Not with the FIA (finally) cracking down on drivers leaving the confines of the circuit. There is no way Raikkonen should have won that race in 2009.

Is that the only success he has had at that circuit? Also, do you think that he
plans to do the exact same thing this time around knowing that FIA are taking a firmer stance?

Did he cut the track or something? I must have missed it as usual..

They're referring to the 2009 Belgium Grand Prix where on the 1st corner of the first lap Raikkonen went wide and ended up passing Fisicella for the lead

At the start of the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix, Raikkonen deliberately ran wide at the start and used the run-off on the outside of La Source to pass two cars in front of him. This was a significant move because it put him in a position to chase down Giancarlo Fisichella. It was permitted because he was deemed to have extended his lap - he actually travelled futher on the first lap than anyone else - but the FIA overlooked the way he was able to take the corner much faster and gain an advantage from it.

Basically he didn't bother with the first hairpin corner at all, passed cars off the track and carried massive speed up the hill onto the straight.

Out Vetteling Vettel indeed.

I think, if everything goes to plan, this one is Hamiltons. I really want the Loti to round off the podium, or maybe JB up there too, just as long as Alonso is having a bad race. Unfortunatly, he's good at damage limitation. :grumpy:

If it's classified under copyright law as illegal then yes it is.

Ok, I'll delete the link to be on the safe side. Over a year here and no infractions yet, want it to stay that way :D

Edit: Can't do it. I get an "Invalid Link" :grumpy:

It was close though...

The FIA are very protective of their copyright. Don't do it again.

You do realise that - in all seriousness - McLaren invesnted the DRS, right? The system is based on the thinking that created the F-duct.

Yes. Thats what I said :sly:

I bet that scared the 🤬 out of him
Yep. And it happened Again 2 years later in the Bahrain or Malaysia qualy session I believe. Kimi's rear wing blew right off!

This was Adrian Newey in the "fragile stages" of his career so to say.

Sweltering conditions. Looking really good for Lotus. I dont want to jinx them however so ill keep my mouth shut but fingers crossed!!

You know as ho hum as hungary has been in the past it is not short on drama and controversy. Last years rainy race. Alonsi's qualifying blowup. Massa's accident.

I honestly thought both of those incidents happend at other tracks.

Nothing ever happens in Hungary ;)

If you watched GP3 race one, you saw how (yes, Felix da Costa:) ) went into the lead on T1 from P2 on the grid, and lead the whole race.

In these weather and grip conditions Grosjean could do the same if (and it is a big if, with his history of poor starts) he gets a good start.

Hamilton has had a few bad starts as well. Grosjean has a chance.

I think it should be a good race. I hope Sauber can get a good result again as they are slowly becoming less of an underdog team with 2 exciting drivers.

I'm going for a Mclaren and the two Lotus cars on the podium, in which order though, I'm not sure.

That would burn for Raikkonen if Grosjean got the "new" team's first win. I would love it though. Here we go. Race start. T- 5mins!
Low on sleep. High on adrenaline!
