Looks like some of those guys numbered 1-12 didn't finish top 12 last season along with multiple people in the top 12 who didn't sign up this year. Is that still correct @Furinkazen
It's because 3 people who would be locked in for this season (spurgy, offapple and rph) aren't taking their spots, so furi is using the three highest outside the top 12 who have signed up.
 
After a championship victory in the VRR Autobacs SuperGT Season 4 GT300 class, Genki Racing Project has announced that they will be fielding a part-time entry in ToCA15, running as an independent team with manufacturer Hyundai.

Weider has signed on as the primary sponsor along with longtime team associate Logitech, providing most of the funds needed to run the season. Other associate sponsors include RAYS and Takata, who helped fuel GRP's GT300 title run. While the lack of wins in competition is a bit of a negative point against the team, the consistency and ability to keep the car on the road that helped GRP win a championship will be useful in this season of ToCA.

Alright. Under 7 days to go. Let's sort this out.

Firstly - Friday. ToCA Media Night. Traditional final Pre-Season test plus a photoshoot. You don't have to participate in both sessions, dip in and out if you want. I'm aware timing might be a tad sketchy for the American contingent but we'll have enough people to fill a lobby I reckon.

Update on the session format. Some small adjustments including continuation of the Warm-Up lobbies trialed end of last season, and some minor session time adjustments. As mentioned, Qualifying 1 is for drivers outside Top #12 in points. Top #4 in a timed Q1 progress. Extra spots may open for any T12 drivers who cannot make it.

I appreciate for DNQ drivers it may be a little disheartening not Qualifying. A driver who DNQ will still receive 3 points overall (Equivalent to 3x 15th place finishes). If a driver who does not DNQ is Independent, they will receive 2 out of 3 points based on their placing in Q1. Example below.

Pts system for all drivers championships is still 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

At the moment for R1 there are 7 Independents locked in the field.

Q1 results may be as follows:

1 - Connor
2 - Moleman (INDEPENDENT)
3 - GTPorsche (INDEPENDENT)
4 - Polar
5 - Weathersystems DNQ (INDEPENDENT)
6 - Enforcer DNQ (INDEPENDENT)

Here, 2 Independents Qualify, there are therefore 9 Independents in the field for the races. The first DNQ Independent (Weathersystems) would be treated as 10th place and receive 2x lots of 10th place points in Independents (6pts, so 12 for Independents for that weekend.)

You guys in full teams - no issue with getting drivers to join / race a weekend one of your team members cannot make it. Just as long as I know and the car is prepared and ready before Q1, that's fine.

Independents - at moment a lot of you - no issue with forming teams for the season at any time. However if you're signed in a team next weekend, you can't "leave" the team - this can be abused by drivers as a way of switching cars (which is technically not allowed).

I operate a "three strikes you're out" policy when it comes to no-shows. If you go AFK without explanation for 3 consecutive weeks you're removed from the standings. If you let me know however you will be absent, no problems.

Come on! It's easy to understand, it clearly says that a driver who does not does not qualify will still receive 3 points...

Unless they finish 16th in each race in which case they will get 0 points, 3 less than those who DNQ.
 
In S13, DK DNQed for a race and got so many points for doing so that he was locked in the field for the next week.
Yea if there are very few independent entries, you can be an independent and fail to qualify and lock yourself in next week. I'm surprised this hasn't happened more, but this season there's only 4 actual teams so it's harder to do that

The way I interpret it is that you only get DNQ independent points where you could jump someone. Being on a team looks like it means you only get 3 points for a DNQ

No, he's saying for independent championship purposes DNQs are treated as if they're tacked on the end of the race in order. Just in a lot more, more confusing, words.

Ohhhh okay that makes a ton more sense. I'd just give 0 for a DNQ and make it easier. I mean you get a drop round
