How many corners will Hamilton last before Grosjean crashes into him? :D At the last race I thought Grosjean would go out in the first corner, I was wrong but he did go out on the 1st lap. :)

Great lap by Hamilton, Massa did quite well also, he's super close to Alonso and great driving by Grosjean since he struggle all week-end until qualification. Mercedes have huge problem apparently dunno what's up with them since the engine is the same as the one of the poleman. Really surprising. They just can't keep up with Mclaren-Ferrari-Lotus-Redbull developpement speed apparently. Also no luck for Webber he's just 2 tenth from Vettel in Q2 but out. What a shame. Very close qualification if you take Hamilton out of it ^^

Now for the race I dont know, Grosjean might get a good chance since Lotus have pretty nice pace, that is if he dont crash into Hamilton or Vettel on first lap.

I think he sometimes commentates F1, like e.g the German Grand Prix last week on star sports/espn.

Can't believe espn and star sports could dedicate 10 over channels to cover the London Olympics, but not a single one for F1 quali today :grumpy: Had to watch from a live stream with a c***load of ads.... 👎

Exactly, can't they just have put 1 channel aside for the quail. Hope they're showing the race tomorrow.

Is it karuin Chandhok who announces the GP2 races?

(Apologies for spellings)

I say get him on the Formula 1 announcing desk. He knows what he is talking about and even though he's not talking away 24/7 when he does talk he states some valid and intelligent points.

Go Karun, he sometimes does commentaries for Star Sports/ESPN. Always like it when he's there.

Anyways, really happy that Hamilton took pole an Button was close. Good job by Romain, hope he gets a podium tomorrow.

According to the schedule (from the cable tv box) , the race would be shown live... Only on Star Sports, no ESPNHD.

And yeah have to agree with you on Karun too, his insights/comments are often quite interesting to take note of.

Hmm, so at least the race will be shown live.

I see Grojan attacking Hamilton on the first corner. He must otherwise Hamilton will open a gap. Then again Vettel is behind him so he has to worry a bit, both drivers should. First 5 laps will be tight between these drivers. Cant forget about Alonso eithet, he is a great starter and he knows how to gain positions fast.

Btw, how many tires did Hamilton use, soft ones?

He was the one that did the less lap with Vettel, so he should be pretty good on tyres, the commentary didnt know if he put new or old one tho so I'm not sure. He didnt put any in Q1 tho when Vettel used one but Vettel did less lap in Q3 then Lewis. So yeah I guess Lewis and Seb are the one with the fresh tyres, Alonso also did only one quali lap in Q3 so he should have the same tyres, Grosjean might have used them a bit more, but the lotus use usually less tyres. Will be an interesting GP.

Don't know if anyone's posted this so far, but there's more controversy surrounding Red Bull. It seems their car has a suspension that can be adjusted by hand without tools, so it could be changed for the race. Red Bull say they haven't changed the car at all, but hey, it does lead to suspicion.

When is redbull not pushing the limits?

What has Grosjean done to deserve such fear? He has made poor starts in terms of speed but tries to keep his nose clean. Got squeezed in Monaco cause he was slower and ended up 4 wide.

With these guys on the 6 top spots I'd expect a clean start at the front.

Can't be sure, he was the only one with 2 sets of those, don't know if he did use both. He might have made the pole on a (2nd) fresh set, hence the big difference.

As for GT2 all I know is the Portuguese Felix da Costa won by a mile or so. Hope to see it later :D

Nothing. The Sky commentators remarked that he seems to have an F1 car magnet on his car, because he's been the innocent party in so many crashes this year.

Only thing he's doing wrong by trying to stay away, is showing "weakness" in some way.

On the other hand he has gained enough respect to be able to go around pretty hard to overtake top drivers without being taken out.

I prefer it like that, earning it rather than the overly aggressive style.

Any talk of Vettel's lap being invalidated due to his off track moment on the last corner?

Not likely because Fernando got away with it in Germany last week.

Grosjean looking properly fantastic!! And we know the Mclaren isnt very nice to its tires!

Interestingly if anyone is prepped for the possibilty of rain its Romain Grosjean. He looks to be running the most downforce with slower straightline speed. And oddly Vettel was pretty up there in straightline speed.

Go Hamilton! Go everyone! Im tired of the Alfonso show lol.

If I may say .Hamilton's pole lap was beautiful!!

I wouldn't say tired of it, but Hamilton is looking strong and so is Lotus. i'd be betting on a win from those tomorrow, but who knows.

Hopefully this is the momentum McLaren needed to get back in the Championship fight. The closer it is at the top, the better the last 3 races are.

Maybe Alonso =

Not a chance! The only way that can happen is with a dominant car. The championship isn't exactly in Alonso's hands. He's not dictating the race weekends but rather pouncing on others errors. Mclaren and Red Bull are either going to be closing the gap or crashing out each weekend because the Ferrari doesn't have the ultimate speed.

But if the Championship were actually to be decided 4 races before the end..

The last 3 races would be even MORE exciting! Nobody has anything to lose!! "Pin It To Win It"

If you've beyond package, you can watch it on channel 835.
And it's nonsense to show loads of olympic channel! :grumpy:

You are right. Next race is at Spa and we all know will win there.
Not with the FIA (finally) cracking down on drivers leaving the confines of the circuit. There is no way Raikkonen should have won that race in 2009.

And have Ferrari with a winless season since the beggining of time? Preposterous! lol

It feels so good for F1 to be back on Speed at 8am! I understand wanting to get the races to the American audience at a so called prime hour(12:00pm) but I just cant wait that long. Especially with facebook and twitter spoiling all the race results. Live is the only way to see it!!

It looks like it rained over night in the track. Theres a dry line but slightly damp off line in the GP3 race rightnow
