The Rivian pair is as awful as expected. Whose idea was to produce tablets on wheels?

No one ever said the BMW had a ugly grille at least until the M3 and M4 came along with it, but I am burying the lede with this. Got mine now.

Also one of the EventLabs reminds me of the Riddler's Batmobile challenges in Arkham Knight. Here's why:

Does anyone remember them?
Reason number 2 to uninstall Arkham Knight and never touch it again.

After a whole month of 40 point weeks, boy was it nice to just have to do 20 points real quick. Was able to whip them out before I got disenchanted, so when I was done I actually did something extra for fun instead of just shutting the game off immediately.

The Trial was pretty rough this week though, with the one of the AI cars being very fast, and the mix of fast cars and rain was not a good combo for my rando teammates. With a friend we were barely able to hold back the AI enough for the teammates to catch up and pass, so still got it done first try.

Checked out the new M3 and it... is certainly a new BMW. It's close PI-wise to the Alfa Giulia we just got, but the stats are kinda surprisingly different for how close the PI is. A showdown between those two would be a good theme for a Trial or something one week... Or actually screw the Trial, hopefully the Alfa makes it to FM8 so we can make a championship like that, complete with old DTM-esque liveries.

Agreed. Also have to give props for that Horizon Rally Mexico stage, that was great fun. Definitely gonna try the full length version later on.
I haven't done that yet bud, but looking forward to it now when I get in from work 👍

Same here. I was kind of bored of the Grindfest during the Italian Weeks. I am also trying to minimize my racing games leading up to the release of the new FM to go in with a fresh mindset.

I think I am only going to unlock the new M2 in two weeks, although I did not like the feeling of it during the Rivals event.

I thought all 3 eventlabs this week were very interesting. They have clearly saved up some cool stuff to show off during the Eventlab 2.0 update :D

Also, the first eventlab has 5 AI cars, which is not something you see often in the playlist. Usually it's just solo, presumably to keep it performing OK on the Xbox One?

I work in the automotive industry and a few weeks ago I bumped into the PG sound recording team, they were recording sounds for a new car being added. I cant say what it is but I've driven the vehicle extensively and cant wait to try it in game.

Oh, how I wish it was the Peugeot in your profile picture. Or maybe a Seat Ibiza, or another classic Euro hatchback.

Hoping for a Classic Hatchback just like that Peugeot in the profile pic! :-)

yeah getting 40 points each week out of this tired playlist was a chore. I usually just do the trial and a couple pr stunts for the 20 points.

Okay, my tune for the Nissan 240SX is absolutely nuts, 1270hp C class. There can't be many tracks that are speed focused enough for it to work on them, but I've done a PB for Descansar Dorado with it, and have shared it so Jezza can try to beat his Ford Coupe time with it if he wants. It's shared as "Seasnl spd traps". I had shared an earlier one that I called "Speedy" because at the time I thought it was quite speed biased, but it's lower speed and has better handling than the speed traps one. The speed traps one is faster for all 3 of the speed traps coming up next week, but I was surprised to be able to go faster for Descansar with it as well.

I used your Seasonal Speed Traps tune for this weeks Speed Traps. It's fast, very fast. To get that speed out of a C Class vehicle I doff my hat to you. However, bloody hell it takes some controlling at speed 😂😂😂. I highly recommend stability and traction control are on. With those on it smokes the PR Stunts this week.

For me, the past month hasn't so much been the challenge of getting 40 points a week as it was helping a teammate get theirs. Been making a looooot of tunes to make their life easier... and a lot of watching drift attempts and trying to survive in the Trial together. By the end of last week we were about done and had to rinse the palate with custom racing.

Thankful the Italian brands are back, but whew, this was hard-fought.

How do we know if this is fake news or not?

Given the age of FH5, and the throughput time from scanning a car to actually putting it in game, we have no idea if any new scan will hit FH5, FM2023 or FH6 first. Only time will tell.

Feel like the rate things are going, racing games with licensed cars in general are gonna have to last longer and be far longer-term projects if we want any hope of seeing more totally new cars....

And here I was yesterday doing the whole playlist to get 80 points and the 850CSi. Took me 3-ish hours. Didn't feel like a chore, outside of Eliminator that is.

I'd love if they add a 205 GTI, I've had mine over 10 years now!

C'mon, you can't do us like that. Give us a hint at least

Sadly I think any hint would give it away

Hoping for a Classic Hatchback just like that Peugeot in the profile pic! :-)

Yep I'll have to keep hoping for my 205 to be added

Maybe he could do a Torben and temporarily change his av to show a body part of the mystery car zoomed in close up?

That would actually be a good idea but I reckon people on here would quickly figure it out

How do we know if this is fake news or not?

I've got nothing to gain from making it up, I saw the PG sound team recording the vehicle, asked if it was FH5 and they said yes. Then straight away asked me not to share it anywhere, so best I can do is tease. Of course they might change their mind and not add it but I'm only passing on what they told me.

I will say though like my original post, I've driven the upcoming car a lot ;)

Do what I do for the Eliminator bud. I always camp out in the woods at the disused airport on the south of the map. Very rarely if at all do I get bothered there as the rest of the players eliminate each other. I just move inland slowly with each stage.

@UKMikey and @Populuxe got the exact same time on the Rivian monthly at Baja California...! Just gonna immortalize that before either of you improve your times :D

As much as I enjoy the Eliminator, I don’t always want to play a full game when all I want is the points. Most of the time I’ll just hang out on the edge of the map until there are thirty cars left then drive out of the circle and get eliminated.

However, this week I stumbled on a level 8 Camaro car drop almost immediately. I didn’t want the car to go to waste, but I still didn’t want to play the full game. So I figured I’d challenge someone in a low level car then purposefully lose the race so they could have my car.

After a minute I found someone in a level 2 Escort and gave chase. I had a surprisingly hard time catching up to them just to challenge them. Turns out a level 2 rally Escort is better off road than a level 8 Camaro. Finally they made a mistake and hit a building. I caught up and beeped my horn. They didn’t take off at first. I’m assuming they figured they were toast already. But when I didn’t take off, either, they finally started heading for the flag. I meandered to the flag, sticking to the roads while they bee-lined it through the fields. They easily won the race, I was eliminated (finishing better than 30th thus getting the three points for the weekly playlist which was the whole point), and, I assume, they claimed my car. I hope they did well with it.

Two things I noticed that I don't think were mentioned in the official patch notes

  • AI cars are back for Event Lab races in the playlist
  • the Eliminator race ends immediately when your opponent quits

I’ve just grown tired of the playlist events and have played like 600+ hours in each game. It’s still a great game.
