It’s funny that Autovista may have peaked back in Forza 4, except on Forza Horizon, where the showroom is sunny, airy, and aesthetically pleasing! I wish we had that too.

This is one of my biggest problems with Forza, in FM4 we used to have multiple homespaces so why the hell dont we get more options for homespaces. It would improve this whole game esthetically and fix all the problems with the lighting in the livery editer. And why is the movement still restricted in Forzavista mode.

I was expecting big things like PGR style garages. Yet 10 years later we still dont have this amazing feature.

Lol.. ! Your concerns sound legit but the game has far bigger issues. Either way, fair to say none of them are getting fixed after 2+ months.

Anyone else seeing serious lag on Dubai tracks lately?

I have been in three races there over the last few days and game was so jumpy that it was almost impossible to drive a clean lap. I had saw this once early on in the early prototype race there but this time through It was doing it on the initial porsche race and again on the hatch backs and again on the rally cars. I think every race there over the last few days has been the same thing. Very jerky, freeze frame several times during a lap. Haven't saw it on any other track but this one has been horrible lately or at least on the PC it has.

Finally got a Number 1, albeit Hardcore #1, otherwise #2 in The Americas, and #3 in ze world. :)
For now, anyway.

So, Failrace uploaded a video about the state of Forza 7 that I want to comment on:

Basically, he says that the complaints about the car pack really are just a microcosm of the problems found within FM7. He says that also, he's not too fussed about the possibility of microtransactions and loot crates (And I am inclined to agree with him on that point) but he says the biggest problem is that the homologation system has pretty much stifled any sort of open class racing that was prevalent in past Forza games, and has stifled the sort of oddball builds that were present in the past games as well, unless they are apart of a specific class. Also goes into detail about the lack of open class hopper lobbies that aren't based in the homologation system.

I mean, I'm more of a Horizon player, as has been known, and I haven't really enjoyed a Forza game since 4, mainly because there are much better sims out there that fit my interests as I've gotten older. But I have a very strong feeling that T10, and by extension Playground, are going to phase out the letter based class system and instead go for a much more rigid class based system and use the homologation parts to achieve that.

But it really just goes to show that not only do T10 and Forza have no real competition in the sim racing space anymore since GT shifted to being an iRacing wannabe. (Then again, you can make the convincing argument that Forza has had no such competition between themselves and GT since FM4) Failrace mentions this in the video as well. But it also shows, in my opinion, how little T10 seems to really care about the community and what they want. Nobody really wanted the livery system changed, how it was sold and how people were put in the spotlight. I know I definitely didn't want the way how you search for liveries to be changed when I made the jump to the Xbox One, and how it was impossible to search by best and see what was there instead of wading through oceans of **** to find one that was halfway decent if you didn't know what you wanted to put on your car from the get go.

I think it's pretty obvious that T10 is getting very sloppy and seem to be content on saying '**** you' to their audience.

Like Alex said, Forza is the only big boy in town. They can do what ever they want because there's no direct competition for them now.

Which is why I say at some point, the yearly release schedule is going to pay dearly for T10 and Playground at some point.

At this point I don't even know what to say about Turn 10 after FM7. It's a good game, that in itself is true, but you have to question the decisions made for this game. I said in another thread that T10 should take some time off, but (will that even help?) becomes a question. It sucks that this is the Turn 10 we're now supporting in 2017, and just when they got Porsche back too...

What happened after FM4 I'll never know, but I feel competition will not force this franchise to up its game (especially when every developer are just hell bent on making racing simulators), unless someone mimics Turn 10's style (and GT, which started it all).

Disconnected from server, if I get this more than half the time, is that normal?
Better than me. Since day one, I was never able to stay connected for more than 60 seconds. So I've given up on it entirely.

Can't really blame T10 for not having any competition though, especially since the competition keeps putting out less than stellar products... It took PD 4 years to come out with a successor to GT6 (which in itself was already stale and very much lackluster) and GT:Sport we could argue missed the mark completely upon release and caused a fracas that had PD scrambling to re-incorporate parts of the good old GT experience. PC and PC2, on paper looked to be what everyone wanted out of a racing game, however reality has shown us that it's not quite the case with various problem areas and the fact that it takes itself a bit too seriously (and the SMS staff as well, but that's a tirade for another time and another place), something Kunos and AC are also guilty of. These are two third party studios with a fraction of PD and T10's budget so they'll always be punching above their weight, but at the same time you get the sense that things are a bit "amateur" over there, with a distinct lack of polish, and it's us, the gamers, that pay for it in the end. Even PG has little competition with Horizon, the Crew looked promising but then it turned out to not be, the least we talk about NFS the better it is, and everyone else just packed their bags and left.

I'm not excusing T10 for their strange design choices/decisions with FM7, but like I said last summer during the FM7 buildup, maybe we're expecting too much because of the amount of content they provided with FM6 and how entertaining it was. People are complaining that not much has changed compared to FM6 and that in turn the genre and the franchise are getting a bit stale... Go over the GT:Sport section here and read what people are saying/complaining about... Is change always a good thing? Apparently not, because as I wrote earlier, PD reintroduced the GT mode, surely realizing that it was an error to change the core of the actual game, that people were either a) not ready for such a change, or b) didn't actually want such a change.

There's still not a game out there in the current console gen that offers you the same amount of cars and the diversity that goes with it. Yes, the current GT3/GTE cars aren't there and I really don't see why, and yes, it's a bit naff to have a bunch of off-roaders and no place to use them like they're meant to, but we still don't know what the future holds... And besides, there's not much you can do to a racing game to make it stand out, the formula of racing hasn't really changed since its inception.

To me the only thing that really matters is that, as I blast through Spa-Francorchamps in the M1 Procar in a single player long race, while the fog slowly starts to descend over the track, I take a moment to appreciate the little details: the safety net in the window buffeting with the rush of wind, the fully lighted instruments, and the rear view mirror wildly shaking and filled with the car behind, and I'm happy... that is all I need.

Its moments like these that make the game what it is for me.

I tried to run a series in that DLC BMW. No chance as far as I can see. Looks like I am losing interest in the game as I have completed all the races in the Driver’s Cup. There seemed to be a lot more to do in Horizon 3. Free Play races are my only option on some cars (what genius thought that was a good idea) and then only by adjusting the setup.

Or blasting down the Hunaudieres in the XJR-9 at night with that V12 howling behind you as the sun slowly rises on the horizon... It's strangely peaceful.

I just had an epic race at Silverstone in the Endurance hopper with my trusty Mclaren 12C GT3 where me and the second place guy and his 991 RSR exchanged the lead at least 10 times during the last 2 laps, which ended with me winning by .025 seconds. Unfortunately, when I went to save the replay it didn't do so... Guess you can't have everything. That was my 3rd win and 8th podium with that car out of 17 races, which, all things considered (I seem to end up in lobbies with the PTG and TX3 guys a lot, good luck hanging with them!) is fairly decent for an old fart with a controller and a sofa.

That’s a very fast sofa! :D

Rewind. Rewind is cool, did I have that or do I have it on Gran Turismo 6 and I played 5000 hours on it and didnt know?

I only use it here when I am just driving for points or money. But it is cool.
