Truck yeah!
@PJTierney This is a really stupid question but how do I follow a tuner or painter in Forza Motorsport so that their tunes/designs come up first in the browse list? I downloaded your paint for the Polaris RZR so does that mean I'm already following you or do I have to wait until it offers me the option of liking the design first?

  • Go to Find Designs
  • Find something created by the designer you want to follow.
  • Press (Y) to access Creator Options. (At least I think it’s that button)
  • Select Follow Creator
Also, if you have a Creator on your Friends List, their work is more likely to show up in the Recommendations too.

Just a quick question regarding the Drivers Cup.

Do you get any kind of reward for achieving the maximum amount of speedpoints in each championship? For example in the Seeker Championship I am a couple hundred points from the maximum amount you can achieve, but I will consider getting the rest of the points if you're rewarded with a car or something for doing so.
  • Hit the overall points target to unlock the next Series.
  • Complete all Series to unlock the Elite Series.
  • Hit the overall points targets in each Elite Series to get a Forza Edition car and gold Driver Gear.
  • Complete all Elite Series to get the Tuxedo and Ford GT Forza Edition.
You do not need to win every race or get max points in each Division.

No you don't get anything extra for getting the Maximum points. Once you achieve the Cup for that division, you've gotten your reward, usually a "Forza Edition" car. I have defeated 4 of the 6 divisions, and only "blacked out" (achieved all check marks) one of them. I'm in the process of going back and finishing the events I didn't come in first and get the max points. But as far as I can tell your only reward is the satisfaction of all check marks.

So looking at the current rivals events, it appears that the homologation system has been an utter failure. Supposedly it was done to try and eliminate leaderboard cars and make everything competitive, but a glance at the leaderboards with an eye for car variation shows it doesn't work. Here is a list of all the current class or homolgation based rivals events with how many different cars are in the top 25:

Lime Drive (Sport Compact Icon): 2
Now Your Run Begins (Hot Hatch Genesis): 2
Competitive Driver Training (Sport Touring): 6 (Camaro '17 & Camaro '17 FE so really 5)
Rally Heros Division (Rally Hero): 2
Vintage Sport Coupe Division (Vintage Sport Coupe): 2
Running Hardcore (Forza P2): 2
Forza Trophy Trucks Division (Forza Trophy Trucks): 1

Breakout Rivals Challenge (Open B Class): 4

So only one division beats regular PI for leaderboard variety, and only by one car. GG homologation system.

Just had something happen on this game that left me in absolute stitches. If you want to try it for yourself here's what you do:
1) Go to free play
2) Go to any road course (do not choose an oval track. I chose Daytona sports car circuit if it helps)
3) Put the maximum drivatars to one
4) Set the difficulty to unbeatable
5) Set player buckets to two, and make sure that they are not scored independently
6) Set group one car class to X, set group two car division to Forza Specials
7) Choose a really powerful X class car (I chose the Renault R.S. '17)
8) Now load the track, and there should be one Ford Transit SSV along with your Renault R.S.
9) Make sure the starting type is set to Rolling
10) Start the race
11) Enjoy the hilarity that ensues
12) Try not to pass out :sly:

If nothing funny happens right away, try setting the group two division back to Any, and then switching it back to Forza Specials.

When the delivery guy has a few drinks before work

I know this just proves how ridiculous the AI is, but it's so damn funny to watch! And what was wrong with the VW Bus?!
It had over 2,000HP according to Telemetry.
Edit: Just raced a 35,000HP Mercedes Race Truck on Daytona Superspeedway Tri-Oval and lost while driving that red Skyactiv Mazda LMP2.

Ok everyone I gave in an bought FM7 yesterday :) GTS is just complete garbage to me and im not jumping on that Trainwreck plus I just couldn't resist FM7's incredible production car list anymore just so many older cars I've been really looking for. So I have some questions and please keep in mind I've never played any game in the FM series, hell I don't even own an Xbox one yet.

1. Car Tuning: Im really into setting up my own cars and on the GT6 forum there is a tuning section for people to post setups but i don't see anything like that over here. I know you can tune and setup your car in FM7 so why is nobody sharing them?

2. Does FM7 keep track of the miles you put on each car and do parts deteriorate over time? Im comparing it to GT6 as that's what I'm currently still playing.

3. What Xbox should I play FM7 on? As I said I'm currently on the PS3 with GT6 and I still think it looks great for its age. I don't have to buy the best of everything to enjoy a game just as long as it runs smooth. Would I be ok playing on a first gen Xbox one or should I at least get a newer one for this game? Im also a controller player if that matters any. Everyone has said this game is really enjoyable on a controller.

Sorry if some of that sounds silly but those are the 3 things I'm interested in that I don't know much about yet. Everything eles with FM7 I can live with very easily.

Welcome to the world of Forza. I find switching between GT and FM is pretty straight-forward, so you should be able to get your bearings pretty quickly!

1. Tuning is available in-game. The reason you don't see many people sharing on the forums is because you can easily share/download tunes from the game itself. A lot of folks follow the big tuners via the leaderboards.

2. FM7 keeps track of your car's miles IIRC, but no, nothing deteriorates over time.

3. I've played FM7 on the first-gen XB1 (non-S) and the upcoming One X. Obviously the X looks better, but the vanilla game holds up nicely. It's a solid graphical boost over GT6, though it can't quite match the prettiness of GT Sport. That said, FM7 does add in weather and time changes.

I use the first gen Xbox One with zero issues. I don't know how much it lacks graphics wise but I know I've had none of the crashing or anything other people have reported.

I was strictly Gran Turismo for a long time but got over it, Forza can be quite refreshing after years of gt. Have fun!

That's great news knowing my transitional period won't be to difficult. I really like the idea of sharing tunes in the game and can't wait to explore that feature. I'm also happy to hear it keeps track of your mileage and the deterioration part is no biggie with so many cars to explore who has time to put that many miles on one car anyway right...lol

Thank you both for the information on the Xbox one. I think I will just buy the standard one and not the one X then. I'm not one who gets picky about how the background trees look or anything like that and now that I know a standard Xbox one will work that's good enough for me. Thanks again

Why does the livery editor have to be so damn unstable? Game's already crashed 3 times just trying to make a Spoon Sports livery for my S2000

Make the livery in FH3 if you have the game then imported. Just a suggestion till the crashing gets fixed.

Oh, Wow! I just noticed something. In the Forza Drivers Cup menu, below the events menu it depicts the Forza Edition Car (and the Driver Gear) you will win for that Series.
Seeker Championship: 2013 Subaru BRZ Forza Edition Prismacolor Black w/ widebody kit
Breakout Championship: 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi SS Forza Edition Orange
Evolution Championship: 1997 BMW M3 Forza Edition Red w/ widebody kit
Domination Championship: 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Forza Edition Gold w/ carbon fibre hood and widebody kit
Masters Championship: 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR Forza Edition Yellow and Black
Forza Drivers Cup: 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Forza Edition Blue ***

*** I haven't won the Forza Drivers Cup yet, but it certainly appears to be that car. All the others match what I have won so far.

Once you complete the drivers cup it opens the elite events and will show you a new set of cars and drivers suits which you win as you fully complete each section.

And if you complete all of those you get another Forza Edition car that isn’t listed. It’s a “secret reward” for finishing Single Player.

I have to admit, it surprised me a little how easy it is to get Forza Edition cars. You're guaranteed to get 11 of them just by finishing singleplayer, and I've already had two more show up as level-up prizes so far. I was expecting the vast majority of them to only show up either in the specialty dealer or as Forzathon prizes.

Who’s to say more won’t ;)

As I understand it, an update should come tomorrow.

One is expected for this week (as stated in Brian's Friday blog post) but one shouldn't assume that it's definitely coming on Tuesday.

I'd wait until next Monday before people visit the Pitchfork Emporium ;)

Yeah it seems as though they are adding content on Fridays but I haven't played a forza game in years so I don't know what the standard Forza patch day is. Most games its Tuesdays or Wednesdays though

DLC usually releases on the first Tuesday of every month, and the update to add those cars occasionally fixes some bugs as well.

Updates outside of the DLC schedule are not “always on Tuesday” although the first few have been for this game so far. I have noticed updates on a Friday, Wednesday and even a Saturday on one occasion for previous titles.

"We're aiming to have the update released next week, so stay tuned to FM.net for the very latest."

This is from Brian's WIK post, 10-20-2017.

What makes you think an update is not coming this Tuesday? It's always Tuesday.

If it was coming on Tuesday, he’d have said Tuesday.

The wording of his post implies a one week window where the update could come at any time. It’s worded in such a way as to give the development team some leeway and not a deadline that the community expects them to hit on the dot.

Like everybody else I’d like an update tomorrow, heck I’d like one today, but I would rather have an update that isn’t rushed so if it has to take a few more days in order to address as many issues as possible then so be it.

The last thing we need is an update that causes more issues than it fixes, so let’s be patient and hope that they nail as many bugs as they can.

Also:

PJTierney
While more updates than usual are expected during the launch period, do not take that to mean that there would be weekly updates.

Critical issues such as game crashes or save corruptions take priority #1 and updates for those can come at any time.

Anything non-critical will get rolled into monthly updates, to coincide with the monthly Car Pack releases.

There are some critical issues right now, and while those will get fixed as soon as possible that does not mean you should expect an update tomorrow.
