Is it just me or did PG nerfed the amount of XP you get when completing a event?

Just finished a 1-lap Goliath race with my X5M FE with it's perk bonus and only got 27k XP? Before the update, it used to net me 60k XP.

FH5 is a dumpster fire on release which makes Cyberpunk's launch look like a triumph.
Settle down. FH5 is pretty buggy, but it's playable and it's not getting mass calls for refunds and storefronts aren't refusing to sell it.

Cyberpunk's launch was incredibly bad, so bad that I seriously doubt any other game will release in that poor a state for at least a few years. It's a poor game for comparison because pretty much anything that runs moderately okay on the hardware is going to be better than Cyberpunk was at release. If you want to compare FH5 to something, compare it to GT5 1.01 or some of the early Codies F1 games, they had bugs that meant that parts of the game simply didn't work as they were supposed to but the games were still pretty broadly playable. That's what we're seeing here.

It's okay to be upset and disappointed with a buggy release, but let's not call it something it's not.
 
I feel like a lot of the online issues are down to the fact there's a lot... no wait, a metric **** ton of people playing this game, which might have surpassed PG's early expectations.
This! I'd be willing to bet PG didn't scale the servers enough to anticipate the largest launch they've ever had. The online disconnects have become far less frequent and I can actually see people now for the most part. I haven't tried to convoy yet or tried the Eliminator, but I'm not constantly disconnecting and coming to a complete stop any more.
It is an improvement, but it seems there is still some work to be done. I don't have the P1 they supposedly fixed and I'm sure the accolades are still broken, as are the daily Forzathons.

I completed a clean lap yesterday before the season ended and did a showcase twice and got nothing.

They've made progress though, so let's hope it keeps going that direction.

Convoys are still weird and people in your convoy disappear constantly. Sometimes they reappear but aren't on the map, sometimes they appear on the map but can't be seen in-game, but usually they just full on disappear even when you are just parked next to them... Pretty annoying for guiding people to locations or whatever.

Also still get weird glitches while trying to do convoy things. Earlier tried to start the Trial with a friend when I was convoy leader. When it came time to "push select to join" my game just zoomed in on my rear bumper and I couldn't control my car, but he got pulled into a Trial. While he was doing it I could fast travel, go to the Autoshow, but any time out on the map I was just stuck zoomed in on my rear bumper with no control over the car. No throttle, no gear change, no steering, couldn't even honk my horn. The only way I got out of it was to make him convoy leader, then have him start an event.

I don't come to a stop when disconnecting, but I have had some combos just randomly break like they used but without the sudden stop... Don't know if that's something else though?

A bunch of annoyances really, but can still play the game at least and generally enjoy it... I don't think that's much of a defense for PG though. They aren't some small studio with little in the way of resources, and this isn't some new franchise that they didn't think was going to be popular, and it's just an evolution of stuff we had before. I think it's reasonable to be disappointed and expect better, but yeah some people go a bit overboard with it.
 
It's the most fun I've had with an arcade racer in quite some time. In my 100 plus hours I've had 5 crashes, my ffb goes out occasionally(which is remedied by resetting the usb cord) and I got the "come to a stop" a couple times but none in the last day or so as they must have fixed in in the patch. Horizon Arcade is shakey af but they'll work that out.
 
Oddly it still tells me that the Car Pass Subaru STI S209 won't be released until 11/18/2021. In my time zone it'll be the 19th in about 1.5 hours!

So, uh, is anyone else's car coming to a near stop when it hits water splashes/going through lakes on tracks and the AI just powers through them without losing any speed?
Yes. Had a cross country race in a hot hatch. Was way ahead when the AI hot hatches passed by while I was crawling through the water

Yes and no; yes, they fixed your car coming to a dead stop, but you still sometimes lose your skill combos at random, so something still isn't right.
A question I've had for a while and since FH5 still hasn't addressed it, I'll ask: What is the point of car rarity? It rarely makes sense, it changes from game to game, and you can neither sort nor filter by it?
It used to reflect the mastery tree of a car but at some point during FH4 that stopped being true, for example you knew for a fact that common cars would have small trees with I think 7 or 8 items, nothing all that useful in them, and legendary cars would have a full 4x4 grid of usually good stuff.

While at the main festival outpost yesterday I did observe some weird behaviour with regards to players phasing in and out, it seemed like it would cycle through several groups of players randomly and sometimes would just not show anyone at all. It's as if it knows you're on a server populated with all those people but, as we saw with FH4, there's a bubble around you within which other players are actually shown (otherwise they're just a dot on the map), and the bug that's preventing us from seeing a lot of players at once is in the way the bubble works - I guess the network code has to maintain synchronisation between players' bubbles and due to either a bug or excess server load it just can't. It's a shame because it does make the game feel so antisocial compared to FH4, but hopefully when the hype has subsided a bit it'll fix itself (or they'll fix it with patches).

@breyzipp I read your post about the Trial being available for A class or only for the i8. So I tried a few cars and I had lots of fun discovering some pretty good Trial cars.
Audi R8 5.2 is OP on off-road tires.
Nissan GTR Black on rally tires is very good.
Lexus FLA is just fine but will do the job.
Other cars need Drag tires which are terrible on heavy rain so I didn't bothered.

I downloaded the first A800 tune I could find for the Huracan, and won both of my races. A chap in a Ferrari 430 came second in both (helped by my battering the three lead AI out of the way in the second race; it is after all a co-op event), and we won in two rounds - I think we were 1-2-4-5 in the second round after two guys quit, because the AI team got 200pt, with a GT-R and something I don't recall but not an i8 remaining.
 
So It told me I had a gift where the Dodge Dart was found so I start driving there and about 3/4 of the way there it starts running very slowly then kicks me out the game completely and when I run it back up and drive there,the gift is nowhere to be seen..

Has anyone got a clue if bodyparts are unlocked later in this game for a change, with not every part available from the getgo? Like I previously asked and noone answered, where is the bodyparts from FH4? The 350Z got a duckwing. But not in this game it don’t!

I'm not aware of any upgrades being locked behind progression. As for the 350Z ducktail, that was part of the Rocket Bunny widebody kit. Rocket Bunny and its body kits are not currently in FH5, likely due to licensing issues.

To be fair Halo Infinite hasn't officially launched yet just the multiplayer bit and it's very good. I'd expect a good launch for Halo as well, still probably not as good as Forza though, all things considered.
Yeah, there are a lot of people myself included that only play the campaign in Halo. I've not even downloaded it yet for that reason.

The daily challenge was to buy a car in the auction house. I got the D-Type Jaguar, 22,000,000 credits in the Autoshow, for just 4M credits. It had all the skill perks still in it. Then I won the Auto Union in a wheelspin. So I'm knocking off the big ticket cars pretty quick here.
I picked up a GT40 MKII for 2 mil doing that daily. I was happy.

Yeah I know it always has been like this just wondered if it was different this time since some parts weren’t there. But like @Firehound427 says I forgot about RB bodykits, and the probability of licensing issues. This sucks.
 
You joking mate? Considering how on the ball they usually are? Is that sarcasm? FH4 has multiple major issues going back years which they never gave a toss about fixing or even acknowledging. You must not be very familiar with the game.

What's with people and massive over-exaggerations and overblowing situations? What logic is applied to that?
 
Ok this is slightly embarassing but...no matter what I can't seem to beat the train in Catch me if you Canyon. I finish in 2.13 it beats me, 2.11, it beats me, 2.09 it beats me so it's something to do with the rubber banding, the jump and the acceleration at the end, but if you jump off the left of the ramp you end up in the water and slow down, to the right and the back wheel catches and it slows down and jumping at an angle makes it slide. Pretty sure that's where I'm going wrong. Looked up a few YT vids and it looks the same as mine except they get there slightly before the train and win. It feels like it's set up to prevent me winning rather than let me win!

I had to turn down the difficulty for that one. I figured the idea was jump just in front of the train, but I always ended up behind it after coming out of the cave. IDK what I was doing wrong, just felt like the train had a massive jump in difficulty compared to other 3 showcases.
