:banghead:

If you all will just read the part in brackets before the list starts - you will see that it is made up of facts and speculation from interviews and the like.

Of course I know that dynamic weather has been talked about many times by Kazunori Yamauchi - but not confirmed yet - but it still belongs in that list, because most likely it will be a feature in the game.

Yes, I am a Gran Turismo fanboy - but aren't we all posting here? I'm sure Forza 3 will be a great game in it's own right - but come on, the stuff that Dan Greenawalt said was just incredibly childish and his game will not live up to GT5 - not a chance. "The definitive racer of this generation" and "True, next-gen visuals make this the best looking racing game this generation" are my two favorites. ;)

Just because Dan deiced to take shots at the throne doesn't mean you have to downplay F3 in order to praise GT, i'm sure both games will have their negatives and positives but to take a stand like this so early on with so little information about both games sure makes you come off as a GT fanboy.

When you sit at the throne you must expect people to throw rocks at it. No worries though, PD always delivers. :)

don't even bring forza into the same level as GT. Forza can't even render more than 8 cars on the track. That's only double what the psp can do heh. The cars look cartoony. The lighting is very off. The cockpit system is a joke. Looks so dark in the car you think the driver is wearing shades or something. All they have is some few rollovers. **** when did forza become an arcade game?

One fanboy after another, sigh...

I think I saw a article talking about PD employees playing Forza 3 and taking notes. Obviously they look at F3 as at least close to the level or that would not have happened.

You need to take the fanboy goggles off, at this moment there are plenty of things F3 does better than GT5P does. GT5 has not enough "known" definitively about it to win there either. There have been things previously that Kaz said GT's would have that did not make it into the games. I think the reality of GT5 might be a little bitter for such extreme fanboys as you and Black Chamber.

And Turn10 did it with GT.
Every dev does this, with many games (also from other genres), some sites just stretched that story because they saw some PD employees at the T10 booth at the E3.

I dont like fanboys, but i also hate it when people search for the stupiest things to "argue" against "fanboys".

you expect me to believe the words of Turn 10. 'Oh **** PD came over and wrote down stuff after watching our videos!! Ooooooh yeah baby!

yeah right! I think the forza devs should concentrate on increasing the number of cars on the track before i even bother with their game.

In the end forza is just a pretender to the throne. If all the best they can do is rolling over their cars then **** need for speed shift is a better option.

At least they can get the cockpit system right

Wow, I've just parachuted into fanboy central. Thank god I remembered to wear my fanboy repellent underroos. At least I am not alone in condemnation.

Honestly, FM3 will be a great game, better than GT5? Shouldn't be, but this is by far the most ambitious GT yet and things can go wrong when adding so many things to a game. FM3 has received good feedback from people who have tried it, GT5 is still more of a question mark at this point if compared.

forzamotorsport.net is that way--------------->

Fixed.

Gran Turismo 5:
1.- 800+ vehicles to choose from in the game
2.- 90+ tracks [Including reverse and alternate versions]
3.- Damage on all vehicles
4.- Up to 16 cars on track
5.- 4 Different car views including the new cockpit view
6.- Downloadable content will be available for new vehicles and tracks
7.- One 50GB Blu-Ray Disc
8.- No Livery Editor
9.- NASCAR and WRC license
10.- Transfer vehicles from GTPSP to GT5

Forza Motorsport 3:
1.- 400 cars available from popular manufacturers

6.- Download new vehicles and tracks with the DLC from XBOX Live
7.- 2 DVDs

9.- Fully customized multiplayer modes

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Off course some of this is speculation too but not as biased as the other one.
I do not know many details about F3, (no 360) and some stuff may be missing.

Gran Turismo 5:
1.- Around 600 cars expected because of amar212s post, 800 because of GTPSP
2.- 90+ tracks [Including reverse and alternate versions] expected because of amar....
3.- Damage on at least rallye vehicles
4.- Up to 16 cars on track
5.- 4 Different car views including the new cockpit view
6.- Downloadable content will be available for new vehicles and tracks is expected
7.- One 25 or 50GB Blu-Ray Disc
8.- No Livery Editor was shown so far
9.- NASCAR and WRC license
10.- Transfer vehicles from GTPSP to GT5 is planned

Forza Motorsport 3:
1.- 400 cars available from popular manufacturers
2.- 100 tracks
3.- Vehicle damage and rollover
4.- Up to 8 vehicles on track.
5.- New cockpit view
6.- Download new vehicles and tracks with the DLC from XBOX Live
7.- 2 DVDs
8.- Livery Editor with new features
9.- Fully customized multiplayer modes

This is how it should look.

Forza 3 looks enticing, but I'll stick to GT5, since I can't buy a 360 to break on me (I'm a college student, so books and tuition are apparently more important :().

If all your worried about is how many cars are on the track you really need to re-think things.

all? not really. It just an example that shows forza's failings. When it comes to racing, they still suck. Their cars like i said look cartoony, the lighting is off some ps2 game and the cockpit view is terrible.

But hey they got rollovers.lol

I enjoy both series and didn't realize I had to be a retarded, rabbid fanboy to be here.

How are u doing with your meds?

people often swear and insult when they are butthurt. Although i don't know what i have said that made you so angry that you would want to insult me. All i did was mock forza. and i would do that as long as it still sucks.

You don't have to be a fanboy to laugh at forzamotorsport.

The cockpit view is no longer as dark. I posted that a few pages ago actually.

turn the brightness on the TV up :sly:

I don't think I insulted you but I did describe your actions. Your the one deciding to act like that, way to own my description...

glad i could help.

Stop acting as if forza is your brain child and that you have a stake in it. I mocked it and you took exception to it and proceeded to insult me. Perhaps if mocking forza raises your ire i suggest you look elsewhere.

I really gotta laugh at this.
+1!

Good point and well said.

Here is a feature breakdown between GT5 and FM3 [most of this is fact - but some is speculation based off interviews and expectations]:

Gran Turismo 5:
  • 800+ vehicles to choose from in the game [speculation]
  • Dynamic Weather that changes before or even during a race[speculation]
  • Real-time, realistic damage on all vehicles[speculation - highly doubtful]
  • 90-100 tracks [not counting reverse versions][speculation]
  • NASCAR License
  • WRC License
  • All major vehicle manufacturers including for the first time in the series: Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ferrari [hopefully Porsche and Koenigsegg]
  • Day and Night races with the possible transition into and from both of those times of day[speculation]
  • All on one Dual-Layered 50GB Blu-Ray Disc
  • Downloadable content will be available for new vehicles, tracks and possibly racing modes[speculation]
  • Real-time lighting effects producing unsurpassed visuals: Shadows, HDR Lighting, Bloom, Self-Shadowing, Vertex Lighting, Ambient Occlusion and more [big deal, already in FM3]
  • Up to 16 cars on a track - with up to 20 cars in online modes[speculation - What, can't the PS3 handle 16 beyond simple (i.e 1 line) A.I?)
  • 4 Different car views with the new hyper-realistic cockpit view
  • Tune your ride with a full lineup of official manufacturer parts and after market brands to maximize your cars potential
  • Transfer vehicles from GT PSP to extend your playtime even while you are on the go

Forza Motorsport 3:
  • 400 cars available from popular manufacturers[OVER 400]
  • 2 discs - download new cars and tracks from disc 2 to maximize enjoyment [if you have a HDD][fact]
  • Vehicle damage and rollover[on ALL cars]
  • 100 tracks [50 regular and 50 reverse][115+ tracks, 60/40 real/fantasy]
  • Livery Editor[fact]
  • Download new vehicles and tracks with the DLC from XBOX Live[fact]
  • 8 vehicles on a track and with up to 8 other players online[fact]
  • Next-gen visuals provide a realistic view of the race with the new [and ripped off from GT5] cockpit view [Oh wait, I didn't know GT5p was the first ever game to have cockpit view!]
  • No Night racing[fact]
  • No Dynamic Weather[fact]

Honestly, GT5 owns FM3 in EVERY aspect. I have heard people say that GT5 doesn't look as good as FM3 - um, GT5 is the best looking game I have ever seen. Period.

Gran Turismo 5 is the CRYSIS of racing games. Forza 3 is the game that wishes it was Gran Turismo 2. ;)

And this.

don't even bring forza into the same level as GT. Forza can't even render more than 8 cars on the track. That's only double what the psp can do heh. The cars look cartoony. The lighting is very off. Forza 3 has 8 cars for multiple reasons.

The A.I calculations as so far ahead of anything in a racing game today let alone GT5.

The car models are very far ahead (1 million polys per car)

The track details are again, far ahead of GT5

The physics are calculated on a level beyond what GT will ever have (the game makes cars handle the way they do because of the physics and not changing car dynamics)

And I would hardly call this "cartoony"

or this

Guess who's back? Back again? Satans back...Tell a friend...

That rear wing on that Acura LMP1 looks stupid, I hoped they would use a wider wing. Stupid ACO should have mandated power reductions instead forcing teams to pay for expensive developments for the new aero rules.

BTW the images do look cartoony due to the plasticy and very glossy look. GT5's rendering look like actual metallic reflections. And I doubt Forza 3 really has one million polygon models. And if they do, why would they? It's about how the polygons are shaped, not the amount of them. Though it may look cartoony, the overall graphics don't look bad, it's comparable to GT5.

Oh and welcome back.

Forza has poor lighting and reflections compared to GT5, and the textures look completly flat, 1 million polys is a waste if you ask me, GT5s cars look just as good if not better, yeah the old circle or curve might be slighly rounder, but you would barely notice it, Unless all those extra pollys have gone into making more detailed drivetrain and engine parts, and more detatchable parts in general(im all for that). Having said that this is all at a cost of 8 cars on track, Damn some people on this forum are not happy with the 16 in GT5.

FM3's cars have a million polygons? No way. I know Greenawalt said it was pushing 10x more per car compared to FM2 but I can't see that being possible on either the 360 or the PS3. Correct me if I'm wrong.
