed, good rotation, solid under braking. Good effort.

DigitalBaka - Gran Turismo 350Z RS
Time - 1:10:657
DC - 8.0
Smooth through the quicker corners. Good turn in with a hint of oversteer. Struggled with power application when in 2nd gear though.

Dr_Slump -Trial Celica SS-II (ZZT231) '03
Time - 1:10:682
DC - 7.0
Quick and nimble with understeer ever present. Struggled to get power down on exit of slower corners. Will provide quicker times with better throttle control.

iainoflo85 - Nismo Fairlady Z S-tune (Z33) '02
Time - 1:10:686
DC - 8.5
Stable under braking. Good turn in with a hint of oversteer on exit. Good solid tune.

biffa3 - Mine's Lancer Evolution VI '00

Was happy with my 1st tune, couldn't quite get rid of all the understeer though.

krenkme - RUF 3400S '00
Time - 1:10:874
DC - 7.0
Nice steady car. Understeer and oversteer both present here though, and a little difficult to get full throttle out of the slower corners.

xande1959 - RUF 3400S '00
Time - 1:10:899
DC - 7.5
Very balanced car. Good under braking. Good turn in and rotation. Little oversteer but easy to control.

Motor City Hamilton - Mugen S2000 '00
Time - 1:10:955
DC - 6.5
Wants to be quick, but hampered by lift off understeer, then oversteer when applying power.

HaoleHatingWRX - Mine's Lancer Evolution VI '00
Time - 1:11:107
DC - 6.0
Good tune. A little understeer which I expected. A little short on pace. Easy to get opn the power, good through the corners.

VTiRoj - Nismo 270R '94
Time - 1:13:296
DC - 5.0
Was very difficult to control. Has lots of power, which provided lots of oversteer. If the tunnel has smoke detectors, they would most definately be going off. Almost made it to halfway through with the tyres still smoking!

Yeah, it did feel like the turtle out of this lot. I could've chosen one of the faster cars, but I thought I'd try something different from the rest. Thanks for the great feedback for my first FITT tune.

Was definatley car choice rather than tune. It's one of the reason's why I haven't tuned previously. I don't really have the time or patience to go through the car lists to pick the more likely winner, and don't really know enough not to. I only picked the Mine's Evo at 490pp because it didn't took like anybody else was going to!

Last Call for 575PP and 490PP tunes. Johnnypenso, Onboy123, lilcat89 do you need a few more days to submit or are you sitting this one out?

Also, if anyone is interested in entering the Amuse S2000 R1 '04 bonus class, let's keep that open for a few weeks. Everyone will be testing the two official classes during that time. The R1 class should be just for fun.

I'm sitting out.

Oh god. :( It appears my tune isn't to people's tastes... Sorry. :embarrassed:

You can't imagine how bad I felt after seeing iano's test results!

Unstable under braking, and some understeer on exit. But otherwise was okay.

DC - 7
I'm not sure why you think it understeers more than the other entries, I can't reproduce this.

I wasn't sure if I should use a brake balance of 8/7 or 8/8, I decided for 8/8 for fun's sake in the very last minute.

Thanks for testing, Iain and biffa! I had a feeling my Z-Tune would be a handful, no worries if you put it in the wall a few times. :embarrassed: Surprised there were issues with oversteer on exit though. That was something I didn't experience after tuning the LSD, which is why the downforce is low on both entries. I'll see how I can address that.

I recognise that could improve the balance of the car but once I tried and I did the 3rd back a good time to min I thought if I got the testers are going better than I but thanks bifa. congratulations

Was just gonna paste the link for you!

It's at the top of the list of 490pp entries.

Yeah, I see the link - but there was no car name next to it, so I skipped it, I don't know why (= brain fart). I do apologise. I will run it in a bit.

EDIT: Done now, sorry for the oversight Biffa.

Not much to say about this one, it did better than I had expected for an FF, there was no understeer that I could find, the handling was pretty loose, but I liked it, it wasn't too much.

DC - 9.5

Thank you Sir for that pretty time and comment about my car :D.
I made that car to be loose to remove the under steer of the FF cars .
And I know it's drove like a FR cars but you can Handel that loose and easy to correct it I think :dopey:
Thank you again Lain .👍
