This thread got closed on the official forums so I'm just going to copy/paste my "things I want to know" here for reference.

  1. Can we import our designs and vinyl groups from previous titles? (Yes)

  2. How do the Storefront and other content sharing tools function? (Unanswered)

  3. What systems are in place to discourage people from deliberately crashing into one another in Public Hoppers? (Unanswered)

  4. Will there be more effective tools to kick consistently unsporting players from Public Multiplayer Hoppers? (Unanswered)

  5. What changes have been made to the League system from Forza Motorsport 6? (Unanswered)

  6. Will some form of #Forzathon exist? (Yes)

  7. Will there be a Co-Op Campaign feature? (Unanswered)

  8. Will Saved Replays contain all of the UI elements of a normal race; laptimes/position etc.? (Unanswered)

  9. Will Saved Replays run at 60fps? (Unanswered)

  10. Is there some way to send editable vinyl groups and designs to other players? (Unanswered)

We might get answers to 1 or 2 of these things this week but given how silent Microsoft have been on everything about the game so far I have my doubts.

I thought the 'car collection' mechanic was more of a system that rewarded you for collecting cars instead of limiting purchase options?

I know double-posting is not allowed but the edit button will just not work, tried clearing my cache and disabling my extensions but still no dice.
Still want to share this:
Car collecting is a key element to the Forza Motorsport series and, with Forza 7, we’re blowing that out in a big way. In essence, the more cars you collect, the greater your post-race rewards will be. You’ll have an in-game tier level in game that will progress as your collection grows and the higher your tier, the better the rewards you’ll earn. We’ll have more to say about our car collecting system at Gamescom.

Now that is a great feature. It effectively scales the game rewards based upon how much of a car collector you are and therefore how important car collecting is to you. I like :)

I logged in to FM6/FH3 today as I have neglected them a little lately and the new FM7 trailer shows up in game on my 4k TV... @PzR Slim I think I may be joining you :sly: ...The graphics and the new Mountain pass look amazing in 4k close up 👍 I also forgot how good Forza 6 was too coming back to it after a break. Oh dear expensive 3 months coming up (again)..

@Gr4ndy Yeah this is best for you, I already have a decent PC (1080p monitor) but not good enough for gaming in 4k so for £400 (ish) "another" console is the best for me and use the 4k TV ..What's one more  👍

Jeez, I'll end up with huge rewards within a week if that's the case. I always end up hoarding my garage with loads of cars on every racing game I play.

I have a strong feeling that they'll just show the E3 demo again. Simply thinking about it is frightening because I don't want this game to end up being a rushed mess.

-------------

Since the track list is final (only one brand-new track, which is disappointing to me) and the car list is almost final (only a handful of new cars so far, which I personally don't mind), I don't think there will be much to be excited about if you've played Forza 6. If Turn 10 reveals some details about the career mode and online racing, then the game might become enticing for some returning customers.

In my opinion, if Turn 10 doesn't share anything beyond PC specs and PC peripheral support (which is helpful for PC players, to be fair), then I'm afraid that some people will be convinced that Forza 7 will be Forza 6.5 and it will be too late to win back the crowd. "4K this, HDR that" means nothing to those who want a solid gameplay experience.

If you don't read the FM.net forums often, read through this thread. The names you'll see frequently only represent a minuscule minority of Forza players, but they echo legitimate concerns that come with relatively limited information about the career mode and online racing as well as the shortage of "new" content in general. If you notice the amount of likes that some of the posts have, these posts have plenty of support.

The demo might be the one we already saw, but it wouldn't be a problem in my opinion. I'd rather they spend their time on the full game than making several demo builds. I'll also live if the E3 demo is the one released to the public next month.

They will talk about other things during the week. The car collecting system, for example.

I read the thread earlier today and it's hilarious reading. People are somehow jumping to the conclusion that Gamescom is over before it has even started.

Yeah, the people over at FM.net blew things way out of proportion, although that's typical behavior on that site. Just look at the reaction when the Hot Wheels expansion was announced over there.

Granted, the way things started off was disappointing since nothing new was even teased. But I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll learn a great deal about Forza 7 this week.

Well with nothing new talked about yet aside from PC stuff, I'm going to now look forward to tomorrow to see what cars they're revealing next. If it's race cars, c'mooooooonnnn Skyline Super Silhouette. C'mooonnnn 1990s BTCC Touring Cars (I can't forget the other Touring cars). and c'mooonnn more IMSA racers.

I'm not, half of my office floor is there showcasing PES and Metal Gear :scared:

I think the spark for that thread came yesterday when very little new content was shown. PC specs and the wheel list are certainly useful information, but one would expect that with the gaming world tuning in to see the best that Xbox has to offer that we would see a new trailer at least.

Then again, it appears the entire Xbox show was underwhelming to some people.

I like the official forums because they're official, thus making them the most active Forza community by default. The subforums are good when you have the right people in them and it's the only worthwhile place to share livery designs.

That being said the general attitude over there leans towards the negative. Turn 10 staff do read the forum (even though they rarely post outside of what they "have to post") which makes people believe that their suggestions and feedback have a meaningful impact (they don't unless said feedback aligns with the thousands of emails they get every day). That in turn leads to people pointing out what they don't like about Forza more than what they do, as it's rare to see people put in the effort to give positive feedback in a public space in general.

Also, very few people on forums know of or consider the practical reasons for why a feature is the way it is, and not many are willing to accept that the return on investment on implementing what they request is so low that resources won't be diverted to it unless it's planned to be a key feature in an upcoming title. It doesn't matter if 10 or 15 people on a forum agree with you, there are 5 million people playing Forza and (throwing out a guess here) 4.9 million of them may not agree with you if you asked all of them, which you can't as only a few hundred visit the official forums at all.

I would assume for all, surely. Seems like a good way to attract negativity restricting it to only Pre-Order buyers.

However, I think there was time early on the franchise, there was a time when the demo was out first to a select group before everyone.

Looks like there'll be a new car/track combo in the Gamescom showfloor demo build.

EDIT:

More stuff coming this week, second to last Forza Garage reveal, Car collecting aspect + More.

Gamescom PC Specs – Tracks – Forza Garage Week 6
Gamescom is of course this week in Koelnmesse, Germany. We will be talking about awesome details of Forza Motorsport 7 all week. As we talked about in the Week in Review last Friday, we have revealed all the tracks and there will be further announcements about how car collecting works and much more.

When Mechberg returns he will have a full story for you on how it all went. Perhaps you are attending yourself and will get all the gritty details first hand. Either way it is a big week for Forza fans. Plus, let’s not forget tomorrow will be the penultimate edition of the Forza Garage car reveal series so be sure to check that out tomorrow here on ForzaMotorsport.net.

I have an idea for a fun thread I was going to make before I realized I am super lazy. What if there was a "Complete other games" thread. Where we take other car collector type games and see how many Forza 7 has, or would have to get to complete.

I hope whoever recorded the wastegate flutter you get when you turbocharge the Hoonigan Escort in FH3 has decided to port that over to every turbo conversion in FM7.

Ah, Sonoma looks good. Still one of my favorite tracks in any game.

I think it's funny that the game still sorts it based on the old Infineon name, though.
