Forza 6 Demo Sept 1

Coming from Gran Turismo, Forza's often dramatic background music is downright disturbing.

I'm not a big fan of it myself - though I love the Classical station in FH2 - but it's been mentioned custom soundtracks are returning to XBOne in November, so that can solve any issues.

Although I haven't seen a demo feed where the music has been turned off, I feel that the brutality of the engine sounds from Forza 5 has been toned down to more natural levels, which I think is good.

I feel like the engine sounds had already been toned down in FM5 compared to the 360 titles!

I feel the presentation is a bit too cheesy for my liking and do those voiceovers ever stop in the full games?

The presentation isn't any worse than GT6's mid-90's JRPG start on Brands. I'm not much of a fan of either, if I'm honest.

Yes, voiceovers have ceased pretty quickly in both FM5 and FH2. You tend to get the option to make sure certain dialog boxes never show again, either.

Thanks I was just going to write my impressions and must say I am completely disappointed about the FFB and T10 wheel support in general. They are light years behind rFactor 2, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, pCars. The problem is not fixable with any settings, it is in the way controls and FFB are coded and it completely destroys their good tire model. Without the option of cockpit view FOV change and with this crappy level of FFB and controls I will not be ordering the game.

Yeah, it's a bit disappointing. This may be the first Forza I don't buy.

been on the phone with xbox support and no help. Still failing at 41%. Also noticing a steep dropoff in dl speed on the full game, from 20mbps down to 440k. No idea.

Well, as a taster for the full game I think it's achieved what it set out to do

For me, anyway

I'm looking forward to the 10th very much. Can't wait to get tuning and painting :D

Oh and those puddles are going to get old veeery quickly :lol:

Well, I managed to switch on the download just before I went to bed last night. Will be checking it all out in about 3 hours.

Clicked/watched the Launch Trailer 3 times, getting the screen saying to download the Demo>>> but all I get is a black screen. :indiff: Tis the shape of things to come .... :banghead: digital download my a** :banghead:

I just noticed it says: Download the Demo at xbox.com
So I use the pc to download and not the xbox one? :ouch:

On the Sebring race in the rain I wish the cars would get muddy when you went off on the grass. In fact, I wish the cars got dirty in any condition.

Why would you watch the video? What's the point?

Because only after watching the video (on Hub) do I get the screen telling me to Download the Demo at xbox.com :dunce:

Could someone please direct me as to where/what to do to get this darn Demo? :banghead: TY.

Is it just me, or the Internet (Explorer) is still not available on Xbox One? (Server Error). 🤬

As someone who plans on buying a CSW V2 for Forza, these reports from wheel users are a bit worrying. Hopefully, things will change in the full game.

My download has been crawling along all evening, even on a 70mb connection. When I signed in I got a message about Xbox Live Services experiencing issues so it could be related to that.

I also have a 70mb connection and when I called support, they suspected a problem with my wireless was preventing the download from maintaining speed. Apparently it is not specific to this game.

I do have a fix, though- I went and bought an ethernet cable, wired up the xbone, and bam, instant 70mb+ speed. Game is now at 65% and climbing fast. So, if anyone else has speed issues or random errors while downloading, take wireless out of the equation first.

I switched mine to wired when I got home but it hasn't sped up at all :(

Please don't waste your money for a high-end wheel if you don't play PC sim. The controls in Forza 6 are coded for a gamepad, no wheel can fix that, only T10 can but I can assure you they wont. If you want a wheel buy a Thrustmaster TX, you won't notice any difference in Forza anyway.

I started playing at 57% and the first couple of races played OK but when it got to th first showcase the game paused to install the rest of the demo. I'd recommend waiting until 100% for uninterrupted play. s taking a long time to load though. However what I've played has been great.

Found the Download here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/forza-6
Click on: Download The Demo >>>
Then it says to log on Xbox One and check My Games and Apps/Games and Install.

Imma go log on and see if it's true .. as if ... Microsoft reliability ... ... that will be the day ..

Wow, it's there, My Games and Apps / Games.
Installing now ... 🤬

Perhaps, just perhaps, you should stop complaining, whining, and rolling your eyes, and start downloading it before you assume reliability issues. Especially as dozens of people in this thread have already downloaded it and played without issue.

Does anyone (except you, previously) run their X1 wireless? I never even considered it, at any point

I run my X1 wirelessly. It's a LOT more convenient and I have no more space in my entertainment center for a router.

I have a router, but I connect hardlined. Unless I pay more to upgrade my router, then it will max out at 30mbps rather then 60mbps. I just rearranged my room so that way my modem is a foot away from my xbox.

All of my systems run wirelessly, we don't really have any other option in our condo without there being wires running from one end to the other.
Living at my moms house with a last gen console, I had a ethernet cable that was probably around 50 ft long  Slow internet is better then no internet.

I've only got one ethernet cable in the house long enough to reach the router and my PC needs that. I borrowed it to plug into my wireless Xbox but it didn't speed up the download any.

Oddly enough, our home xbox console is one of the few devices in the house with a lan port that isn't hardwired. It's in the one spot where we didn't think of putting a network port in. My FM6 console, when it then arrives, will be hardwired.

That said, my download was finished this morning. Just have to drop off kids at school in a bit, do a quick shop, and then it's demo time!

Early Demo Handling Impressions:

It's much better than FM5 - Smoother and more feedback - even in a controller. Honestly can't wait for the 10th!

Good to hear.

After watching all these uploaded videos, can someone please tell me why so many Forza players seem to have these brief and abrupt steering inputs on the controller? Is the game / controller poorly optimized for smooth inputs, or do some players only need to lay off bad controller habits?

Hmmm. My Fanatec in Forza 4 was alright, can't say about Xbox one wheels as I haven't got one yet. Was thinking of the upcoming Logitech wheel and get my game back on.

Stuck on the Indy car showcase screen,it says press A to select and when I do it does nothing and neither do any other buttons apart from the Xbox one.:/

I have considered getting a Thrusmaster wheel. However, my concern with them is compatibility. My cockpit, pedals, and shifter are all from Fanatec and if I have to replace any of them to use a Thrustmaster wheel, I'd rather just continue to save for the CSW. And while it's something I don't plan on doing for in the near future, I would like to get into PC sims when the time is right.

This Demo was very generous, and really showcases the improvements T10 have made from FM5.

The handling is the big one for me. In FM5, It felt like you were driving on ice at times with anything RWD and little bit of power. FM6 - A lot more responsive and more grip (but not too much). This is definitely apparent in the IndyCar showcase. In FM5 the IndyCar seems unresponsive and lacks grip for what you'd expect and X class car to have, and in FM6 its a totally different story. So much more responsive, and appropriate levels of grip. Its fantastic!

The rain racing is great and the puddles add another layer to the experience. You don't really get that from rain racing in other games, its freaking awesome!

I'm hoping we see more tracks get the night/rain treatment. I both think they're done so well that it would be a shame to see some tracks miss out. Apart from that, and the AA still being a bit shoddy - the rest is amazing. FM6 is going to be miles better than FM5 and I can't wait!
