So, I set up a Free Play race with the Alfa Spyder with the class rating, power and weight to suit. Had a nice peaceful race with no AI to contend with and stil got a 100% Bonus for the (non-existent) unbeatable opponents!

Of course you also got less for the race as it increases based on the number of AI used.

If you want to race and earn money without being banged, blocked or laps dirtied by the AI then set collisions to off so the Ai is all in ghost cars. Set up to use 23 AI and that will give you maximum payout.

Over the past few weeks we have been investigating an issue where a small number of players’ game saves were deleted and unrecoverable if their save was corrupted or if they ran into a connected storage error. As part of our investigation, we have been closely working with the Xbox team to address the issue. In addition to recently introduced platform changes, today’s FM7 update includes a pop-up error notice that will prevent players from mistakenly deleting their game save should they enter this state.

While we believe the Xbox update will prevent players from entering this state going forward, players who receive this pop-up error in the game will be prevented from continuing in the game and will be asked to contact Forza support for further assistance. This will prevent the player from unwittingly deleting their save (though players will have the option to manually delete the save if they wish).

We regret the trouble this issue has caused for players.

In addition to the above, today’s update for Forza 7 includes the following improvements:

• Fixed an issue where players were running into black loading screens in some multiplayer and League sessions and being removed from the race.
• Fixed an issue where, when entering a multiplayer lobby with Text to Speech or Speech to Text active, navigation would not be possible. In addition, players can now close the text window with use of a keyboard.
• Fixed an issue where, when browsing in the Buy Car menu while in a multiplayer lobby, cars appear with color and/or livery of whatever vehicle was previously loaded.
• Fixed an issue with the Bugatti Type 35, which prevented it from racing in Forza Driver’s Cup races.

Finally some sort of action has been taken about the save issue. Maybe I can actually play the game again now.

Still no word though about fixing the same problem in Horizon 3.

I've been playing both games with no issues. Not sure if the fact I'm still playing on an OG XBone matters.

I’m playing on an original Xbox One too and it happened to me.

Weird that this seems to occur randomly to people.

Started to get back into Forza 7 on the PC using my T300RS. Took some getting used to the interesting physics but I regained some sense of control by turning down the deadzones in the steering settings. Now these have probably been said before but does it bother anybody else that Pro and Unbeatable AI have faster accelerating cars then you even when in specific one make races (ie Formula E)

Also currently is grinding the best way to get credits?

Thanks everyone, happy holidays

Forza motorsport 7 has an odd system in regards to the force feedback, as they do everything opposite to most other games in terms of what the sliders actually do. But reducing the deadzones is not the way to go, you want the inside for steering at 0% and outside at 100%. I use the G920 on the xbox one and the T300 RS on the PC, these are older settings; but I have not changed them by much.

p.s I have the default settings in the Thrustmaster driver for the T300RS, but I have the overall strength in said driver set to 55% now.

Also, a T10 dev on the Forza forums; stated that the in game "force feedback scale" should be left at 100%. On the console, this is a bad idea (as explained in my video). On the PC however, as you can reduce the overall forces in the TM driver software; you can leave the in game FFB scale at the suggested 100%

Who’s that weirdo in 3rd? ;)
Fun story actually, I started the rivals event, set my fastest friend as my rival (usually you or Blaus).

I ran some laps and turned up a 41.599, .001 behind you.
I thought I would call it a day, until I saw I was in the top 10, at which point I figured I could shave some more time and maybe snatch that hardcore #1 spot.

Good job.

I've been playing racing games since before the racing line assist was invented so the Hardcore Leaderboard is where I usually hang out ;)

A tip for that type of Rivals if you haven't figured it out already: On your first lap slow way down and block the cars behind you. Once the cars ahead come round and get stuck you can pull away and get about 10 clean runs before you catch them again. This varies depending on the track but a bit of holdup at the start can get you some good space for your flying laps.

Thanks Turn 10! :D

Grrr, I can't do much better around Hockenheimring than in the 1:33s. I would try to enter corners faster, but any later than I am doing and I end up understeering into a wall or something.

I believe the compensation amount is based on the value of the CR and cars you had when you lost your save, at least that’s how it was for people who were affected in previous titles.

The game is beginning to annoy me. With the Forzathon, cars were appearing in the races in grey. They seem to have gone one better now, I raced the old Mercedes single seater in Free Play and it appeared in a nice metallic red, which it retained after the race, i had to paint it to return it to its original colour. Today was the GTR FE. Grey in the race. Paint to return to black.

I was going to do a 75 minute race, only to find you can’t do a timed race anymore. At least you can now select more than 50 laps. The laps I chose made the race about a minute shorter, but 20,000 credits less remunerative. Have the payouts reduced I wonder. Interestingly, the Unbeatable AI seemed faster as I only lapped the second place car 4 times.

I went for a race with the small Abarth on Free Play. As there was no way to restrict the race on power (for some inexplicable reason 100 HP is the minimum) I went by weight and raced solo as the game was incapable of setting up a field of identical Abarth cars. So much for Homologation!

How is it that game companies fix something with a patch, only to break something else. Do they test these fixes?

The key to fast lap is exit speed out of the corners not entry speed. While you do not want to slow down more than needed you do want to slow down enough that you can get around the corner and get back into the throttle early. If you enter the corner fast enough that you are still scrubbing the tires and having to stay out of the throttle 3/4 of the way round the turn then your laps will suffer from it.

Remember that extra 2-5 mph you carry a little deeper into the corner only speeds you up for a 100 feet or so where as dropping a little slower can allow you to exit 2-5 mph faster [or more in a fast car] and carry that speed all the way to the next corner.

I was able to beat your time again but I’m still at a 1:33.

Is this in free play that you are referring to? Because I can still do timed races-I did some this morning at Daytona.

The drivatar difficulty is so unbalanced. Sometimes they're slow like in Gran Turismo and at another track they're simply too fast for me. I can't find the right difficulty for the whole career mode.
