The top five drivers all have double-digit numbers which repeat the same number.

Tsunoda and Giovinazzi letting the side down.

Edit: Sorry, did Wolff just say "**** them all" on the radio?!

Edit edit: Pete, no!

If Lewis retains that kind of pace tomorrow, things are going to be spicy in the race. Even more so if the gear change issues persist for Max. Easily one of the best title battles in many years imo.

That's just what Perez does. If he loses places at the start (even to much slower cars) he just can't get them back.

Wonder if Perez is still having wing issues since they swapped? I noticed during FP1, the commentators focused on Red Bull once again, working on the rear wing.

What’s the weather for tomorrow compared with the cool temps of today? The Mercedes can be spectacular or crap depending on ambient temperature.

15 cars in that short period was seriously impressive, was expecting 8th at best. Also impressive from BOT, thought for sure VER would eventually breeze past. Mind you, he probably will tomorrow. Very poor from PER, that Ferrari was miles off the pace and he never got close.
But he was on softs.

This will may play into things later for the race with one less set.
You can compliment HAM sometimes, you know? You don't have to try and find negatives in everything he does. I mean were you even watching, if you didn't notice his tyres?

So Perez and Bottas are the same.
Perez was a long-time top contender in F1.5

Nobody is going to do anything else in the second Red Bull. Although funnily enough, Mercedes having the exact same policy has made the WCC more interesting for the first time in about 15 years.

Hammertime - U Can't Touch This

Impressive drive from Lewis. Just being able to pass all the fast cars on a straight makes it really promising for the race but also the upcoming ones as long as the engine doesn't degrade too quickly as they all have long straights. If they can start doing one-twos for remaining races then championships should take care of themselves if they get a good result tomorrow.

It was great to see Valtteri manage to get the lead and keep it for pole tomorrow and helps for the constructors too. Hopefully he can do a repeat of Turkey and finish ahead of Max comfortably as that will be very important for the title chances for Mercedes and Lewis.

Quite worrying that if a car picks up damage, then can lead to disqualification even if it passes most of the test and only part out by 0.2mm. Seems very harsh considering Charles destroyed his car in Monaco qualifying and that car would have been out by more than 0.2mm but was allowed to repair bodywork. Mercedes also replace part for the same specification but get disqualified for damaged part being out by 0.2mm on one side when forced open. By the looks of things, if Hamilton reversed the car into something lightly or tripped up and broke it, he would have been allowed to start from first place.

"It was clear to the Stewards that the additional deflection was due to additional play either in the DRS actuator or the pivots at the end, or some combination or other fault with the mechanism, or incorrect assembly of the parts."

Amazing after saying this, they say there were no mitigating circumstances. The car passed the static test so passes the regulation that way too and they say they are happy with design of part too and got it replaced like for like. Couldn't make it up. I wonder if competitors will now be looking for anything being out by 0.1mm due to failure and reporting it especially parts that are using tape if it goes loose like Toto mentioned. The cars are under so much load so going over kerbs violently could make something fail a load test fractionally.

I wonder if Red Bull will protest the Mercedes cars too after the race as they seem to think they know something is up to get so much speed on the straights or maybe they will just try to get the tests changed.

It's meant to be hotter so may make overtaking harder but rocket speed on the straights should help. Speed trap Lewis was fastest and Valtteri was slowest. Good thing for Lewis would be if Carlos can keep Sergio behind, he will have a much better chance to get on the podium. Hopefully Christian Horner is right and Lewis can challenge for the win!

Red Bull already did. They filed a complaint against the complete rear wing already before this DRS incident. BTW Mercedes did the same against RedBull some months ago with the flex rear wing of RBR. After investigation nothing illegal.

The DSQ of Lewis was only for that DRS gap.

Massive performance of Lewis yesterday. Now with the replaced ICE he can benefit of the faster engine and if it doesn't degrade that much also the other remaining races. And that's exactly what the team has to decide --> agressive mode all the way or manage and balance between the races?

Would be a pay back if Bottas now blocks Max like v.v. last week. Mental game!

Looking forward to the race!

Lewis is going to need his dancing shoes on to get through the Senna S unscathed, starting plumb in the middle as he is...
